I was alerted to this case by reports of Crooked Hillary Tweets and comments.

Naturally jumping to conclusions.. blaming all "White people" and pandering to BLM types

I have not had time to read details.....

I see (alleged) lawyer Benjamin Crump is involved.. so likely a "shake-down" BLM case :doh

Video Shows Terence Crutcher Was Not Reaching Into Car When Shot, Lawyer Says
Robert Mackey
Sep. 21 2016, 10:11 a.m.

Terence Crutcher, an unarmed black man who was shot and killed by a white police officer in Oklahoma last week, was not reaching into his car when the fatal shot was fired, a lawyer for his family said on Tuesday.

Graphic video of the fatal shooting on Friday was recorded from two angles by Tulsa Police Department cameras mounted on a police helicopter and a police car.

Speaking to reporters outside the Tulsa County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon, Benjamin Crump, who is representing the dead man’s family, said that a streak of Crutcher’s blood on the glass, visible in a still image taken from the helicopter video, proved that the car window was closed when he was shot.

Crump accused a police department spokesperson, Officer Jeanne Mackenzie, of spreading “misinformation that he caused his own death” when she told reporters on Friday night that Crutcher had prompted the shooting by refusing to raise his hands and reaching into his vehicle.

Terence Crutcher: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
Published 1:27 pm EDT, September 19, 2016 Updated 6:08 pm EDT, September 20, 2016

A black man who was fatally shot by police in Oklahoma, after his car broke down in the road was unarmed, police say.

Terence Crutcher, 40, was shot September 16 in Tulsa, the Associated Press reports. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Tulsa Police said the shooting occurred near 36th Street and Lewis Avenue about 7:30 p.m., KOTV reports.

Crutcher’s SUV had stalled in the middle of the road, and police arrived to check on the situation, according to the news station.

“As they approached the vehicle a black male started towards them,” Tulsa Police spokesperson Jeanne Mackenzie told KOTV. “They asked him to show his hands. He refused to follow commands given by the officers. They continued to talk to him. He continued not to listen, not follow any commands as they got closer to the vehicle he reached inside the vehicle and at that time there was a Taser deployment and then a short time later there was one shot fired.”

The shooting was captured on a dashboard camera. The video was released to the public Monday afternoon. It was shown to family members and community leaders on Sunday.

The officer who shot Crutcher has been identified as Betty Shelby. The officer who deployed his Taser was named as Tyler Turnbough.

Police Chief Chuck Jordan said Shelby was on the way to another call when she encountered Crutcher and his vehicle. Jordan, who said he is unable to release many details because of open investigation, said Shelby requested backup because she was “not having cooperation” from Crutcher.

Crutcher was initially identified by police as Terrence Crutcher. He is also named in some public records as Terance Crutcher.

I know nothing about this except for what is posted here and have only seen it trending on twitter for days. Never clicked on hashtag, knew I'd get sucked in. I did see HRC's tweet about it today. Reaching for that black vote, IMO. :roll

I saw a tweet today that PCP was found in the car but didn't read the article.

Couldn't tell much from the videos. There sure are a lot of police standing there before he's shot.

Won't say much more until I know more. ;)

Officers said he was acting strangely, (not to mention that he parked his car in the middle of the road and LE had a call from someone who "thought" he was smoking something). Anyhow he clearly puts his right hand down and moves it near his waistband. Given all the thugs who are killing LE willy-nilly this looks like a clean shooting to me. If I was an officer I would have felt that I was in danger under the same circumstances.

His arms were not up when shot, strike one.

He was non compliant, strike two.

Crump is beating his chest, strike three.

PCP found in car, strike 4.

Terence a 40 year old father of 4 appears to have been unemployed and taking music classes at a community college, strike 5.

Felon strike 6

On probation strike 7

Violent history know to police, strike 8

MSM reports black man shot with his arms up with no qualifiers yet the same MSM reports PCP allegedly found in Terence's car.

I'll wait for more details but I expect a dirty too screen. This appears to be just another opportunity for feral folks to riot.

The officer involved in the shooting death of Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma has been charged with 1st degree manslaughter.

Image

Local district attorney Stephen Kunzweiler announced the charges against officer Betty Shelby on Thursday afternoon. "A warrant has been issued for her arrest," Kunzweiler said, adding that "arrangements are being made for her surrender to the Tulsa County Sheriffs Department."

The charges were filed despite the fact that Tulsa police has not yet released its report on the incident.

Terence Crutcher, 40, was shot last Friday, after police stopped to investigate his vehicle that had stalled in the road. The incident was caught on dashcams as well as a police helicopter, and appears to show Shelby opening fire as another officer prepared to use a taser.

Local District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler. Previously said he had to be sure of facts... apparently he has changed his mind since his presser?

I know it's early, but I hope we hear ALL the facts soon and this is not a ploy of appeasement. :roll

I am reading rumors that it was an "accidental discharge" of her gun.

If Crump or Sharpton involved it's a shake-down

If BOTH are involved.. it's a shake-down and a Lynchin'

They are talking about all the previews cases... Trayvon, Eric Garner etc (all shown to be justified).. as if they have a right to a conviction this time as "pay back"

Crump reprised the old "He had his hands up" Meme... stressing that this time they "Have it on video" (asopposed to totally made up for Mike Brown)

However... that is FAR from true.... the guy DID NOT have his hands up when shot and besides he was ignoring Cops and returning to his vehicle in defiance of what the cops were saying. IMO Crutcher was "off his face"

Breaking Video: O.K. Shooting Terence Crutcher

It is NOT proper police procedure to wait until you are shot.. then shoot back. IF the cops have a guy not following commands who reaches to his waist.. or into a car.. then he may well be reaching for a gun.

