What verdict do you predict?

As always... just a "fun" poll... guess if you like :)

I don't think I can do all the possible combinations of lesser included charges... so I'll keep it simple

Murder1
Murder2
Manslaughter
Attempted Murder (3x)
Discharge of weapon
Acquitted of all

I truly believe there WAS a weapon & the kids stashed it when they left & came back. I can't seem to get past that they too fled. Something hinky in my opinion. Just my 2cents.

Well done... exactly the same as me :lol

He's not on the face of it a "likeable" guy... but I don't see him as being nuts.. and so I do think he saw a gun and was genuinely in fear for his life. From what (little) I know of Florida (US) law... self defence is a legitimate reason to use deadly force.. and it applies here.

Quite right Berta, that is what we should do. Except..............

The evidence is THERE. All that is to come is the lawyer's spin on it.

I go for acquittal because I also think there may have been a weapon. And hope they did keep "justifiable use" in the instructions. But I'm afraid that many people may be worried because of the Trayvon case and be afraid to vote the right way. And all those lessor charges and the way they spin the story in the closings really sucks.

If I were going to base my verdict on emotion, I'd certainly vote Not Guilty simply because of my revulsion for Angela Corey and her cohort Guy because of their unethical conduct. However, based on evidence produced in the trial only, I still have to vote Not Guilty because of reasonable doubt. Although there was no evidence that the teens had brandished a firearm, neither was there evidence that they didn't. The fact that the teens drove away and returned to the scene before calling for help definitely provides for reasonable doubt. I have no idea if Dunn actually did try to kill them all, but because of reasonable doubt I would have to vote Not Guilty.

If I am basing my opinion on emotion only, I would hope someone would point it out. And I am hoping that the jury does not vote based on their emotion only.

As Strolla just reminded the jury... the State has TWO burdens of proof.

1. The charge(s) against Dunn beyond reasonable doubt = FAIL

2. they have to DISPROVE Self Defence = FAIL

My only worry (as I have said) is that the jury will (wrongly) feel that they have to find him guilty of "something" because a person died.

And so they will opt for a "compromise verdict"

Corey has complicated the verdict decision with a raft of lesser included charges... the Jury may feel "obliged" to pick at least one :doh

I honestly think that the Jury's best course of action is to look at SD...see that the State has NOT disproven it... and so they can bin the rest of the crap on the verdict form.

Not guilty. What I heard today that I missed in reading- about the child locks, about the guys in the car calling cousin and he showed up at the station and the guy hung up on 911. One guy lied said he couldn't get thru to 911 yet def entered his phone bill and was on phone with 911 for ONE FREAKING SECOND! I truly believe Davis was outside the veh. I believe they got rid of some kind of weapon. If Dunn had only called 911 tho they could have searched to see if they hid something. AND THE FREAKING WINDOWS! The window was DOWN! THE BROKEN GLASS WAS INSIDE THE DOOR..

I voted Not Guilty
But that was predicated on my personal opinion, not what I think the jury will vote.
I believe they might go for manslaughter at the least.
Ya never know tho, this is Flor-i-duh; anything could happen.

I think this is a case where everyone involved is guilty, and lying. I doubt these kids would have a shotgun with them. An AK, or a couple of pistols, maybe, but a shotgun? And, though he only saw it for an instant, Dunn could tell it was a shotgun. Then, and only then, he went for his own gun, and managed to shoot up the car without getting any return fire.

I believe he had the gun in his hand all along. I know I would have. Then when Davis opened his door, he started firing. That might still be self defense, but it's very questionable. Because there is enough doubt, I pass on murder, and vote for manslaughter.

I would agree with you .... except for the teens driving away and returning to the scene. That puts reasonable doubt in my mind as there is a definite possibility the teens hid/dumped a firearm (doesn't have to be a shotgun). I'm not saying there is proof the teens did that, I'm just saying it is possible, therefore providing reasonable doubt.

They drove away, because they were being shot at! That's another problem Dunn has. Apparently he shot at the back of the car as they drove away. I think he is going to be found guilty of something. Just not sure what it will be. Also, there could be a GZ supporter on the jury who would hang it just to PO Corey.

I didn't follow this at the time, but I have done so since, and have voted. I don't see a race issue here at all and I think too many people hang that title on crimes like this. He should have been acquitted.
