LOL, yeah being drunk would help me too. In the video, an Asian woman is crossing with a death grip on the rail. That would be me, but I wouldn't go near it. Lots of people planned a vacation to go across it only to find it was closed. Pissed off tourists, no doubt. ;)

More than 100 reported hurt, passengers trapped after train crash at Hoboken, NJ station
By FoxNews | September 29, 2016

DEVELOPING: More than 100 people were reported hurt -- and others remained trapped -- after a train slammed into a busy station in Hoboken, N.J., during the Thursday morning commute as emergency workers rushed to the scene.

Witnesses said the train never slowed down, crashing through barriers into the terminal's reception area. Photos showed major structural damage to the Hoboken terminal, including a crumbled wall and mangled beams.

More than 100 patients needed treatment, emergency workers said. One witness said a woman was pinned under concrete.

Hoboken has the highest percentage of transit ridership of any city in the country. More than 50,000 people use the terminal daily.

The crash appeared to be accidental, not intentional, sources told WNBC. The National Transportation Safety Board told Fox News it was gathering information.

Most of the injured appeared to be passengers in the first train car or people waiting in the station, WABC reported. Passengers told WABC it was train number 1614 on the Pascack Valley Line, which left Spring Valley, N.Y. at 7:23 a.m. bound for Hoboken and apparently was running late.

The crash unfolded around 8:30 a.m., a peak time in the morning commute for the New York City area.

Rail service was suspended in and out of Hoboken, directly across the river from New York City.

Is the train driver a Mooslim? ... just askin'

Unless there is some major mechanical failure in multiple systems..... this guy is CLEARLY not competent to be put in charge of a train (people's lives) how in hell did he get that job?

Also where were all the emergency back-up systems? As far as I know there are mechanical trip switches etc which prevent trains from simply plowing into the end of the line?

BTW - Pet peeve

There is NO SUCH THING AS A "RATE OF SPEED!!"

(rate of speed CHANGE is acceleration... say acceleration if that is what you mean) :doh

The train can be described as "traveling at a high speed" To say "Traveling at a high rate of speed" is just ignorant... take note Chris Christie.. and various "journalists" who are supposed to be well versed in the English Language

FYI Helen Clark (NZ "Labour Party") was PM of NZ 1999–2008.

Horrible hard left wing woman who stuffed up NZ. :wall

She has for years been scheming to be FIRST WOMAN Secretary General of the UN :doh

I daresay whoever heads the UN is going to be a daft liberal.. but Helen Clark may well have been a the worse possible choice... and she just failed in her bid :)

It's a WIN for the free world that Helen Clark failed

NZ's Clark fails in bid for UN top job
Updated: 1:37 pm, Thursday, 6 October 2016

Former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark has failed in her attempt to make history and become the first woman to head the United Nations.

Despite vocal campaigns by nations for the next secretary-general to be a woman and countries including Russia just days ago calling for an Eastern European to win the job, the UN Security Council rejected both and on Wednesday endorsed former Portuguese prime minister Antonio Guterres.

Partially-nude female clown charged with chasing cars
By Stephanie Ingersoll | The Leaf-Chronicle, WTSP | October 28, 2016

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman was arrested Thursday after numerous witnesses called 911 to report that a partially nude woman wearing clown makeup was chasing cars and jumping in and out of traffic on a country road in Cunningham.

Candice A. Kreidel, 37, was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and making non-emergency 911 calls.

According to an arrest warrant, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene after "a series of calls about a white female wearing clown-like makeup, a stocking cap, and was either partially or completely nude that was running up and down Louise Road, chasing cars and jumping out in front of other cars."

While a deputy was on the way to the scene, 911 received four calls from Kreidel "in which call takers were berated, threatened and cursed," the warrant states.

When the deputy went to Kreidel's home on Louise Road, he found her in a sports bra, pajama-style bottoms, a stocking cap and wearing clown makeup on her face and body. She was also holding a beer.

New Onslaught Of Airstrikes In Aleppo Hit World-Famous Cat Sanctuary
The man who runs the sanctuary survived, though multiple animals were killed.

