Cosby faces:

3 felony counts of aggravated indecent assault.
In Pennsylvania law, that means he is accused of penetrating someone with part of his body without that person's consent.

That can include taking away that person's ability to refuse the penetration by holding them down or drugging them or carrying out the sex act when the person is unconscious.

So it's official now

Quote:
No (trial) date has been set yet, but CNN legal analyst Paul Callan predicts it could start in 9 to 12 months.

Cosby's next court appearance is January 14 for a preliminary hearing. He is now out on $1 million bail.

Good to see you here, Kermit! :28

I haven't paid much attention to this until Cosby was charged.

These are two articles I read that are brief and to the point, with clickable links to additional info. Enough to get the jest of the original complaint 10 years ago and Beth Ferrier is an interesting lady.

The Latest: Cosby’s Pennsylvania preliminary hearing on hold
By AP, The Washington Post | January 13, 2015, 6:05PM

WORCESTER, Mass. — The latest on a hearing over whether materials gathered in a defamation lawsuit filed by seven women against Bill Cosby can be kept out of the public eye (all times local):

4:55 p.m.
Bill Cosby’s preliminary hearing on criminal sex assault charges in Pennsylvania has been put on hold until a judge hears arguments on a defense bid to dismiss the case.

A judge will hear the motion to dismiss the case Feb. 2.

Cosby’s lawyers call the criminal charges illegal and politically motivated. They say Cosby had a deal that he would never be charged in the 2005 criminal probe and therefore gave a deposition in the accuser’s lawsuit.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele says there is no evidence of any such deal.

Steele’s office arrested the 78-year-old Cosby last month over a 2004 sexual encounter at his home.

A former Temple University employee says she was drugged and molested by the man she considered a mentor.

12:05 p.m.
A judge in the Massachusetts defamation suit filed against Bill Cosby by seven women who accuse him of sexual assault has rejected a proposal by the comedian’s lawyers that would have kept a significant amount of material in the case out of the public eye.

U.S. Magistrate Judge David Hennessy said Wednesday that protocol to protect potentially sensitive material like Social Security numbers and bank accounts from becoming public should be put in place in the case.

But he said the “blanket protective order” that Cosby’s lawyers proposed wasn’t appropriate.

Instead, the judge proposed more limited protections focused on information disclosed in depositions.

Both sides agreed to put the procedure in writing.

A lawyer for the women says he thinks the judge’s directions are appropriate.

Cosby’s lawyers declined to comment.

Bill Cosby’s lawyers want materials gathered in a civil defamation lawsuit filed by seven women who claim Cosby sexually assaulted them decades ago kept out of the public eye.

A federal magistrate in Massachusetts will hear arguments Wednesday on a confidentiality agreement proposed by lawyers for Cosby, who denies the allegations.

Bill Cosby Loses Appeal
By MaryClaire Dale, AP | ABC News | Feb 17, 2016

Bill Cosby's sexual-assault case appears to be headed toward an evidence hearing after a Pennsylvania judge refused to halt the criminal proceedings and ask the state Superior Court to review a key pretrial issue.

The 78-year-old TV star is accused of drugging and violating an ex-Temple University employee at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004 and could get 10 years in prison if convicted. The defense insists Cosby had a promise from a previous district attorney he would never be charged over the encounter.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill found the evidence of such an agreement lacking after a hearing this month. Cosby's lawyers then asked him to approve an immediate appeal of the issue to the Superior Court. That would have likely delayed the scheduled March 8 preliminary hearing.

However, O'Neill in a ruling Tuesday said the legal question involved does not warrant a direct appeal.

"An immediate appeal from these orders would not materially advance the ultimate termination of the matter," the judge wrote in a brief order.

A spokesman for Cosby's lawyers said they had no comment on the decision.

Not sure what should happen but Cosby obviously has a special place in 'hell' reserved for him =p

They aren't going to do anything to him imo. He's worth $400 million and has attorneys who will keep this ongoing. He will die knowing he didn't get by with it tho.

Deposition of Bill Cosby’s wife postponed
By Associated Press | WWLP.com | March 10, 2016

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A lawyer for seven women suing Bill Cosby for defamation says Cosby’s wife will answer questions under oath for a second day next month.

Camille Cosby answered questions on Feb. 22 and had been scheduled to undergo a second day of questioning next week. Attorney Joseph Cammarata said Mrs. Cosby’s new attorneys requested more time. Both sides agreed to continue her deposition on April 18.

