Officer charged in George Floyd death seeks case dismissal

MINNEAPOLIS -- An attorney for one of four Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd is asking to have his client's case dismissed, saying there isn't probable cause to charge him based on all of the evidence in the case and the law.

In court filings made public Wednesday, Thomas Lane's attorney, Earl Gray, painted an image of a rookie officer who trusted his senior officer after Floyd had been acting erratically, struggling and hurting himself. Gray said Lane had asked twice if officers should roll Floyd on his side, and the senior officer -- Derek Chauvin -- said no.

It is very frustrating that almost all commentators are ASSUMING GUILT even of Chavin.

Even fellow police officers and legal pundits who should know better, especially after all of the FALSE narratives that have been pushed in other cases.

The video of Floyd dying did LOOK bad, but the evidence shows that Floyd died with the knee on his neck, but that was NOT the cause of death. This technique of restraining a suspect may look bad, but it is what is taught and used in many jurisdictions in USA and around the world. Floyd died from "Cardiac arrest". He had severe artery blockages (up to 95 %) and was doped up with Fentanyl and Meth!! He was buying cigarettes and had been infected with Covid... likely adding to his heart and "breathing issues".

If JUSTICE is truly served... then these cops should be acquitted.

The rioters appeared to be attempting to murder the man after beating a white woman who may or may not have been with him.

As Gateway Pundit previously reported, the terrorist mob gathers round the man’s limp body as he bleeds from his head. Voices are heard saying “call 911. Another says a “medic” is there.

While the man laid unconscious, the mob robbed his truck.

LACEY, Wash. (AP) — A man suspected of fatally shooting a supporter of a right-wing group in Portland, Oregon, last week after a caravan of Donald Trump backers rode through downtown was killed Thursday as investigators moved in to arrest him, a senior Justice Department official told The Associated Press.

The man, Michael Reinoehl, 48, was killed as a federal task force attempted to apprehend him in Lacey, Washington, the official said. Reinoehl was the prime suspect in the killing of 39-year-old Aaron “Jay” Danielson, who was shot in the chest Saturday night, the official said.

Federal agents from the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service had located Reinoehl on Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. During the encounter, Reinoehl was shot by a law enforcement officer who was working on the federal task force, the official said.

Jacob Blake makes court appearance from hospital bed

Jacob Blake made an appearance in court from his hospital bed Friday, pleading not guilty to criminal charges that predated his shooting by Kenosha Police,

Wearing a blue shirt and yellow tie, Blake, 29, answered a court commissioner’s questions clearly, his voice strong, responding “yes sir” when asked if he understood the proceedings.

The hearing was held online via Zoom, as the majority of court hearings have been during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blake’s attorney entered a non-guilty plea on his behalf, and Blake waived his right to a preliminary hearing, allowing the case to move forward.

The court appearance was his first on the charges related to an incident that occurred several months ago.

At the hearing, the prosecution asked for — and the court commissioner approved — a $10,000 signature bond for Blake, the conditions of that bond suggested by the state allowing him to see the woman named in the complaint and the children but to have “no violent contact” with her.

Cafferty said he is representing Blake only on the July criminal charge. A separate team of lawyers, including civil rights attorney Ben Crump, are representing Blake and his family regarding the shooting. Cafferty referred any questions about the shooting to Crump’s team.

A BLM activist and alleged arsonist charged for reckless burning in the second degree had reported a fire set in Washington and then filmed his subsequent arrest.

Jeffrey Acord, 36 of Pallyup, called 911 Wednesday evening to report a fire in the median of Highway 167 near Tacoma, Washington. After dialing dispatch services, Acord then livestreamed the incident to his Facebook page, providing constant narration.
