Lots of technical discussion taking place right now in #DunnTrial (jury gone, just lawyers). Will let you know any highlights.

Brief discussion on "justifiable use of deadly force"- Corey says Strolla cant use w/o witnesses, Healey: I'm sure he knows what he's doing

Leads me to believe "justifiable use of deadly force" will be part of the one or two witnesses Strolla will call tomorrow

The worrying thing is as I mentioned... with all these instructions it would be easy for Jury to go for a lesser charge as a "Compromise Verdict"... but really the verdict should be not guilty.. of any of it if the basic SD is accepted.

Way Healey talking right now, he's sending not so subtle hints Strolla needs to bring evidence on justifiable force to the table

Healey says state wants 2 1/2 hrs for closing statement. Strolla says he wants about 1 1/2 hr.

Healey willing to start closings as late as 1PM tomorrow, but if testimony goes later, closings would be Wednesday followed by deliberations

Healey says court will stay as long as the jury thinks reasonable to debate verdict

@KDevich a lot of the speculation here is he will, but nothing confirmed. Strolla has to show self-defense, unclear how else he would.

Attys. taking a 30 minute break to figure out some of these technical points. Will reconvene around 5.

There would NOT be so much trouble with Jury instructions if Corey simple charged what the crime was without trying to include a whole bunch of possible compromise options.

I would say this news is a hint that Michael Dunn will NOT be testifying.

As I said... the sort of tentative timetable that the Judge was laying out, to my mind did not have room for Dunn to testify and especially not the likely ensuing Rebuttal. Not to mention the legal handbag fight over what evidence would be admissible for that rebuttal.
The Judge and Strolla talked of the one expert witness to come... and possibly one other witness only. There was specualion that the "other witness" was Dunn himself, but the tweet above perhaps quashes that rumour, with the "other witness" confirmed as Dunn's Father... We'll see

The live feed has been active since trial ended yesterday... the clock is still "ticking away the moments that make up a dull day"

So... maybe if there are some preliminary matters heard at 8AM we will get to see and hear?
