A deadrubber end to a largely one-sided series has taken on some significance after the veteran Michael Hussey announced the Sydney clash will be his 79th and final Test.

Australia, despite the meagre nature of the opposition, further hampered by injuries to a slew of key players, owe their loyal servant an appropriate farewell.

Sri Lanka have again been disappointing... good as Ozzie fan to see them dominate... but a bit more of a contest would be nice.

Australia have just bowled out Sri Lanka in their second innings. So all that is left is for Oz to bat their second innings and better the total of runs Sri lanka made in two innings.

Australia need 141 to win

Should be easy with a day and a half still available... but as they say "Cricket is a funny old game"

There was some excitement with Ozzie opening batsman out, then several more.

But it looked like Australia would win and so Tea break was delayed half an hour... but they were still left with 5 runs needed and so had to bat again after tea.... got the runs easily.

Australia wins with more than a day to spare.

Retiring and much loved Australian Michael Hussey was one of the two batsmen when the winning run was scored
