Wimberley Texas Devastated – 12 People Missing, Including Families, In Massive Texas Flood…
Posted on May 25, 2015 by sundance

The Blanco River water rose 40 feet, yes, FORTY FEET, so fast that people never had time to evacuate. Homes wiped out, many feared dead, a dozen people missing. (Raw OMG Video Below of Aftermath)

(Via AP) “It looks pretty bad out there,” Hays County emergency management coordinator Kharley Smith said of Wimberley, where an estimated 350 to 400 homes were destroyed. “We do have whole streets with maybe one or two houses left on them and the rest are just slabs.”

About 1,000 homes were damaged throughout Hays County, which includes Wimberley. Five San Marcos police cars were washed away, and the firehouse was flooded, said Kristi Wyatt, a spokeswoman for San Marcos.

Rivers swelled so quickly that whole communities awoke Sunday surrounded by water. The Blanco crested above 40 feet — more than triple its flood stage of 13 feet. The river swamped Interstate 35 and forced parts of the busy north-south highway to close. Rescuers used pontoon boats and a helicopter to pull people out.

Yes it is a real tragedy... I do feel genuinely sad and concerned for real people hurt or killed and all the property damage as well.

But... as they say... every cloud has a silver lining. :cool

Missing Mom Swept Away by Texas Floods Called Sister as Rain Poured Down

https://gma.yahoo.com/missing-mom-swept ... -151806600–abc-news-topstories.html

What a horror. I can’t even imagine, holding your family close and having them ripped from your arms, I hope the babies and their mum went quickly drowning is such a horrible death. Just thinking about the poor helpless father is too sad.

HOUSTON (AP) — Floodwaters kept rising Tuesday across much of Texas as storms dumped almost another foot of rain on the Houston area, stranding hundreds of motorists and inundating the famously congested highways that serve the nation’s fourth-largest city.

Meanwhile, the search went on for 30 people who were missing after flooding along the Blanco River in Central Texas, including a group of people who disappeared after a vacation home was swept down the river and slammed into a bridge.

Houston authorities recovered three more bodies from the floodwaters — two of them in the city and a third in a vehicle on Interstate 45. That brought to 11 the number of people killed by the holiday weekend storms in Oklahoma and Texas.

The water continued rising overnight as the area received about 11 more inches, much of it in a six-hour period.

I agree chiclad.

Rumpole that picture reminds me of when 100's of cars were stranded on Lake Shore Drive (a road than runs along Lake Michigan) because of a huge snow storm. The cars on LSD (Yes the same LSD/Lake Shore Drive as in the Chicago song) could be dug out and suffered no damage. Water in cars. I can't imagine what that does but it can't be good. I hope that they all have good insurance.

I live in north central Texas. I haven't had it nearly as bad as others, but I never thought I'd see my yard as a swamp in the dry state of Texas. Currently, my utility room is flooded from seeping water and the roof over my computer room is leaking. But I can't complain because that's nothing compared to what others are experiencing here.

When in the H E double L is it going to stop?? I hear loud thunder as I write.
