I'm on the fence about it. St. Louis seems to be disappearing into the suburbs where the sales taxes are much higher.

If the half-cent tax increase is the only way the police can get a raise, I'm for it. Haven't read the proposition so I have no idea.

Taxation is theft

We all pay TOO MUCH already.

One of the FEW legitimate things that governments SHOULD spend money on (and so raise taxes for)... is Security, law and order etc (Military in case of federal obligations)... so money for cops SHOULD be assigned FIRST... not as an after thought funded by some novel new way of stealing money (tax). They should pay for cops FIRST.. and then perhaps put a "proposition" up to fund some lesser social program.... Then it is up to the people (if they are daft) if they fund whatever it is. But POLICE is a fundamental basic thing that existing taxes should cover.
