Cilla Black's body was flown back to Britain today - almost week after she died in a fall at her Spanish home.

The 72-year-old star's coffin was put on to a Thomson Airways flight at Malaga Airport just before 11am for the journey back to Gatwick Airport.

Undertakers met it to prepare the singer turned TV presenter's body for her funeral service in Denham, Buckinghamshire, which may be next week.

It is expected to be held at St Mary the Virgin Church, the same church her beloved husband Bobby's funeral service was held at in 1999 after he died of cancer.

Cilla's grieving sons Robert, 45, Ben, 41, and Jack, 35, are due to travel back to the UK tomorrow.
They remained at the villa near Estepona their mother died at last Saturday afternoon after tumbling and hitting her head while she sunbathed on her bedroom terrace.

She laid undiscovered for around four hours after knocking herself out in the fall.
[.....]
The plane would have been packed with British holidaymakers returning home after a week in the sun - just like the one Cilla, 72, took last Friday to visit her Spanish holiday villa for the first time this year.

Lamar Odom is 'fighting for his life': NBA star and estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian found unconscious at Vegas brothel after 'days of partying'

By Zoe Nauman | DAILYMAIL.COM
UPDATED: 20:00 EST, 13 October 2015

Lamar Odom is said to be fighting for his life after falling unconscious while visiting a brothel in Nevada.
According to TMZ, the professional basketball player was at Dennis Hoff's Love Ranch South in Pahrump when the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The 35-year-old, according to a source, had been partying with girls there since Saturday.

'It's not good,' said a source.

He was discovered in his room unconscious by one of the women who immediately called for a manager, who turned the basketball player over and discovered 'mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth.'

Khloe Kardashian's ex had reportedly been taking an herbal Viagra substitute.

He was taken by ambulance to Pahrump hospital, where doctors intubated him which is usually an indication he could not breathe on his own.

He is being airlifted to Las Vegas for more treatment.

Ricky Gervais back as host of Golden Globes
By The Hollywood Reporter | CNN | October 26, 2015, 5:31PM

Image
Ricky Gervais during the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2012.

The Golden Globes has tapped a familiar face to host the 2016 telecast.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Monday that Ricky Gervais would return to emcee the January 10 telecast.

Gervais' return, which comes after three very highly-rated NBC telecasts hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, marks his fourth time managing the stage. He previously hosted in 2010, 2011 and 2012 — capping off a long run where the show had no host at all.
[...]
His tenure as host ended on a rather sour note, when then-HFPA President Phillip Berk said that the comedian "crossed the line" with some of his remarks. Gervais also had not been shy about his desire to not return to the show, but that appears to be water under the bridge.

The HFPA teased Gervais' return with a Monday Twitter post, picturing the comedian's silhouette with the tagline, "He's back."

"Ricky Gervais left us with a lasting impression and we are thrilled to have him back in our show as we honor the best in film and television," added HFPA president Lorenzo Soria. "His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats."

Does the DWTS Bindi Irwin contract controversy trending seem over the top to anyone else? Is this laying the ground to a ten year anniversary next year?

Hi LR! :28

I quit watching DWTS when Maksim :89 left. Saw earlier before this season started that Bindi is a contestant.

Looked up what you are talking about, and OMG, could this be any more crazy?

I think it is more about ratings for ABC than the 10-yr anniversary coming up. Just a hunch. :)

There's definitely more than meets the eye on this, though not sure who put the wheels in motion. TMZ is being credited on the coordinated media rollout like they're the new AP ticker ;)

Minor contracts don't have to be submitted to the court for approval. With Y2K came Coogan accounts because of case law proving the minor owns their income. Parents don't sign off on the rights to money ...parents have to prove they provided for their child.

Bindi as a minor had to provide proof of a trustee account that the producers have 15 days to pay 15% of earned funds into when she applied for a minor work permit. California issues six month permits (renewals) through DLSE (div labor standards enforcement) if no trustee account is set up permit reverts to ten days. No way is DWTS allowing a minor without a valid work permit go to air...especially a minor in the USA on a work visa.

