Thanks for the update, Packy.

I didn't follow the trial details either, but from news items there seemed more than enough evidence of several incidents... 1 is too many so a good result.

( Since we both commented on the Peter Ellis case... I have moved some posts to start a separate "Peter Ellis" thread)

There's a 'sort of' similar case going on now. In August, at a holy-roller church in Kansas, the black preacher skipped town after resigning suddenly and he likely took all the money. Shortly thereafter, they jailed his 25 yr. old son on child molestation charges. He's been to court 3 or 4 times and so far has 13 victims pressing charges. The more time that passes the more victims come forward.

My question is this: Does anyone know how much jail time this idiot could get if he's convicted of all the charges? It seems to me it could be a good long jail time since there were so many victims.

Jerry Sandusky Appeal Moves Forward as Paterno's Son Denies 1976 Claim
By J. Wheaton | Newsmax.com | May 6, 2016

Jerry Sandusky is seeking a new appeal of his child sex abuse conviction, and a judge on Thursday granted him a May 20 hearing on the matter.

The former Penn State assistant football coach is serving 30 to 60 years in prison after being convicted in 2012 of 45 counts of child sexual abuse. The evidentiary hearing, granted by Judge John Cleland, will test claims that prosecutors deceived jurors, withheld evidence, or leaked secret information, Penn Live reported.

"I could write a book about what has happened. Unmask accusers. Demonstrate improprieties. Present illegalities. Show unfairness. Reveal deception, dishonesty and corruption. … I am an innocent man serving what amounts to a life sentence," Sandusky, 72, wrote in a statement read by his attorney Monday, according to an additional report by Penn Live.

Sandusky Judge Denies Motion for Recusal
By Geoff Rushton | StateCollege.com | May 11, 2016

Senior Judge John Cleland on Tuesday denied a motion that he recuse himself from Jerry Sandusky's appeal to gain a new trial.

The McKean County judge has been specially presiding over the Sandusky case since the former Penn State assistant coach and Second Mile founder's 2011 arrest and 2012 trial, where he was convicted on 45 counts related to child sexual abuse.

Sandusky attorneys Al Lindsay and Andrew Salemme filed a motion for Cleland to remove himself from further proceedings because he was present at a meeting out of court when Sandusky's trial attorney Joe Amendola reached an agreement with prosecutors for Sandusky to waive his preliminary hearing in December 2011.

Amendola's decision to waive the preliminary hearing is part of Sandusky's claim that he received ineffective counsel at his first trial, which is one of his central arguments for seeking a new trial.

But in his ruling, Cleland said he was only present at the meeting to address any administrative issues that might arise. He said the meeting was conducted by Magisterial Senior Judge Robert E. Scott, who was appointed to specially preside over the preliminary hearing.

Former Sandusky lawyer pleads guilty
By The Indiana Gazette | May 13, 2016

CARLISLE (AP) — An attorney who represented former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky at his sex abuse trial has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $750,000 from clients.

Pennlive.com reported Karl Rominger, 42, of Carlisle, pleaded guilty in Cumberland County Court on Thursday to charges of theft by deception and misappropriation.

Prosecutors said he took about $767,000 in client funds and spent it on casino gambling and other interests.

Sentencing is Aug. 4. Sentencing guidelines call for nine to 16 months in prison.

Rominger voluntarily surrendered his law license and was disbarred last spring.

Sandusky was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys. He is serving a 30- to 60-year prison term.

This is an evidentiary hearing on Sandusky's request for new appeal. He is claiming that prosecutors deceived jurors, withheld evidence, or leaked secret information -- in his trial.
I will update when there is a decision.

Jerry Sandusky appeal hearing set for Friday is cancelled;
to be rescheduled at later date
By Charles Thompson | PennLive.com | May 18, 2016

Judge John Cleland has cancelled a scheduled Friday hearing on convicted child sex predator Jerry Sandusky's latest round of appeals.

Cleland gave no reason for the cancellation, but noted that the decision was taken with the agreement of both Sandusky's appellate team and prosecutors with the Attorney General's office.

Cleland said he will reschedule the hearing through a follow-up order.

On stand for first time, Sandusky maintains innocence, blames lawyer for questionable TV spot
By Colin Deppen | PennLive.com | August 12, 2016

BELLEFONTE — In an appeal hearing here on Friday, one-time Penn State football luminary and convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky took the stand for the first time in his years-long legal saga, claiming errors in his defense that warrant a new trial.

Sandusky, now 72, was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys after a widely publicized and at times circus-like trial here in 2012. It ended with Sandusky being convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

On Friday, the former defensive coach returned to the Centre County Courthouse, where his 2012 trial took place, to argue that his lawyers had been ineffective and that as a result he was denied a fair trial. Friday was the first day in a three-day appeals hearing that will reconvene later in the month.

Sandusky argued that then-defense lawyer Joe Amendola pushed him into a nationally televised interview with NBC broadcaster Bob Costas in which many felt Sandusky, while trying to maintain his innocence, came oddly close to conceding boundary issues with boys.

Sandusky said Amendola failed to prepare him for the interview or explain that what he said could be used against him at trial.

Sandusky, Cosby and Ailes are all as guilty as they appear. Rather it can be proved in our court system under the rule of law I am not sure.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- One of Jerry Sandusky's adult sons faces multiple charges of sexual offenses involving children, more than five years after the former Penn State assistant coach was himself first arrested.

Court records filed Monday say 41-year-old Jeffrey S. Sandusky was charged with 14 counts, including criminal solicitation and corruption of minors.

The online court docket says Jeffrey Sandusky was arraigned Monday and bail was set at $200,000. He's currently in the Centre County Correctional Facility.

I am wondering if he was sexually abused by his own father. My guess is yes.

Does it excuse any behavior? No. But this is damn weird.
