Yeah I understand what "Pup" is saying... but most often people dont "catch up"

He was a great player, and captain....

Similar position to Steve Smith, but Smith has upped the statistical milestones.

Australia 132/3 * (25/50 ov) RR 5.27 =====> Final score 396 :)

Be nice if it is true :roll

Australia 196/4 * (35.2/50 ov) RR 5.54

Of course that was a good innings by Finch, but.....
His SR over the entire team would only achieve a total of 270.. which is..... CRAP :roll
And..... Finch used up a third of the balls available to the entire team.

And Marsh 47 (62) SR 75.80
STILL not "caught up" :roll
----------------
5th wicket
MR Marsh b Rashid 50 (68b 2x4 2x6) SR: 73.52

All I can think of, after the pitiful performance of Eng in the Test series is, finally some competition.

An early wicket is promising. ;)

Where is Lyon? Is he not in the line up for this match?

Lyon not in this ODI team.

The sort of play, the fields that can be set etc.... and the likely type of pitch (at least this time) is not suited to Lyon

The test team is not the same ODI team (or T20 team).. although there is always an overlap.

England can do this easily from here...

Only 2 wickets down, if they bat out 50 overs they should easily reach the target (Req RR 5.76)

This demonstrates my usual thought that it is best to get off to a flying start.. and then RELAX perhaps. I do not hold with the notion that it's OK to bat SLOWLY at the start and "catch up later" :roll

Australia 304/8
England 138/2 * (21/50 ov, target 305) RR 5.75

England require another 168 runs with 8 wickets and 29 overs remaining

Australia's only hope is to bowl England out... at least take a bunch of wickets... and that does not look at all likey

Arrogant Poms claim to be happy batting second.. they prefer it.

They say they can chase down ANYTHING.. even 350+ :roll

GREAT.. Australia do need to bat properly.. score 350+ and ask the Poms to put their money wher their mouth is!! :cool