Renewed airstrikes in Aleppo this week have killed at least 32 people, including children. The attacks, which struck a children’s hospital and a blood bank, were carried out by either Syrian or Russian warplanes, Reuters reported, citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The bombings also hit an internationally celebrated animal sanctuary that was hailed as a place of peace and hope in the war-torn city.

The sanctuary was a refuge for hundreds of cats, as well as local children who would spend time with the animals and play on an adjacent playground.

‘Alien pod time capsule?’ Mysterious object washes up on NZ beach, baffling locals (PHOTOS)
By RT | December 11, 2016

Image

A “washed up whale,” a “sea monster with dreadlocks” and a “beach Christmas tree” are just some of the guesses about a strange seaweed-covered object that washed up on a New Zealand beach. People are scratching their heads to explain what it is.

The large phenomenon was found on Muriwai Beach in Auckland by local resident Melissa Doubleday.

She posted photos of the strange barnacle covered object on the Muriwai & Waimauku Area Community Group Facebook page asking: “Just curious to know if anyone knows what this is??! Washed up on Muriwai Beach.”

“I actually thought it was a washed up whale as I approached it, so weird,” Doubleday told stuff.co.nz.

The post was inundated with a variety of wild suggestions which ranged from a Maori canoe to a Rastafarian whale to the Predator from the eponymous Arnold Schwarzenegger film.

“Alien Pod time capsule?” one person suggested.

Many commentators claimed it was a piece of driftwood covered in gooseneck barnacles.

At Least 60 Killed in Bloody Brazil Prison Riot
By NBC News | January 2, 2017, 3:06PM ET

RIO DE JANEIRO — At least 60 inmates died during a prison riot in the northern state of Amazonas, including several who were beheaded or dismembered, in the biggest killing at a Brazilian prison since 1992.

Amazonas state public security secretary Sergio Fontes said that in addition to the deaths, some inmates escaped, but he did not say how many. He added that 40 had been recaptured.

Twelve prison guards were held hostage by the inmates, though none were wounded."This is the biggest prison massacre in our state's history," Fontes said during a press conference.

The riot at the Anisio Jobim Penitentiary Complex began Sunday afternoon and lasted until Monday morning.

It was the largest death toll during a Brazilian prison riot since the killing of 111 inmates by police officers in the Carandiru penitentiary in Sao Paulo in 1992. Police said they acted in self-defense then.

Fontes confirmed that many of the dead had been beheaded and Judge Luis Carlos Valois, who negotiated the end of the riot with inmates, said he saw many bodies that were quartered.
[...]
"The riot ended after the inmates freed the last of the 12 prison staffers they had held hostage, Valois said.

3 dead, 20 injured after car rams into pedestrians in Melbourne, Australia
By RT | January 20, 2017

At least 3 people have been killed and 20 more injured after a vehicle was driven into a crowd of people in the center of Australia's second largest city Melbourne.

Police say the driver deliberately ran people over in Melbourne, adding there’s no reason to believe the incident is linked to and act of terrorism just yet. Authorities said the tragedy is believed to be linked to an overnight stabbing.

EXCLUSIVE: UC Police In Berkeley Ordered To Stand Down As Helpless Victims Were Beaten In Front Of Them
By Randy Sutton | Blue Lives Matter | February 10, 2017

UC Police Department, Berkeley, Were Ordered Not To Save People At Berkeley Riot

Blue Lives Matter National Spokesman Randy Sutton has conducted an investigation into the UC Berkeley riots, and collected the following information from our law enforcement sources.

The epic failure at the University of California Berkeley to safeguard lives and property during the recent riot personifies not only ineptitude and cowardice at the highest levels of University and Police leadership but something far darker and insidious. It reveals that same leadership becoming complicit in violating one of the most fundamental and cherished rights in America. That of free speech.

Officers stood by and did not intervene as the rioters, armed with homemade weapons, incendiary devices, and firebombs, attacked innocent people and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

The “Incident at Berkeley” will go down in history as one the most embarrassing and degrading examples of police leadership in modern memory. The images of University of California Police Officers in full tactical gear doing absolutely nothing as a swarm of black-clad uniformly dressed, masked rioters, were attacking and injuring innocent people will forever darken the image of law enforcement officers everywhere.