Based on what I see I would say the shooting is justified.

Seems like this is the officer who thought he was on PCP and reason she called for backup.

TPD Officer Betty Shelby Pleads 'Not Guilty' To First-Degree Manslaughter
By Tess Maune | NewsOn6 | September 30, 2016

Image

TULSA, Oklahoma - The Tulsa Police officer who is accused of shooting and killing Terence Crutcher two weeks ago went before a judge for the first time Friday morning.

Betty Shelby's arraignment on a first-degree manslaughter charge took less than three minutes, which is typical for an arraignment.

Betty Shelby walked into the courtroom with her attorney at just before 9 a.m. Terence Crutcher's family and attorneys were seated on the fourth row. Shelby and her attorney sat on the front row.

Shelby's case was first on the docket and she left the courthouse surrounded by friends who were off-duty Tulsa Police officers. She spoke only one time, saying 'yes' when the judge asked her if she was Betty Jo Shelby.

The judge read the charge, first-degree manslaughter - heat of passion.

Shelby's attorney Shannon McMurry entered a "not guilty" plea on Shelby's behalf, which is standard.
[...]
The judge set a date for the next hearing, November 29th at 9 a.m. That will be the preliminary hearing.

ME: Unarmed man fatally shot by Tulsa cop had PCP in his system
By CBS News/AP | October 11, 2016, 3:43PM

TULSA -- A medical examiner has found that an unarmed black man fatally shot by a white Tulsa police officer [Shelby] had the hallucinogenic drug PCP in his system when he died, reports CBS affiliate KOTV.

A toxicology report released by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office found Terence Crutcher had 96 nanograms per milliliter of phencyclidine, or PCP, in his bloodstream, according to the Tulsa World. The report said Crutcher had “acute phencyclidine intoxication,” according to KOTV.
[...]
Shelby told investigators that Crutcher refused repeated requests to stop and get on his knees and that she feared for her life, believing Crutcher was going to kill her, according to an affidavit filed with the manslaughter charge.

An attorney for Shelby has said the officer believed Crutcher was using PCP, and a police spokesman has confirmed the drug was found in Crutcher’s SUV.

Judge Orders Tulsa Officer Betty Shelby to Stand Trial for Manslaughter
By Julia Jacobo | ABC News | November 29, 2016

A judge has ordered the Tulsa police officer who shot and killed a 40-year-old black man in September to stand trial for manslaughter, according to the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office

Officer Betty Shelby appeared in court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday, where Judge Deborrah Ludi-Leitch said there was enough evidence for her to stand trial after reviewing police helicopter and dashcam video from the scene, according to the district attorney's office.

Shelby’s defense team was not surprised with the judge’s ruling because “the evidence is viewed in a light most favorable to the state” and “there’s a presumption that the state’s evidence will be stronger when presented at trial,” according to attorney Scott Wood.
[...]
Shelby turned herself in on Sept. 23 and was released 20 minutes later on $50,000 bond. She has pleaded not guilty and will appear in court next on Dec. 15.

Arraignment pushed to February for Officer Betty Shelby
By Franque Thompson | KTUL.com | December 15, 2016

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) - A new date for an arraignment will send Betty Shelby back to court in February. Thursday, the Tulsa officer was scheduled for an arraignment in Tulsa County District Court.

During a brief hearing, her attorneys asked a judge for more time. Shelby’s lawyers explained they’re waiting for transcripts from her preliminary hearing back in November. The defense said that information is needed in order to file motions before heading into trial for the death of Terence Crutcher.
[...]
The assistant DA said the transcripts should be available by the end of December. The defense has to file motions before its Jan. 13 deadline, and the state has to respond by Jan. 26.

With the extra time—the question raises if Shelby’s team will present the witnesses they were denied in the preliminary hearing.

“I don’t know what they may choose to do, but this would be the appropriate time to file that. So I would anticipate in their motion to quash they will address that issue,” said Gray.

The arraignment will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 9a.m.

Trial set for Tulsa officer charged in death of unarmed man
By KFOR.com | February 1, 2017

TULSA, Okla. – An Oklahoma police officer accused of manslaughter in the death of a Tulsa man last year will be going to trial in May.

Last September, 40-year-old Terence Crutcher was shot and killed by Tulsa Officer Betty Shelby after his car was stopped in the middle of a roadway.

Officers at the scene say Crutcher was acting erratically and was not following commands.
[...]
Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler charged Shelby with one count of first-degree manslaughter.

Shelby has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Associated Press reports that Shelby’s lawyer claims she was hyper-focused on the situation at the time of the shooting, adding that she didn’t hear other officers arrive at the scene or even the shot she fired.

Attorney Scott Wood claims Shelby experienced “auditory exclusion,” a condition in which people in high-stress situations often don’t hear sounds around them.

Shelby’s attorneys asked a judge to dismiss the charges against her, but that motion was denied.

Instead, the judge set Shelby’s trial date for May 8 at 1:30 p.m.
