In honor of my Mama who always called me "fresh" . . . :77

"Figg" Recipes

Forget about dried figs. If you've ever had fresh figs, you know there's a world of difference. Sweet and honeyed with an unusual texture, fresh figs are to be savored like the special fruits they are.

(After all, they were thought to be foods of the gods.) Eaten right out of hand figs are delicious, but using them in recipes is another smart way to enjoy the delicate and often scarce summer fruit

BTW, fresh figs are "on sale" this week for $7.00 (2 packages for the price of one) at my supermarket. They have 4 different varieties available: Brown Turkey, Calimyrna, Kadota and Mission. I wasn't sure which ones were best?

Yes, but they should also be tasty too, right?

Yes they have slightly different flavours.. matter of personal preference... I don't like them too sweet and sickly.

Size is important.. actually the smaller ones have seemed better to me.. but the big ones are good too.
