Ecuador: We have 'temporarily restricted' Assange's internet
By Gonzalo Solano, Raphael Satter | AP | October 18, 2016, 7:59PM ET

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — Ecuador's government acknowledged on Tuesday that it cut off WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's internet access at its embassy in London after the whistleblowing site published a trove of damaging emails from Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

The foreign ministry said that while it stands by its 2012 decision to grant Assange asylum based on legitimate concerns he faces political persecution, it respects other nations' sovereignty and doesn't interfere or support any candidate in foreign elections.

"The decision to make this information public is the exclusive responsibility of the WikiLeaks organization," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The recognition of the reprimand comes less than 24 hours after WikiLeaks tweeted that Ecuador had cut off Assange's access to the Internet on Saturday after the publication of Clinton's speeches to Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs.

In follow-up messages posted Tuesday, the group claimed U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had personally intervened to ask Ecuador to stop Assange from publishing documents about Clinton. Citing "multiple US sources," WikiLeaks said the request was made on the sidelines of a visit by Kerry and Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa last month to Colombia to show their support for a peace deal with leftist rebels.

The State Department denied the allegation and Correa's leftist government said it was acting on its own and not ceding to foreign pressures. The foreign ministry didn't specify the extent of the "temporary restrictions" on Assange, saying only that they wouldn't affect WikiLeaks' ability to carry out its journalistic activities.

After Wikileaks learned of Julian Assange's situation of being cutoff from the Internet on Saturday, they released these series of tweets on Sunday.
Each of these is called a Deadman's Switch.

John Kerry is in London. Perhaps he swung by the Ecuadorian Embassy.

This is how Wikileaks explained the Assange tweets. The long string of letter/numbers was a “file hash”.

A file hash is a randomly generated string of characters and numbers that can be used to identify a file. No two files will have the same hash, UNLESS they are exactly identical.

No two hashes will be the same unless the files are identical. In other words, Wikileaks is tweeting out proof that they have something, something important to whoever has the original files.

Someone else said that the reason Assange/Wikileaks posted the file hash was so that the originator at Team Clinton could go back and check and see what specific emails are hanging like the sword of Damocles over their head.

It is a very pointed game of chicken, Assange, “You take away my internet and look what I release”.

The way it was explained to me is that it is not about Wikileaks proving to the world that the emails attached to these particular “hashes” are legitimate unaltered emails but it about proving to the originator just what damning emails Wiki is in possession of because the originator can with the help of a techie search and find the specific emails in question.

3 things were mentioned to give Team Clinton a clue UK FCO, Ecuador and John Kerry. It is looking like the request to the Ecuadorian embassy to cut Assanage off came from that bastard Kerry.
It is not so much that the motivation of Assange or his people was explained but a reasonable scenario was put forth for the “file hashes”. So an educated guess was put forth.

The explanation of what the file hashes are came from Wikileaks. Wiki said that they were to assure that the file/email had not been altered.

Now the only person that would have any meaning for would be the originator of the email. It is my understanding that the hash files were not included to prove anything to the public but they were very specifically targeted to the originator(s) of the emails.

Thank you Carm for the update :28

Right now I am reading as much as I can about it. I trust very few websites. :)

Saw on twitter a few minutes ago that there is a large presence of police around the Embassy, but couldn't verify it anywhere. TRYING to stay off twitter except for news, and run into this kind of mess.

Thanks, again! :77

Hi Molly :69

There is I believe more mis-information about Assange's current situation than there is good information which makes it a bear to figure anything out. Wikileaks on Twitter is supposed to be the best source which of course makes sense.

This is also supposed to be credible.

wikileaks.org site was back up within about an hour of the incident. I am trying to decide exact motives and how I view Assange; but frankly would like to see some more data from them by now.

Having said that the data that has been put out is NOT getting enough analysis and attention AT ALL. MSM seems to be avoiding it or at least not digging through it very deep. FOX has mentioned it more than anyone. TYT has been very good at coverage of the wikileaks stuff and they are far far left wing point of view. But everyone else seems to be burying it or just not looking at it close.

IMHO

Exactly this there is so much that is damaging not only to Clinton but to the media which the Wikileaks is actually part of Team Clinton.

Swedish moves to interview Julian Assange in embassy welcomed by Ecuador

The Ecuadorian government has welcomed moves by the Swedish authorities to interview Julian Assange inside its embassy over a sex allegation.
PUBLISHED: November 13, 2016 16:30

Representatives from the Swedish prosecutor's officeand the Swedish police will be present while questions are put to the WikiLeaks founder by an Ecuadorian official on Monday.

Mr Assange has been granted political asylum by Ecuador and has been living inside the embassy for over four years.

He believes that if he leaves the embassy he will be extradited to the United States for questioning over the activities of WikiLeaks.

He denies the allegation against him and has been offering to be interviewed at the embassy.

A senior Swedish prosecutor has begun interviewing Julian Assange at Ecuador’s embassy in London, six years after a woman in Stockholm accused the WikiLeaks of rape.

Ingrid Isgren, Sweden’s deputy chief prosecutor, arrived at 9.30am on Monday at the central London embassy where Assange has been confined since June 2012.

