During Tuesday's hearing, Zimmerman sat staring straight ahead and did show any emotion. It seemed as if he wasn't even paying attention to the proceeding going around him. When it came time for him to answer questions from the judge he seemed timid, and answered with quick answers in a faint voice.


George sounds like a beaten man, and he already is in prison..I truly, truly hate what is happening to this case. Its outrageous.

Stupid Bernie didn't get the judge to do this part of his motion because she can't. He is still stupid and a loud mouth in court too.

Just want it on record that if this was a black man in the same position George is in right now, I still would be outraged at what the state is doing in this case. All to soothe the Crumpettes and keep the level at unrest at a miniumn. Is there really six people in Fla. that would pass voir dire and really dare to sit on this jury?

I tend to think this is good news....

That would be a simple motion for Nelson to grant. She set a deadline for filing the motion, defense missed the deadline, did not move to extend the deadline, defendant made a knowing waiver on the record. Sounds like a very easy affirmance.

Personally I think George has resigned himself to fait accompli.

Fox News referring to GZ waiving his right to a "Stand Your Ground" hearing, going on to explain SYG means you can use deadly force without the need to retreat. That is about the fourth news report I heard this afternoon referring to today's hearing about GZ waiving his right to a SYG hearing.

Too many careers are at stake for any other verdict than a guilty for GZ..it sickens me...the judicial system in Fla seems to already have a tree and rope ready.

I'm hoping there will be some on the jury that think differently and either push their fellow jurist for an acquittal or ensure it's a hung jury.

The case does not fall under the "Stand Your Ground" case because the defense alleges it didn't have the duty to retreat and Zimmerman didn't have the opportunity because his head was being pounded into the ground and he shot Martin in simple self-defense.
