Excerpt from Women for Schapelle BlogSpot may be worth a read and looked into further.

Schapelle Corby - Australian authorities REFUSE to investigate the Sydney Airport baggage handlers who imported millions of dollars worth of drugs, using innocent passengers as unwitting mules

A further formal complaint to ACLEI . . .

Dear Philip,

In 2004, QANTAS's Sydney Airport baggage handlers imported 200 kilos of cocaine into Australia, using innocent passengers like Gary MacDonald as accidental drug mules. Further, the Australian Federal Police fully admitted the criminality of these workers in a formal report to the Australian Senate, on page 8 (point 3.1), of their 2009 submission.

I don't think some bad Qantas baggage handlers importing cocaine into Australia (true or false) is relevant to Corby taking a huge bag of weed to Bali?

Schapelle Corby to walk free after parole approved
February 7, 2014 - 9:59PM
Michael Bachelard

Indonesian officials have approved Schapelle Corby's parole, opening the way for her to walk out of Kerobokan prison for the first time in over nine years.

It is unclear whether the official documents must be delivered to the prison in hard copy before she can be released into the care of her sister, Mercedes, but there was speculation on Friday night that the orders may have been faxed to the prison and the release could be as early as Monday.

On one version of events, she would leave wearing full Muslim head coverings in the dark.

Asked about a date of release, Indonesian justice minister Amir Syamsuddin said that was a "technical issue" and a decision for the governor of Kerobokan prison.

The first thing Corby will confront will be media attention of the kind she has spent much of the past nine years avoiding by hiding in her cell and avoiding the prison's open visiting yard.

A throng of local and Australian media has gathered in Kerobokan to document the release of a prisoner whose story became sensation, and to try to catch early glimpses of her post-prison life.

Glad to hear this but wish she didn't have to stay in Indonesia. They may get her again. It is known how tough they are on drug crimes. Ugh.

The Expendable Project still claims that evidence was withheld for political gain. Many reports at link.

The Moral of the story is... when visiting places in Asia with strict drug laws and harsh penalties... leave your sack of dope back home :roll

It's ridiculous to imagine a conspiracy.. just to lock up an unknown (innocent) dim Australian woman. :tinfoil

Like all conspiracy theories... it would involve lots of people and lots of effort for no reason.

Occam’s razor: (and all the evidence I saw suggests) Schapelle was guilty (and stupid to try it)

The penalty worked out quite lenient (by Indonesian standards). She is lucky she got out after such a short time.. in fact lucky she did not get DP.

Schapelle Corby released from Kerobokan Prison
Yahoo!7 and agencies February 10, 2014, 8:50 pm

Image

Released drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has so far obscured her face from the world, with even the Indonesian parole authorities who will be monitoring her given only a brief glimpse.

Corby was released on Monday from Kerobokan Prison in Bali after nine years in jail, and has been keeping her comments to officials brief.

The 36-year-old said nothing to the dozens of reporters screaming questions at her.

Corby cried in the prosecutor's office when asked how she was, saying she felt traumatised by the enormous jostling media pack that had tailed her since her release.

"We asked her about her condition and she once cried, saying she's still in trauma over the journalists," said Agung Bagus Kusimantara, head of the Intelligence Section in Denpasar's Prosecutions Office.

Corby faces freedom in faceless fashion
AAP
By Gabrielle Dunlevy and Eoin Blackwell February 10, 2014, 6:54 pm

The saga of convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has at times resembled a soap opera, and her release from jail - swaddled in cloth to conceal her face - was yet another bizarre episode.

Corby emerged on Monday from Bali's Kerobokan Prison nine years after she went in, convicted of smuggling marijuana into the holiday island and sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment.

More than 100 police officers turned out to aid her exit from the prison, where scores of shouting, shoving journalists have been camped since news came that the 36-year-old's release on parole was close.

There was little to report.

Corby said nothing and her face was wrapped in a thin sarong, a black scarf and a white hat, giving the cameras little more than an outline of her visage.

It is believed Corby went to such lengths to remain under wraps to collect the proceeds of an exclusive TV deal with the Seven Network, reportedly worth as much as $3 million.

As a prison van transported Corby to her first stop outside jail, the prosecutor's office, she was tailed through the narrow streets by dozens of jostling international reporters and photographers, some on mopeds, others in cars.

At the prosecutor's office, where she was fingerprinted, journalists used cameras on poles to pry into the interview room, with little success.

