Police investigating the shooting death of an Australian student in Oklahoma by three teenagers says the gun used in the murder may have been stolen from a Stigler, Oklahoma gun shop earlier this year.
Following a string of armed robberies last week, police arrested four suspects in connection to the hold-ups who are 'associates' of the three suspects in the Chris Lane murder.
Investigators told Mediaite the Stigler robbery may be the source of the murder weapon, which has still not been recovered.
James Edwards, 15, and Chancey Luna, 16, are accused of the first degree murder of Christopher Lane as he went for a jog last Friday. Friend Michael Jones, 17, is charged with being an accessory to the crime and driving the getaway car.
Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said that rather than being part of any gang, which had been suggested before, authorities believe the boys were just wannabes who were emulating the thuggish beliefs of their idols, with Chief Keef being prime suspect.
