Change UK splits as six of 11 MPs become independents
4 hours ago

Image

Change UK has lost six of its 11 MPs following a disappointing performance in last month's EU elections, when it failed to get a single MEP elected.

The party announced that a new party leader, Anna Soubry, had been elected.

She said she was "deeply disappointed" that Heidi Allen, Chuka Umunna, Sarah Wollaston, Angela Smith, Luciana Berger and Gavin Shuker had left.

The departing MPs said they would be "returning to supporting each other as an independent grouping of MPs".

Change UK - formerly known as the Independent Group - was formed earlier this year by MPs who quit Labour and the Conservatives.

THERESA MAY IS NO LONGER LEADER OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY

But she remains acting Prime Minister of UK (and acting Tory leader)... until a new leader/PM is sorted :roll

I understand WHY the Tories have lost support... not only FAILED to honor Brexit promises.. but they are elitist in many ways and out of touch with voters, but if the people just do "the usual" and vote Labour when Tories are out of favour, then UK is doomed. The current UK Labour party is NOT the old party of "the working class"... as with the Democrats in USA... Labour has shifted left.. abandoned ordinary people if anything. The scary thing about the Polls is that at the very least the BREXIT party will "split" the Conservative vote... take almost half of the votes the Tories might have got...Labour along with DimLibs, Greens may well gain control.

I really don't see much hope for UK. The Tories are a better option than loony left, tending to social Marxism, but the Tories have lost their way to some extent and so they are not much of an option either. I DO NOT see Farage and his Brexit party as any sort of "savior" in themselves... but maybe they can pull the Tories back into line a little? Best hope might be Brexit Party get a few seats and form a Coalition with the Tories... but that's a faint hope.. and it may not be much good even if it happens. What might well happen is simply Brexit splits the "conservative" vote... and Labour wins a general election in a landslide.

AND....
Parliament has NOT done Brexit yet... and there is still no certainty that they will :wall

Tory leader race....

I see Michael Gove is in troub having confessed that he did Cocaine 30 years ago when he was a journalist.

IF it was just a "one off" minor thing... many years ago, that has gone unnoticed for 30 years, I wonder WHY he felt the need to confess now? Was it all that long ago and not more recently?
I am more worried about the fact that he was a journalist.... almost all lying scum, not suited to be in charge of public affairs.

Apparently there are now weeks of eliminations... to get down to TWO candidates... then the entire Tory Party membership get a (postal) vote deciding which of the 2 is leader. What a farce.

more polls...

Image
https://twitter.com/britainelects/statu ... 5373116417

It seems to me that polls are begining to show old Parties in a better position (downplaying Brexit Party support)... This may ease the "pressure" to get Brexit done at all? As in... it will be OK (for Labour at least) to delay, and call a general Election. Maybe the polls are correct? I do think that voters will revert to "old loyalties" to some extent and away from Farage's pretend party.

Labour ALREADY making moves to BLOCK "NO DEAL" Brexit
Labour Party backed by SNP, Lib Dems, Greens and Oliver Letwin

Labour – with the backing of a former Conservative minister, the Scottish National party, the Liberal Democrats and the Greens – will launch the first step in an audacious attempt to block a new prime minister from forcing through a no-deal Brexit.

Labour has tabled a cross-party motion that would hand control of the parliamentary agenda to MPs on Tuesday 25 June. If the motion passes, MPs will have the chance to introduce measures, including legislation, that could help avoid a no-deal Brexit at the end of October.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... eal-brexit

Speaker Bercow will assist in making such a resolution binding....
This will (almost certainly) result in a General election.. and Marxist Corbyn as PM

UK is DOOMED!!

-----
ETA - The vote FAILED by 11 votes
The Commons opposed the move by 309 votes to 298.
A small note of sanity.... but hardly exciting since it indicates at least 300+ MPs still hard-core remainers :roll

NOTE: 10 Tories voted YES to this daft thing!! :doh

RAGE UK! BBC faces backlash for axing free TV licences for over-75s as 230k sign petition and Tories seek law change
By Matt Dathan and Martin Beckford
11 Jun 2019, 22:30, Updated: 12 Jun 2019, 6:29

MORE than 230,000 people signed a petition demanding the BBC reverse its decision to axe free TV licences for over-75s.

Age UK amassed the signatures amid fury over the move to penalise pensioners rather than cut the salaries of star presenters.

--------------
The petition (249,246)
https://campaigns.ageuk.org.uk/page/342 ... d=1unr39mb

They MISS THE POINT... The UK "TV license fee" is a TAX that NOBODY should be forced to pay... not just OAPs...

The fee should be scrapped for all. The BBC is no different from other TV channels, or online content providers... in fact as far as I can tell the BBC is one of the most biased, corrupt and wasteful in regards costs. Their News department is FAKE NEWS and leftist propaganda. There used to be a "public service" aspect to BBC... and maybe there still is... but that is swamped by all the crap. They should cut the crap stuff out and maybe fund the "good work" via general taxation... if the taxpayers agree to that.

Reminder... shame people did not pay attention to Tommy Robinson's "Panodrama".....

DO NOT PAY - For A BBC TV Licence

Speaking of BBC (4).....

BBC defends Jo Brand over 'battery acid' joke
2 hours ago

Image

The BBC has defended Jo Brand against claims she incited violence through comments made during a radio show.

The comedian, a guest on BBC Radio 4's Heresy on Tuesday, joked about throwing battery acid at "unpleasant characters" rather than milkshakes.

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, who was hit by a milkshake last month, said "the police need to act".

The BBC said the jokes made on Heresy are "deliberately provocative as the title implies".

It added they are "not intended to be taken seriously."

Brand, speaking after Mr Farage and a number of far-right European election candidates were covered in milkshakes during campaign walkabouts in May, said "Why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?"

The comic then went on to immediately make clear she was joking and criticised the milkshake stunts.

"That's just me. I'm not going to do it," she said. "It's purely a fantasy, but I think milkshakes are pathetic, I honestly do, sorry."

I am NOT keen on anybody being sacked for stuff like this... so rather than sack Jo Brand... I would prefer it if the left could see the HYPOCRISY.. and reinstate (conservative) people who have previously lost jobs.

Eight 7 Tory leadership candidates declare themselves feminists

Candidates respond after Dominic Raab said he was ‘probably not’ a feminist

(One of the 8 named by Guardian is not a Tory Leadership runner) :roll

Most of the Conservative leadership candidates – Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt, Sajid Javid, Michael Gove, Matthew Hancock, Andrea Leadsom, Rory Stewart and James Cleverly – have all declared that they are feminists, after Dominic Raab said he was “probably not” one.

Feminists = "Man-hating Marxists" (Sargon)

I guess that wraps it up for 8 7 contenders, including Boris.

Not sure who is left... besides Dominic Raab... ?

Mark Harper
Esther McVey
Dominic Raab
