YAY! See ya tomorrow night.

This will be a practice match for NZ so they are ready for Saturday against Australia at my favorite stadium!

I can handle the earlier time.

NZ batting 1st will be good.... IF they can set a big target. :roll

IMO NZ need to get a move on.
It is a "bash or bust" game. The side batting first really have to set a big total.
Singles wont do it. As KP said "singles are like dots in a T20 game.
Preserving one's wicket with a view to upping the scoring later... NEVER works.

1st Wicket
C Munro 11 (13) SR: 84.61
New Zealand 39/1 * (4.4/20 ov) RR 8.35
-----------------
2nd Wicket
MJ Guptill 65 (40) SR: 162.50
New Zealand 121/2 * (13.4/20 ov) RR 8.85
-----------------
3rd Wicket
C de Grandhomme 0 (1) SR: 0.00
New Zealand 121/2 * (13.5/20 ov) RR 8.84
Image
Rashid on a Hat Trick.... NOPE
-----------------
4th Wicket
KS Williamson 72 (46) SR: 156.52
New Zealand 169/4 * (18/20 ov) RR 9.38
-----------------
5th Wicket
MS Chapman 20 (13) SR: 153.84
New Zealand 181/5 * (19/20 ov) RR 9.52
-----------------
Not out Batsmen
Tim Seifert 14 (6) SR: 233.33
Ross Taylor 1 (1) SR: 100.00

Note
Taylor faced his 1st (only) ball when NZ had 8 balls left to face and needed BOUNDARIES.
Taylor opted to take a single and lean on his bat at the non-striker's end. and leave it to the other (debut) batsmen

Well that was exciting, except for Grandhomme. :(
I like the score/target but would have liked to see them get over 200. That bogus review by England DID slow down the momentum.
Wish they had shown the sunset instead of England's sour faces on the players. Geesh, what is their problem? I noticed they are a diverse team. :roll

I think NZ's bowling will be strong. Just a hunch.
If I disappear, I'm watching on tablet and it's hard to post (lucky you).
So the next match is Friday for you, Thursday here. Glad I looked.

:)

ETA: YES, a hat-trick would be nice.
I have a cool smiley for it. ;)

Wickets are good... mainly because they slow RR

At this stage... dots and singles are all gold for NZ...

Wickets?.... Meh!

Weather Update - live from Auckland :cool

Weather GREAT.. and was yesterday as well so ground and pitch should be.... PERFECT :)

----------
I do support Australia generally and usually HOPE they beat NZ... that would be good today.... but for this match it would not be bad if NZ won and so eliminated the Poms from the final :roll
But, but.. all bets would be off for the final Australia V NZ.... I would want Australia to win.

Thanks for weather report, Rumpole. Didn't want to ask.

YAY, I get it on ESPN3 so it will be much better to watch. :)

I am pulling for New Zealand, obviously. :NN7

Eden Park is my favorite Cricket ground! Some day ....

As I mentioned last time....Eden Park is "small" as far as cricket goes... so easier than some grounds to score boundaries on....

With PERFECT weather conditions as well....I think a score of 200+ is a minimum requirement :cool

---
A couple of quick wickets will wipe the smile off NZ fans' faces :roll

Thanks for explaining the field. I thought NZ had turned up a notch.

I've got to do dishes, 5 min at max. That's when there will be a wicket, I bet. :stamp

Otherwise you can borrow my wicket-smiley. :D

ETA: Or maybe if you put your wicket-post up.

Prediction - 3x 8 over score

New Zealand 84/0 (8/20 ov) RR: 10.50 ====> Final score 252 :roll

-----------

NZ are playing well... as we always hope they will... on this occasion the aggressive batting (Guptill and Munro) is coming off.... as opposed to early wickets falling. Skill as well as luck. Ya kinda need both :)
Ya never know, Molly... you could miss a "Hat Trick" over the next 5 minutes :cool

LOL at hat-trick. Will dig out the smiley at innings break, just in case.

I like your total prediction. Only problem I have is... I know how good Aust. is and CAN chase a target. ;)

I want these two to stay in, Williamson ok-ish, so Taylor doesn't bat. :roll
----------------
ETA: I should have looked at the line-up. :doh