Assange sought asylum from Ecuador to avoid extradition to Sweden over the accusation, which he denies.

Isgren was greeted by dozens of photographers, international TV crews and a small number of the Australian’s supporters, who unfurled banners and chanted their support. She paused briefly for photographs but did not speak to reporters.

Prosecutors have said they will not comment while the investigation is ongoing.

Three days have been set aside for the interview, which is being conducted by an Ecuadorian prosecutor, following a list of questions submitted earlier this year by the Swedish prosecution authority.

This rape charge has really bothered me since I read a while back that the woman accused him one day, she recanted the claim the next day (a Saturday if I remember correctly) and the charges were dropped. I'm going to read what happened since then to try to understand WTF is currently happening. :N2

The preliminary investigation into ’third degree rape’ was opened, dropped and then re-opened in quick succession over a space of ten days. On 1 September 2010 a prosecutor who heads one of four Swedish legal development centres made the decision to re-open the case. The centre takes on test cases, recommends changes to laws and policies, and ensures that certain cases are taken to the Supreme Court.

Assange Questioning in London Ends after Two Days

(AFP) – Wikileaks founder Julian Assange’s questioning at the Ecuadoran embassy in London over a longstanding rape allegation ended on Tuesday, Swedish prosecutors said.

The results of the questioning by an Ecuadoran prosecutor, which began on Monday, will not be provided immediately as the matter still “subject to confidentiality,” the Swedish prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

“After this report, the prosecutors will take a view on the continuation of the investigation,” it added.

Julian Assange lawyers to appeal to Donald Trump to end US probe
Jamie Bullen

Lawyers working on behalf of Julian Assange have revealed they will appeal to US President-elect Donald Trump to end a criminal investigation into the WikiLeaks founder.

Mr Assange was quizzed on Monday and Tuesday by Swedish prosecutors inside the Ecuadorian Embassy over sex allegations which he has denied.

The WikiLeaks founder is also subject to a criminal probe in the US over the publication of classified documents about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan provided by whistleblower Bradley Manning.

Carm wrote a "Blog" on the JA presser

Quote:
The Assange Interview
January 9, 2017 lovely

IMO the most salient truth of the entire interview which Julian makes is that the document widely being touted as an “Intelligence Report” is in the most basic and honest terms not an intelligence report at all but rather a press release clearly designed for political affect. Everything else falls into proper perspective after that truth is realized.

The propaganda is an open sourced document, it is an analysis of publicly known and previously reported on information, brought to a conclusion that was preordained before the first letter of “In conclusion” was ever typed out.

It is as Assange says important to understand that there is no evidence as in zip zero nada in the “report” that supports the opinion reached or rather alluded to in the conclusion of the report.

Every country with major intelligence agencies attempts to hack and successfully hacks other countries. It is the way of world. That is the objective conclusion of the “facts” presented in the press release being masqueraded as an intelligence report.

Julian also deftly analyzes the timing and deliberate conflation of “facts” by the authors of the report by calling attention to the beginning of the leaked Podesta emails into perspective. Wikileaks, Russia, the DNC, RNC, Soros, all PTB had no inkling that Trump would be the nominee in 2015 when the emails began to be made public. That puts a critical boot on the neck of the accepted conclusions of the intent of the leaks. Or as Julian eloquently put it, it puts A great fog in connecting Wiki to Russia and Russia to the election in America.

The report is a big nothing burger and it is an even bigger nothing burger without maliciously attributing intent to the leaks.

Julian thinks and speaks like an attorney. He is concrete whereas most people are viewing and interpreting the “report” in the abstract. Julian reminds us that the “report” is worded in such a way that no factual assertions are made in its conclusion, rather the “report” if read objectively states that its own conclusions are speculative conflations.

The propaganda value of the report is literally the only value that the genesis of the “report” could have hoped it would have as there is zero evidentiary weight to it. It carries zero legal weight.

The silver lining as Assange said is that the CIA, DOJ and FBI all validate Wikileaks as the “report” proves true that the emails released by them are legitimate and that both Donna Brazille and Tim Kaine lied when they said that the emails attributed to them were “falsified.”

Offering a $30,000 reward to anyone preserving documents that Obama is trying to destroy is brilliant. I imagine that Obama is as well liked as Hillary by those he lords power over, my guess is that someone who Obama has spit on will bite.

There is also this beautiful little nugget tucked in all those words;

Assange: “It is absolutely false that Wikileaks had access to RNC emails and chose not to leak them.” I suspect that announcement made a lot of MSM, DNC and PTB sigh in despair.

So we come down to a press release, disguised as an intelligence report, of absolutely no legal or evidentiary value, designed to do as Assange said two things 1) Keep the illegitimate liberal oligarchs in power and 2) delegitimize Trump’s presidency.

Obama has prosecuted journalists under the espionage act 3 times more than all the previous administrations combined. This “report” is about an out of control regime trying to to retain some semblance of power and perhaps keep themselves from charges of treason or dereliction of duty.

Remember it is rumored that after the Matt Lauer interview Hillary Clinton said “If he (Trump) wins we will all hang.” I for one do not believe that it is far fetched that Clinton, Obama, Holder, Lynch and all those in their inner circle are guilty of crimes against humanity and the United States of America.
