Presumably pets are all privately "owned".... but there are examples of people who DO have their pets stuffed :eek

I can't see pets being much of an "earner" :)

I like the remote control idea.... my brain is racing with ideas...... handy to be able to move granny when you do the hoovering.... and handy to take granny outside to be dusted in much the same way that you "beat" carpets.
It might be fun to incorporate Remote control dead (but not dead) relays into games etc... remote chair teams for the kids to operate... perhaps ex-family Olympics at Christmas?

At the very least dead (but not dead) relays stuck in one spot might get boring! So portability would be a feature.

iPad app with a camera so you can see where they are going. Hmm, can we turn them into a borg? Control grandma with the iPad app and drive her to the fridge to grab you a beer.

I like it.

Be nice if you could set them to "Alarm mode" so that when you are away from home they move about randomly... and shout a lot! Perhaps bark too! :lol
off course it would be no trouble to program the "Brain Dead" "Granny Borg" to register and post at InSession2 (formerly Justice Quest). And getting them to post and "vocalise" rants and raves :95 :59 would likely scare off burglars too :)

That is basically where this suggestion by Dolan is going.

In effect Jahi is a "zombie" now :eek

Double Tragedy: Jahi McMath and Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland
Posted: January 8, 2014

For weeks, the nation has watched as the family of Jahi McMath has given press conference after press conference.
[...]
While tragic for the McMath family, there’s another tragedy in this story and that’s the negative publicity for Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland.

As the family tweets about being “free” from Children’s, and the family lawyer talks about all that Children’s withheld from Jahi, a hospital and it’s staff is bound by laws, forced to stay silent as a smear campaign and likely a lawsuit surround them.
[...]
Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland distributed 139 million dollars of charity care and benefits in 2012. Seventy-five percent of the pediatricians working at the hospital are on the “Best Doctors in America” list. Lives are literally being saved every day at this hospital.

The story of what happened to Jahi is unimaginable and devastating. However there are countless positive stories leaving the hospital every day and have been for the last one hundred years. And that shouldn’t be forgotten, regardless of tweets or statements from a very chatty lawyer.

Jahi McMath case used as Consumer Watchdog fundraising tool
Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross
Updated 8:00 am, Wednesday, January 8, 2014

The case of Jahi McMath, the 13-year-old girl who was declared brain-dead after a tonsillectomy at Children's Hospital Oakland, is now the centerpiece of a political fundraising effort aimed at lifting California's $250,000 cap for pain and suffering awards in medical malpractice cases.

Consumer Watchdog, a Southern California nonprofit that has teamed up with the state's trial lawyers on a proposed November ballot initiative to lift the limit, just sent out a mailer to supporters saying, "Hospitals like Children's actually have an incentive to let children like Jahi die.

"If children who are victims of medical negligence live, hospitals are on the hook for medical bills for life, which could be millions," the letter says.

OUCH! I read somewhere* that, of course, her insides are deteriorating and therefore the insertion of these tubes can be dangerous. I feel like by now the family must know that she is not getting better. It is only going to gt worse, how dreadful!

*sorry I read so many things I forget where they came from! But it was some "medical" site.

From the sister.....

Post subject:  Re: Jahi McMath: brain-dead girl

My guess (based on snippets I have read) is that by now this corpse may well still be "warm".... with blood still circulating and external heat maintained.... but it will be far from appearing to be a living person as the mother described early on. I doubt even the Mother can avoid noticing the smell and the blackened toes and fingers etc.

Pumping oxygen into a corpse to keep it animated is macabre to say the least.... and now it seems that they intend to pour liquefied food into it through a large gaping hole CUT in its throat. This is SICK!! :eek

I wonder if any one is taking odds on her "final moment"?! But seriously this is getting weird.

I guess the precedent is a mother duct-taping a baby's mouth, adding a heart-sticker bling "kiss" then stuffing the body in a plastic garbage bag and driving around with it in the trunk of her car for 3 days, before eventually throwing it in a swamp. :eek

Seems abusing a dead body does not rate as a crime, or even a nasty thing to do? :cool

Phil Matier: Jahi McMath Case Now At Center Of Malpractice Campaign
January 8, 2014 12:36 PM

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) —
Jahi McMath, the 13-year-old girl who was declared brain-dead after a tonsillectomy at Children’s Hospital Oakland, has become the centerpiece of a political fundraising effort.

Andrew Ross and I reported in our column in the San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday that Consumer Watchdog, a Southern California nonprofit that has teamed up with the state’s trial lawyers on a proposed November ballot initiative to lift state’s $250,000 cap for pain and suffering awards in medical malpractice cases.

They just sent out a mailer to supporters saying, “Hospitals like Children’s actually have an incentive to let children like Jahi die.” Because, they argue, if children are injured and stay on life support for years, it will cost hospitals more.

It’s cold-hearted, but no sooner than the ambulance pulled out of Children’s Hospital, the mailer was sent to raise money get the message out to supporters of the initiative.

Is it OK to tweet her and ask her how she knows her sister is alive?

IF I had a twitter account...... I might get in a lot of trouble :)

I would like to hear about how much time she is spending with her sister (I suspect none) and..... if she has visited, I would be very interest in a description... full and honest.
