Bond was set Tuesday at $1 million each for two Franklin men accused of beating a Dayton teen to death while robbing him for drugs and money.

Michael A. Geldrich, 36, and Michael J. Watson, 39, both of Franklin, appeared for a video arraignment at 3 p.m. in Franklin Municipal Court where they were issued court-appointed attorneys. The men, who are charged with aggravated robbery and murder, are being housed at the Warren County Jail.

Judge Rupert Ruppert set a preliminary hearing for Dec. 10 and said the case could go directly to a grand jury. He told the defendants that depending on the grand jury’s determination, this could become a death penalty case.

This case involving rape and murder of Dione Payne is the latest "cause célèbre" at InSession2 (formerly Justice Quest).
Lots of Daft posting from the usual daft posters (Traybot Worriers) and the case filed under "crimes against children".. and a "victim" decreed :roll
We even have family releasing a photo of 12 year old cherub.. whereas the deceased was in fact an apparent scumbag, drug dealer (certainly NOT a 12 year old child), who looked very different in photos from his own social media. (ring any bells?)

Family Released photo ............Dione Payne in 2012.
12 year old Dione..................Dione Payne's Facebook page.
Image Image

Over at InSession2 (formerly Justice Quest).... "Victim bashing" is causing dissension and complaints amongst the Traybot Worriers.... but rational assessments are not shut down.... YET! :)
Good 'ole "pixies" is on to it :86

This is so great! Image

Twist it until something clicks.

He was a drug dealer. He was a criminal who died while committing a crime. He also took a gun and tried to shoot someone in the past so you have a 16 year old thug with guns and drugs.

I am not sure the case warrants an RT thread of it's own? But I am open to a request. :cool
To discuss the case and NOT the daft at JQ

As I predicted... the FALSE narrative of a 12 year old cheub "victim" has been presented to the gullible, daft old dears... and they are lapping it up... IMPRINTED with a false impression as they were (and still are) in regards the TM case

This pic is a pic supplied by the family.. of a 12 year old... Dione aged 16 looks VERY different in his own fb pics.

I don't care that he got dropped for drugs and dealing. What pisses me off is that they raped him. No one age, sex religious affinity, race should ever have to go through that.

Well, sometime in the next week they should be getting the autopsy reports. And you are correct on the allegedly. Sorry I see red on rape.

Like I said. Sorry he got killed over drugs but he was a hot mess. Talked about getting killed in a drive-by. That didn't happen.

And following that hearing....

Cases of 2 Franklin men accused in teen’s beating death sent to grand jury
Posted: 7:12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013
By Lauren Pack, Staff Writer

FRANKLIN — A Warren County grand jury will now consider the cases of two Franklin men accused of beating a Dayton teen to death during a robbery.

Michael A. Geldrich, 36, and Michael J. Watson, 39, who are both being held on $1 million bonds, appeared in Franklin Municipal Court on Tuesday evening. After a preliminary hearing, Judge Rupert Ruppert found sufficient evidence to send the cases to a grand jury.

The men, who are charged with aggravated robbery and murder, are being housed at the Warren County Jail.

Geldrich and Watson planned the robbery of Dione Payne, 16, of Dayton, who had been staying at Geldrich’s house on Vernon Street, according to a sworn affidavit signed Dec. 2 by Franklin Detective Jeff Stewart.

“During the robbery Geldrich struck the male victim (later identified as Payne) with a table leg, fists, stomped the male with his boots and repeatedly struck the male victim’s head against the floor,” Stewart said in the affidavit obtained exclusively by this newspaper.

The story mentions again "....teen appeared to have been sexually assaulted, according to the police report."

But I guess Medical examiners did not confirm that?

Never fear Deb... RAPE is imprinted on the Traybot Worriers... it will continue to be a talking point and "Real" in their minds :)

New details emerge in teen’s beating death
Updated: 3:07 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 | Posted: 7:12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013

The men, who are charged with aggravated robbery and murder, were transported from the Warren County Jail in Lebanon for the short hearing. Both were shackled and handcuffed during the proceeding.

Geldrich and Watson planned the robbery of Dione Payne, 16, of Dayton, who had been staying at Geldrich’s house on Vernon Street, according to a sworn affidavit signed Dec. 2 by Franklin Detective Jeff Stewart.

A few details of that alleged plan emerged during the preliminary hearing when Stewart took the stand.

Watson, known as Jay to friends and family, was living in a shed on Victoria Street when he got a text message during the early morning hours of Dec. 1 from Geldrich, Stewart said.

During questioning by the detective, Watson said Geldrich told him he wanted to “rob this dude who was staying at the house.”

Watson said the original plan was to throw a pillow case over Payne’s head, rob him of his “dope and money” then take him some place and leave him.

That plan changed when Watson asked Geldrich if he really thought Payne would just let him put a pillow case over his head, Stewart said Watson told him.

Watson told Stewart that Geldrich then picked up a table leg at the garage of his Vernon Street residence, went into the house where Payne was asleep sitting up on the couch and hit the teen twice in the face, the detective said.

“He (Watson) heard (Payne) gasp, then he said Geldrich threw him on the floor and continued to assault him.”

Watson said Geldrich did not want Payne to know he was the person who robbed him, so his role was to be the voice in the room asking where the money and drug were. The pillow case was placed over Payne’s head after he was on the floor.

Stewart said Watson did not indicate they got anything from Payne, but Geldrich said they took heroin, cocaine and $250 in cash from Payne.