It was the same for her next trip, to the corrections office, with the trail of desperate media again failing to capture her image.

Even the official in charge of corrections, Ketut Artha, was granted only a glance at Corby's face.

No doubt she will try to accomodate those who will pay the most. And you're right she's lucky she didn't get the DP as Indonesia has a record of executing drug dealers. So I'll spare you any more reading of conspiracy theories or I'll try to but no promises. Hahaa

I do wish her sister could have gotten those AFP reports just to hopefully rule some things out but no go. Her case was sensationalized big time and part of this was due to all the emotional stuff, but also it sure brought out her less than classy family tree from all I've been reading, so most people do tend to believe that the apple doesn't fall far.

:D

You can post the theories, Packy

I have mostly forgotten the details... but I was convinced at the time that she was guilty :)

and given that it was Indonesia... got off very lightly.

She has done her time......I wish her well... but hope she stays out of the news

I agree she got off lightly considering it was Indonesia. At least Indonesia does consider good behavior which helps one get out a little earlier.

Schapelle Corby admitted her guilt, says Bali Nine courier Renae Lawrence
April 8, 2014 - 5:24AM
Michael Bachelard

Jakarta: Schapelle Corby admitted her guilt and said the fateful 2004 drug run that saw her locked up for 10 years was actually her fourth trip to Bali as a courier, according to fellow Australian prisoner Renae Lawrence.

Lawrence, one of the Bali Nine heroin couriers, has also alleged in an interview broadcast on the Ten Network that Corby faked mental illness to get a shorter sentence — a tactic that worked.

Corby was granted a five-year sentence reduction in 2012 by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who cited compassionate grounds because of the Australian’s mental illness. This is likely to be the most damaging revelation from the interview.

A spokesman for the Indonesian Justice and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin said of that allegation: “That is her [Corby's] good luck”. However, if the Indonesian media pick up the line and use it to criticise Dr Yudhoyono for being too cosy with Australia, it may affect Corby’s parole. As it stands, the minister is still considering whether to send her back to Kerobokan prison over sister Mercedes’ interview last month with Channel Seven’s Mike Willesee.

But the allegation about previous drug runs would change nothing, said two Indonesian government spokesmen. Corby had been convicted and served the bulk of her sentence and there was no evidence of other trips, they said.

In the interview, Lawrence said in the five years she lived in the same cell block as Corby, she “did a good job on keeping secrets but she let one slip one night” to Lawrence and another prisoner.

Hmmm that's interesting.

And Renae is quite a character it seems if it's true she conspired to have someone killed.

Excerpt

The Corbys have also denied the new allegations, saying they are “extremely hurtful”.

If Lawrence is punished, it will not be the first time.

The 36-year-old was moved from Kerobokan jail to another prison in Bali in October, accused of conspiring with another inmate to murder two female prison guards.

But she was transferred to a less isolated jail last month due to good behaviour.

A spokeswoman for Network Ten told media news website Mumbrella that it paid a small fee to an agency, not to Lawrence, for the interview

Schapelle Corby's supervision tightened after boyfriend's arrest
Published: 8:00AM Saturday August 30, 2014 Source: AAP

Image

Schapelle Corby's parole will be given greater scrutiny and she faces a severe warning after her boyfriend was allegedly caught with marijuana.

Ben Panangian, 32, allegedly arrived by motorbike at his friend's Nusa Dua home on August 20 as police were raiding the address for drugs.

A police report says he tried to run from the scene and threw an item on the ground, which was found to be hashish.

When police searched the Kuta room he rents, they allegedly found more marijuana in his cupboard.

Corby, 37, is free on parole in Bali under the condition she stay away from drugs and crime.

Parole board boss Ketut Artha says officers will now watch the convicted drug smuggler more closely.

He may also personally warn her about the company she is keeping, but he will not revoke her parole.

This is one lucky woman. I had completely forgotten about this case. I was in Australia on holiday in 2005 when i first heard about this.

Subsequent reads about a scam being run by Ozzie border security is just too much of a tall tale to swallow, given that an awful lot of people - indeed a ring, would have had to be involved.

I believe anyone taking a chance, particularly in a country known for its strict laws on drugs etc., do so at their own risk, and if caught - more fool them for thinking they'd get away with it, then if caught they should have the book thrown at them.

I hope she realizes how lucky she is, I'm sure she does, as she will have become acquanted with some vile stories whilst in prison.