Natalie Cole, legendary songstress, dead at 65
By Kristin McGrath | USA TODAY | 2:07 p.m. EST January 1, 2016

Her optimism amid personal struggles was inspirational. Her voice? Unforgettable.

Natalie Cole has died at age 65.

"I think that I am a walking testimony that you can have scars," she told CBS’s Sunday Morning in 2006. "You can go through turbulent times and still have victory in your life."

Cole died Thursday evening at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles due to complications from ongoing health issues, her family said in a statement.

"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived ... with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever," read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole.

By TMZ Staff | January 18, 2016

Glenn Frey, co-founder and guitarist for the Eagles, has died ... TMZ has learned.

We're told the cause of death was a combination of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia.

Frey had been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November. We're told in the last few days his condition took a turn for the worse. He died in New York City.

Glenn co-wrote and sang on most of the Eagles hits, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin' Eyes," and "Heartache Tonight," to name a few. He also co-wrote "Hotel California" and "Desperado" with Don Henley and took home 6 Grammys with the band.

After the Eagles' 1980 breakup, Glenn launched a successful solo career, recording numerous hits ... most notably "The Heat Is On" and "You Belong to the City."

R.I.P. Paul Kantner, co-founder of Jefferson Airplane, dead at 74
Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer passed away from multiple organ failure and septic shock
by Alex Young
on January 29, 2016, 1:56pm

Image

Paul Kantner, a co-founding member and singer-guitarist of Jefferson Airplane and later Jefferson Starship, has died. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Katner suffered a heart attack earlier this week and passed away Thursday from multiple organ failure and septic shock. He was 74 years old.

Alongside Marty Balin, Kantner formed Jefferson Airplane in 1965. Rumor has it that the band’s name was inspired by a slang term for a marijuana roach clip. Their pro-drug stance and psych-folk-rock sound quickly made them a fixture in San Francisco’s fledgling counterculture scene, where they performed alongside acts like Jerry Garcia, David Crosby, and Janis Joplin. They were taken under the wings of concert promoter Bill Graham, who promptly booked them to play San Francisco’s Fillmore. A record contract with RCA Victor soon followed.

I'm with Rumpole on televised award shows...but I'm a sucker for personal, family and close friend awards or memorable life events of any kind.

If I were still on Twitter I'd be yelling at Kanye for sure...along the lines of he didn't invest jack shit...he pissed away 53 million in fiscal trust and why oh why does he think these rants are gonna turn into fashion sales? And of course....his tweeting to Zuckerman instead of @jack makes me wonder if @jack said no nicely or explained his capital was already tied up in too many political races :Gslap

Ummm.... since it has been mentioned: Kanye coming out publicly to ask for money in the manner he has done (not to mention his pathetic set of circumstances apparently) makes me question the future of our human race.

EDIT: Behavior in different walks of life and mostly in social media / reality shows have proven to me our race as a whole stands little chance of survival. It also tends to negate my belief in a benevolent God.

=p

Wife of former Eagles member Randy Meisner killed in couple’s home
FOX News | March 7, 2016

Lana Rae Meisner, the wife of former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner, was accidentally shot and killed in the couple’s home Sunday night.

"Lana Meisner, wife of Eagles member Randy Meisner, was tragically shot with a firearm that accidentally discharged," the LAPD tweeted.

The police explained in a press release that after a thorough investigation it was determined her death occurred when she moved a firearm and it discharged.

"Mrs. Meisner was moving a rifle that was stored inside a case in a closet," the press release explained. "As she lifted the rifle in the case, another item within the case shifted and hit the trigger of the rifle causing it to fire and fatally injure Mrs. Meisner."

Multiple reports say Randy Meisner said he was in another room when he heard a gunshot.

The LAPD revealed police had been to the Meisner residence earlier in the day, at 5:30 p.m., and they took a domestic violence incident report and left. Around 7 p.m. police responded to a call regarding a shooting and Lana Rae Meisner was pronounced dead at the scene.
