One of the best satire sites on the web is David Burge's iowahawk. Every year he lets readers send in pictures of their cars. I've participated every time and this year I was late, but he granted me a waiver. Anyway, cars are a hobby, but there was no thread for them in the hobby index...

There is now.
I am using your post to start a Cars Thread
If you want to make the Title more specific let me know.
I imagine there are many separate areas of interest covered by "Cars"

Add some pics, vids, articles.. or your own posts... whatever you want :give

Much thanks! Will slip a few items in... I have a hunch I'm not the only speed enthusiast at RT!

I have recovered from an earlier interest in cars.

In my day... only "rich people" owned new cars... the NZ car fleet was ridiculously old (not vintage) cars with multiple owners.
And mostly small British models.... I did buy an old Triumph Herald.. and had to teach myself how to pull the engine to bits etc....
I was pretty good at it.. and it was a sort of hobby.... but they seem to have added a lot of new bits to The Internal Combustion Engine since my days :)

I practically lived in the garage for years because we were a "car" family. Mainly drag racing and traveling around to different tracks. Always something going on and lots of people hanging at our garage -- miss those days. Love the smells at the track and the engines revving.

We had a little Triumph at one time and it was stolen. We thought our friends pranked us by picking up and moving which had done to us before but no it was gone.

Had a good laugh at the winner of the earth week cruisin' contest at Iowahawk. Hahaaaa Good link!

A car thread this is great. Been into cars all my life my family has always had something fast. Sold my Camaro a few years ago when my youngest son was born. I'm ready to go buy something extremely fast. Fastest I have been in a car on a track was 7sec in 1/4.

Good luck finding something fast.

I follow some of the dragstrip sites on FB. One of our favorite tracks that had been around for years closed down but people are posting lots of pics. and bringing back memories. My husband and son raced there and some pictures of their cars were posted so that was cool to see.

Never done the 1/4 mile (on a track, anyway) but seven seconds is moving... Very impressive!
