THANKS for posting this. I follow the US Navy on one of my private lists and they were posting short videos that I watched.

I saw several vids on YT of him being interviewed but never watched any of them.

This looks like it may be more interesting, especially with the actual war footage. :)

4th July fun.....

Can you pass this citizenship test? Some questions are easy and some are not.

I got 70%… so I pass….

Not bad for a NZer/Welshman… but I was a bit disappointed to not do better

I KNOW there are US citizens who would do worse than me :)

I got 86% , 26 out of 30 but asked C for two answers. So should have been 80%.

Spoiler:
Year Constitution was written, knew 18?? but there were two of those dates.
I had no idea who was President during WW1. :roll

I missed N Mariana Islands as part of US. Never heard of it.
Missed high taxes as reason colonies fought Britain.
Didn't click all four of State run laws, thought land & zoning was Federal.
Can't remember the 4th one.

You did fantastic, Rumpole. But I've always known you know more about the US than MANY of our citizens... no doubt about that!

F U N!
Thanks :)

I dispute some of the questions/answers.

The US Territories one we discussed at CTH... the correct answer is NONE are not territories. There is no friggin answer that gets you a "correct" :doh

I think that as well as high taxes the revolution was also about no political representation.. and I got a fail for checking that as well as taxes.

The one about State responsibilities... I checked all... but figured that there must be one that was not correct... so unchecked one... I think it is too sneaky having all options that need checking.

Yeah I saw the discussion.

I went ahead and posted my poor score at CTH. I don't care. No one likes me over there anyway. ;)

Chris agrees with you about the revolution question.

I bet MANY at CTH will get poor scores... there are some genuinely stupid people there... but they wont reveal their true scores... because they are also dishonest.

Fotoflexer

Has been a fave image editor of mine.

It was actually associated with photobucket when I first got a photobucket account.. 10 years ago? Photobucket changed to their own editor (just the usual crap basic stuff)... but Fotoflexer was still available in it's own right as an image editor.

All of a sudden I could not access it... and that coincided with a windows10 update, so I actually wasted time with windows help.... and have always suspected that new updates may be responsible for me not being able to access Fotoflexer. I searched but found nothing about the demise of Fotoflexer... until today.... at Wikipedia :doh

History
FotoFlexer was founded by Arbor Labs, a team of graduate students and alumni from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, University of California at Berkeley, MIT, and Stanford University. The company’s offices are in Berkeley, California. Fotoflexer is led by CEO Sharam Shirazi. Shirazi has previously served as CEO of Empact Software Solutions, University Planet, Hyperstone electronics USA, and as CEO and Chairman of Teknekron Systems.

In early December of 2018, the site was abruptly shut down. As of this writing (March 30th, 2019), it remains down.

I have searched and have not found anything that can do what Fotoflexer did... at least not as simply (user friendly) :wall

ARTICLE....
Photobucket’s increasingly aggressive emails are the last straw for many people
28th February 2019

Since the turn of the year, many former Photobucket users have been receiving ever more desperate emails urging them to upgrade their Photobucket account.

They started off quite mild, but of late, they have become more urgent and demanding and it’s not helping their cause.

This all started back in June 2017 when the world woke up to find that all their third-party hosted images on Photobucket had been replaced with an error message, the dreaded P500 ‘dial of death’.

---------------------------------
The THREATS have got worse in last few days (since this article written)

Image

They are banging on about BANDWIDTH USE being exceeded... which makes no sense in my case at least.
Bandwidth use is different from "storage space" used. I already have THAT threat in emails and when (if) I logon to pb...

Image

I had BANDWIDTH issues back in the day... when I posted a LOT of photos and apparently that uses up bandwidth every time somebody just views them wherever they are posted. No problem most of the time, but on a couple of occasions I did exceed the monthly bandwidth limits (they say) and so my photos showed an error message in posts for a short period. However, I have NOT posted any photos from my pb account for about 2 years (or more).. so few, if any, people are viewing such photos. Older photos are NOT being viewed at RT.. or any of the old forums I posted at... in fact Justarse Quest is KAPUT as far as I can tell.. and besides NOBODY would be looking at 8 year old threads there anyway. and THOSE photos are not "fixed" and so remain restricted (blocked) by pb already. So where could there be bandwidth usage from my pb account?
I have found a way to "fix" old pb posts....make my old posted images visible again at RT (and remove the pb watermark)... but even that... is back in very OLD posts that nobody accesses... not even bots and spiders as far as I ever see.

For the record - My current account Status

Image

So... although I have MORE than 250 images... they are all VERY SMALL compared to modern-day higher resolution things. WAY LESS storage (and bandwidth) usage than the 2.5GB "allowed" (only 25.8%).
However... pb are Arseholes and I would never do business with them again in a million years...certainly never pay them for their complete lack of service, threats to customers, and the damned intrusive ads that have always made the place slow and annoying to use.