They don't have a prenup...Camille will divorce him and walk away with lions share and they'll stall it long enough to vest what's left for him in trusts. In other words there won't be any money and his lawyers will keep stalling till he dies old old age to keep him out of jail or compromise for ankle monitored house arrest in a trust financed mansion.

Bill Cosby’s wife faces second deposition
By Cecelia Hanley | WDAM.com | April 19, 2016, 10:10AM

(CNN) - Bill Cosby's wife Camille is scheduled to testify Tuesday in the second part of a deposition in a civil suit against her husband.

A judge ruled last week that the deposition would move forward, despite Camille Cosby’s lawyers' attempts to terminate the second session.

The judge did, however, set limitations on the kinds of questions that lawyers could ask Mrs. Cosby.

She testified once in the defamation suit, brought by seven women who say Bill Cosby sexually assaulted them years ago.

Prosecutors fight Cosby bid to query 2,000 potential jurors
By Maryclaire Dale | AP | March 27, 2017

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Prosecutors in Bill Cosby's sex assault case in Pennsylvania objected Monday to defense efforts to prescreen as many as 2,000 potential jurors.

They also said in a court filing that the jury should be selected weeks before the scheduled June 5 trial so jurors can prepare to be sequestered nearly 300 miles away from home. And they challenged defense claims that it will be tough to find people without opinions of the longtime Hollywood icon.

In a sometimes caustic court filing, they called that "a cynical view of the potential jurors in Allegheny County."

"Defendant forecasts that jury selection will take weeks; we are confident that it will not," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said, noting that it took just a day to pick jurors for the state attorney general's perjury trial last year.

Bill Cosby Trial Draws to a Close Without Him Testifying
By Maryclaire Dale, Michael R. Sisak | Associated Press | June 12, 2017, 5:16PM

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Bill Cosby‘s trial raced toward a close Monday, with his lawyer telling the jury that the comedian and the woman who accuses him of drugging and molesting her more than a decade ago were lovers who had enjoyed secret “romantic interludes.”

Prosecutors countered by saying “fancy lawyering” can’t save Cosby from his own words — namely, his admission about groping Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia estate after giving her pills he knew could put her to sleep.

“Drugging somebody and putting them in a position where you can do what you want with them is not romantic. It’s criminal,” District Attorney Kevin Steele said in his closing argument.

The jury of seven men and five women was expected to get the case later in the day. A conviction could send the 79-year-old Cosby, once one of the most beloved entertainers in all of show business, to prison for the rest of his life.

The two sides launched into their closing arguments after the defense put on a case that consisted of just one witness — a detective — and six minutes of testimony. Cosby himself chose not to take the stand, ending days of suspense over whether the jury would hear directly from him.

Cosby seeks new legal team ahead of sexual assault retrial
By Associated Press | August 22, 2017

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Bill Cosby wants a judge to sign off on a swap that would give him a fresh new legal team ahead of his sexual assault retrial in Pennsylvania in November.

Cosby is expected in court Tuesday morning in Norristown as the lawyers who fought to a deadlock in his June trial ask to be let off the case.

A spokesman for the 80-year-old comedian Monday announced the hiring of a new team, which includes Tom Mesereau (MES’-eh-row), the high-profile attorney who won an acquittal in Michael Jackson’s child molestation case.

Mesereau didn’t return a voicemail seeking comment. A district attorney spokeswoman declined to comment.

Cosby’s retrial delayed as new legal team joins case

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Bill Cosby’s retrial on sexual assault charges will be delayed until next year as his new legal team gets up to speed on the case, which pits the 80-year-old comedian against a woman who says he drugged and molested her more than a decade ago.

Judge Steven O’Neill on Tuesday granted a defense request to postpone the retrial, which had been scheduled to start in November, saying there’s no way that Cosby’s lawyers would be ready by then.

“To ask someone to review the voluminous record over 18 months — now 20 months in this case — simply cannot be done,” O’Neill said from the bench.

The judge on Tuesday asked Cosby’s lawyers to consider a start date sometime between March 15 and April 1. He said he’ll issue a firm date once they get back to him.

Judge moves Bill Cosby jury selection to April 2, nixes big delay
By Associated Press | 6ABC.com | March 19, 2018

PHILADELPHIA -- A judge is pushing back the start of Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial just a few days after rejecting his lawyers' demands for a three-month delay.

Judge Steven O'Neill on Monday moved the start of jury selection to April 2 from March 29. He scheduled hearings March 29 and 30 to resolve pretrial issues.

Cosby's lawyers were pressing for a longer delay after O'Neill ruled last week that up to five additional accusers could testify. They argued they needed more time to investigate the women's allegations and work up a defense.
