Yes it most definitely is mandatory and it is also mandatory that the depositions of experts may be conducted. Experts are considered to be extremely important witnesses.

Has there been identified as a witness a "digital evidence forensics expert" or perhaps a "cell phone expert"? What about a self defense expert? I was thinking Massad Ayoob.

Anybody know?

I loves me some Massaad Ayoob! I remember that some of the experts had agreed to sign on at either a discounted rate or for later payment. IIRC, it was on MOM's website a couple of months ago.

Anybody have any idea why Defense has not replied in connection with their two Motions for Sanctions? You'd think they'd want the last word, and a rebuttal to State's response for the hearing. If they filed replies I cannot find them.

LOL! Did Bernie's work of art actually need a response?

They've got Miriam Martin on the witness list - I think that's the aunt he was living with? That should be interesting.

Looks like they're not calling anyone from the school police - that's disappointing. His past, covered up crimes would be important. Maybe they're going to get the info from the regular police - but I think they were only sent one file from the school police....

I'd think that they would be rebuttal witnesses to any claims of Trayvon being full of "cheerfulness" always, which are not required to be identified in most states. That said, I'd have anticipated those possible witnesses would be deposed so the defense will know exactly what they would testify.

The school police personnel may yet be called. The information from the CTH FOIA request has not all been released. If I were in MOM's shoes, I would want to know everything that comes out of that FOIA document group before augmenting the witness list.

Suffice to say that at least one of the school police personnel testimony would be necessary to provide the foundation that there was an 8 page report on TM, that it was provided to the SPD, and to whom it was provided.

That in turn would serve to establish a lack of foundation for any SPD personnel to have offered a characterization of TM as just a good kid. etc. to anybody.

Shellie cannot testify against her husband- spousal protection. Plus, she is awaiting her own trial. I don't know why the persecution added her to the list, they should know this.

Ex-Texas DA faces criminal charges in case that convicted innocent man of wife's killing
04-19-2013 01:15 PM PDT |By MICHAEL BRICK, Associated Press
GEORGETOWN, Texas (Associated Press) --

A former district attorney acted improperly when he prosecuted an innocent man who spent nearly 25 years in prison, a Texas judge ruled Friday as he ordered the former prosecutor's arrest on criminal contempt and tampering charges.

(snip)
"Mr. Anderson consciously chose to conceal the availability of the exculpatory evidence so he could convict Mr. Morton for murder," Sturns said. "This court cannot think of a more intrinsically harmful act than a prosecutor's intentional choice to hide evidence so as to convict a defendant facing a murder charge and a life sentence."

Morton, 58, was released from prison in October 2011 after new DNA tests showed he did not fatally beat his wife, Christine, in their north Austin home in 1986. Another man has been arrested for the killing. Anderson, who has been a judge in Williamson County since 2002, has apologized to Morton for what he called failures in the system but said he believes there was no misconduct in the case.

(snip)
Among the evidence Morton's attorneys claim was kept from them were statements from Morton's then-3-year-old son, who witnessed the murder and said his father wasn't responsible and interviews with neighbors who told authorities they saw a man park a green van close the Morton home and walk into a nearby wooded area before the slaying.

(snip)
The new DNA tests, which were conducted on a bloody bandanna found near the Mortons' home, pointed to another suspect, Mark Alan Norwood, who was arrested for the killing in November 2011 and found guilty of murder. Norwood also has been indicted in the 1988 slaying of an Austin woman who lived near the Mortons.

Anderson also is being sued by the State Bar of Texas for his conduct in the Morton case.

The husband-wife privilege in Florida only protects confidential communication between the husband and wife. Adding someone to the witness list means very little, since it allows, but doesn't require, the person be called as a witness. There's little downside, especially when the person is favorable to the other side, so the opportunity of the other side to depose them isn't a factor.

The Dopes at JQ hang off every word that RZJr tweets.

It is all irrelevant to the case IMO. He was not a witness to anything.. othere that the rabid online hate after the fact?

The Cretins do claim to be in contact with BDLR.. maybe he is actually taking their advice?

Sigh> Just when I think it can't get any worse for George, along comes the state witness list with his family on there. Putting further pressure on George.

Yes, it makes it look like the state has no intention of caving and dropping charges. Amazing that it will continue to trial with all the evidence that has surfaced.

No way Corey backs down now she will ride this out and look stupid in the end.

I hope for that to happen, but I think Corey is pretty secure that she will succed. If she had an idea she would fail, she would have changed course by now...the fix is in.

The Miami-Dade Issues With Trayvon Martin – Full Recap (Six Officer Sworn Affidavits)
Posted on April 20, 2013 by sundance

After receiving hundreds of pages from the first round of FOIA requests from Miami-Dade, we have a better understanding of the issues which led to the suspension and later removal of Miami-Dade School Police Chief Hurley. We also better understand why the historical activities of Trayvon Martin have been difficult to locate.

Image

The first part of the publicly requested document release shows aspects surrounding an Internal Affairs investigation following the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Within the investigation dozens of witnesses gave sworn statements to investigative officers.

Included in the witness affidavits were six officers accused of leaking information to the media, and their statements reveal a systemic attempt by Chief Hurley to cover-up the instructions by Hurley to his officers.

From their statements, made under oath, it is apparent that sometime around 2009/2010 the police chief gave instructions for his officers to find alternate methods outside of the criminal justice system to confront the behavioral issues of school students.

As officer Tagle affirms, and other witnesses corroborate, the instructions were specifically targeted to young black males within the Miami-Dade Public School system. Targeted to keep their unlawful behavior away from engagement with the correction system and aimed to use school discipline instead of criminal corrections within the justice system.

In addition to avoiding writing criminal reports, the School Resource Officers were given instructions and approvals to avoidance at all costs. As Officer Ramirez told Commander Deanna Fox-Williams, the police chief also gave instructions to falsely cite incidents in their record keeping.

The officers who followed the police chief directives were praised and rewarded.

Another intimidation tactic, is my guess. They need to give it a rest. The scheme team is about as intimidating as a bunch of chattering squirrels.

I'm sure MOM/West told George to expect that. I doubt that he's concerned.
