The shielded cable I would guess is to cut down on radio interference.. since the application that these battery packs are used for is Radio controlled cars

A surveillance camera at Lord & Taylor, across the street from the second explosion site, reportedly provided clear images from moments before the bombings. It was not noted, however, if this camera was responsible for providing the photo in question.

FBI has images of two persons of interest in Boston bombings, source says

A federal law enforcement source told Fox News that investigators are looking for two men that are persons of interest in Monday's Boston Marathon terror attack and have distributed photos for “law enforcement eyes only.”

The FBI is not sharing the photos with the public.

A Fox News reporter has seen the photos and called them “clear.”

According to the reporter, one of the men has a backpack that appears to match the bag believed to have been used in the attack. The other man also appears to have a bag of some kind.

The source asked that the images not be made public for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.

News of the images came as investigators spent Wednesday poring over photos and video footage and piecing together shredded remnants of bombs in an effort to zero in on suspects behind the attack.

If LEO was trying to locate suspect(s) at large, it seems to me the images would be published. So it seems to me that LEO has suspect(s) in custody.

BAG - NO BAG photos - note that dude in bright blue that had duffel bag, also has shoulder straps (backpack?) in one photo.

Ooops - After zooming, it appears only one strap, the other blue line is a design on his clothing.

Maybe.... the bomb itself was crude... the detonator even cruder.... requiring more than milliamps anyway?

Certainly 30 amp battery pack capable of powering toy car seems like over=kill.

Yes that is XLR mic cable. Don't know why it is there, but why take a picture of it if it wasn't part of the bombs?

I guess they took LOTS of pics.... mic cable still in neat coil is not likely bomb part?

Wouldn't think so but who knows.

They did do controlled explosions... and checked all bags and parcels...

Who knows... the mic cable could have been in white carry bag.... suspicious (ish)... perhaps belonging to a suspect.. but not part of the bomb.

It's GOOD that they photograph EVERYTHING.

Possibly who ever chose the few pics to release was not fully aware of significance (or lack of it) with that photo?

Now how do they get all these Islamic terrorists off to gitmo w/o the public finding out that it was an Islamic terrorist attack?

Step 1: announce that they are just potential witnesses - check
Step 2: request that media not publish their photos - check (they don't look like bitter clinger prepper tea party Christians)
Step 3: pretend you didn't already ID them all from cell phone records, ping logs, photos, video and passport data - check
Step 4: pretend that you don't already have them in custody - check
Step 5: ?

Nah.....it takes over a year to look at ping logs.


"They" may have them in custody already? But which ones? It would not be very healthy to be any of the people in pictures shown on the net. Not Bombers would be advised to check in with LE of some sort.

I think Feds will have to front up with some arrests and or explanations tomorrow?

UPDATE: FBI briefing on Boston bombings postponed. The FBI said it “needs more time to prepare” before speaking to the media. Struggling to get their narrative straight in the aftermath of numerous men with backpacks being identified?

Photos collated on the 4chan website show numerous images of suspicious individuals wearing large backpacks present at the scene of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Three of the men appear to be Arab or Middle Eastern in appearance, whereas another two of the individuals are white.

The images show the men looking away from the marathon runners, talking on cellphones and running from the scene immediately after the blast.

Remains of one of the backpacks are also photographed yards from where one of the bombs exploded. The FBI states that at least one of the pressure cooker devices used in the bombing was housed in a backpack.

Some of these men may have merely been victims, but the image of the two men standing together wearing the same clothes and carrying heavy backpacks and wearing credentials suggests they may have been involved in a drill or in the actual attack. One of individuals, a white man whose backpack was found at the scene of the bombing, looks badly dressed and disheveled.
