Is there anything I can do to make Lucy and Lilly become friends? I think Lucy (beagle - old) was so spoiled, and I just felt soooo sorry for poor injured, starving Lilly that I babied her in front of Lucy. Couldn't help it, she needed everything TLC. Lucy was very spoiled especially because of her two major surgeries.

Walk right past each other, two ships passing in the night. Awhile back, Lilly used to sleep on Lucy's hassock (chair/set). But since I put that one box on the floor to get thrown out... THAT WAS IT! The BOX it is! And too, the floor must be cooler here.

Lilly is a great Event Planner. I think she could have taught the infamous Casey Anthony a thing or two. Very interesting days - she plans. Looks out of the double doors at people/dogs going by, birds, critters, and two screened windows too, napping EVERYWHERE (cat naps?) :89 , jumping on my lap when I sit in my chair, jumping on my kitchen chair when I am in there telling me she wants her "snack", etc. How cute they are - doing so many things in one day.

I should have had a cat too ... all my life. Some of each. The BESt of all worlds. :79

Bless The Beasts And The Children :DN4

London isn't the only place Olympics are happening. I announced, "OK girls - do you want to EAT now?" They hear EAT and flip out! :91

Older Lucy started walking to her dish ... and she wasn't fast enough for Lilly, so without warning, Lilly just jumped over Lucy (who has a long long body - Beagle/Basset), tail to head ... and ran to HER dish. Poetry in motion... wow! You can TELL I am really enjoying the beauty and uniqueness of a feline!! Amazing. :6

Ha ha yes it was. She amazes me somehow ... daily.
What I've been missing ... but better late than never.

My Lilly is much more graceful than all those athletes... yours too?
Jumping seems effortless. Flies thru the air like a bird.

I see her stand up very tall, checking things out on my table, looking around to see if she has room to land! (It is a table of "my favorite things".) Love that little girl so much!

Anytime I leave a room ...

Me And My Shadow :DN4 (Lilly) Many times Lucy too. Are all cats like this?

Thanks MM. Head spinning. Now even Martha Stewart has a line for pets!! :11
I am searching and searching for Lilly. I see the problem - and SO do THEY! :31
They have ~
Waterless shampoo
Cat wipes
No rinsing shampoo
Waterless foaming shampoo
Tearless non rinsing shampoo
Deodorizing cat wipes

I found a lovely Oatmeal shampoo for my dog Lucy. I know oatmeal is so soothing and gentle to the skin ...then I read the ingredients. Can't even pronounce them!! Oh yes Oatmeal is in there - somewhere. :45

Anything -- but that WATER for the cats?? This is too funny!!! :12

Friend sent me a message about cat bites and infections. Didn't know about that.
She normally would never hurt me. Who knows if really scared? She gives me little love bites ... on my finger nail.

OH boy ... WHERE is my winter coat?

Awww I had to catch up on all of this cat talk. Hope you got your Lily and Lucy more together now, Joni.

I had to keep gates up because one of my dogs hates cats so they played stare at each other all day. It was almost like a ritual. The cat had the whole upstairs and the dogs had the downstairs. Oh the cat could go into the dining room and come right up to the gates. It was so cute and I think they looked forward to their game.

Pack hi! Nice to see you.
It didn't take my girls long to know they were both "safe" with each other. AWFUL at first ... I kept Lilly in a bedroom. Once that was over and no fear for ANY OF US ... whew ... a great relief. I think they like each other but don't interact. Why ... not sure.
Lucy surely must be jealous as Lilly loves my lap!!! But she is old now, just looks ... then puts her head down and goes back to sleep. I always talk to her - then... to make her feel loved. :81
Lucy has her own nice soft chair/ottoman, and very soft throws so she can make her "nest". LOL
Lilly sleeps in her box, or anywhere she wants to! :8

Hi Joni & Packy!

I have a gate up to keep the cat and dog separated when I'm not home. Otherwise the dog would annoy the cat all day! My dog gets the bed and the upstairs and the cat gets the downstairs! When I'm home, they can play together, if and when they want to. It's so cute when the cat wants to play with the dog!!! :89 (It's not as cute when the dog wants to play and the cat doesn't! :84 )

I am picturing the scene... makes me laugh!! :12
World's apart aren't they... dogs and cats.

Two Different World's :DN4 (we live in two different worlds ...)

Hmmm is there more difference between dogs and cats,
or men and women? :34

Oh my friend wrote about a cat latching down on her owner's arm... and wouldn't let go!
I didn't KNOW it was when she was giving her a bath!!!! :18
She just wrote and added that!!

She is telling me to take her to Petco or something. I won't do a flea bath because she gets "Revolution" which is for fleas. The Vet said more gentle for them ... Lucy gets the one for dogs and Lilly for cats.

Warning! Had a dog once in a hospital, and a woman there was crying and crying. Her little dog was blinded by a Flea Shampoo or Dip. I can't remember - but blinded!!! These are not PhD.'s who are handling our pets - for their baths. :97

I think I've got it!! How about 3 friends ... and me... total of 4 to give Lilly her bath? :12
