New Jersey neurologist's license revoked over having sexual contact with patient with brain injury The state's Board of Medical Examiners ruled Thursday Dr. Jonathan Fellus had repeated sexual contact with a 33-year-old woman who was suffering from collapsing spells and seizures. Fellus is the chief medical officer of an international brain research foundation that he said is working with the family of Jahi McMath to revive the 13-year-old Oakland, Calif., girl from a coma. BY Joel Landau NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Sunday, June 15, 2014, 1:49 PM An internationally recognized New Jersey doctor who specialized in awakening brain-dead patients from their comas — and had offered his assistance for Jahi McMath — has lost his medical license after a state board ruled he had sex with a 33-year-old patient who had suffered a brain injury. Dr. Jonathan Fellus, the chief medical officer with the International Brain Research Foundation, had his medical license revoked by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners after it determined he engaged in a sexual relationship with the woman he was treating for a mild brain injury, the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs announced Thursday. "The facts clearly show that Dr. Fellus engaged in a relationship with this patient, even though he knew or should have known she was suffering a diagnosed cognitive disorder and was physically debilitated by injuries she suffered in a car accident," Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman said in a statement. "This relationship violated long-standing ethical standards and a specific Board of Medical Examiners rule prohibiting sexual contact between physicians and their patients." Fellus was placed on administrative leave by the facility and resigned in 2011. ...more at link http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/h ... -1.1830673 |

Jahi McMath: Brain-dead Oakland girl receives honorary diploma By David DeBolt ddebolt@bayareanewsgroup.com Posted: 06/13/2014 03:30:28 PM PDT0 Comments Updated: 06/14/2014 02:51:11 PM PDT Jahi McMath's mom Nailah Winkfield, right, receives an honorary certificate from school board member Lee Lancaster during eighth-grade graduation ceremonies at E.C. Reems Academy of Technology and Arts in Oakland, Calif OAKLAND -- The family of Jahi McMath, the 13-year-old girl declared brain-dead six months ago, accepted a diploma on her behalf at an East Oakland school's eighth-grade graduation on Friday. Her mother, Nailah Winkfield, and other family members were on hand to receive the honorary diploma from E.C. Reems Academy of Technology and Arts, where Jahi attended school since kindergarten. Jahi's younger sister also graduated kindergarten Friday. "Jahi deserved it," Winkfield said. "She worked very hard." [....] "Jahi is doing much better," Winkfield said. "She is a lot more responsive than what she used to be, so just keep praying for her. I just don't even want to tell you too much; I'll just say wait on it." ...more at link http://www.contracostatimes.com/news/ci ... s-honorary |

How profoundly sad this whole thing is. I see that little boy, her little brother? And I cannot imagine the psychological toll it is taking on him. |

Rumpole wrote: I held back on posting this link. More "propaganda" based on Jahi's mother' statement(s).... and it is just a "teaser" for the full article published in a magazine (The full article is at the link now) Fighting for Jahi By Jelani Cobb Thursday, June 05, 2014 | 4:31 PM http://www.essence.com/2014/06/05/jahi- ... -winkfield From the full article..... Quote: Back in March, the Terri Schiavo Network honored Winkfield with its Life & Hope award, given to those who "fight to protect the dignity of a loved one against over-whelming odds." Today, Winkfield spends her time at the private location where Jahi is receiving medical attention. Having read volumes of scientific literature on brain injury, she's working to have Jahi's death certificate revoked so that she can qualify for medical benefits. H/T Data Venia for a respose.... Quote: This isn't a something she has to "study for" or something that requires "working on" at all...beyond making a single appropriate phone call. Really.
She could have done what was legally and medically necessary to overturn the death certificate at any time after taking possession of Jahi's body but hasn't. All it takes is to call a licensed neurologist in there to do the appropriate medical examinations (brainstem reflexes, EEG, cerebral bloodflow TCD or imaging, etc), and if Jahi is truly not dead, as she claims, that doctor's examination will show it and document it. No amount of reading on Ms. Winkfield's part will make any difference whatsoever to the outcome of this objective determination, and nobody is going to reverse the declaration of death just because Ms. Winkfield subjectively believes, on the basis of her reading, that her daughter is brain injured and not brain dead. Either Jahi has brainstem reflexes or she doesn't. Either she has a non-flat EEG or it's isoelectric. Either she has cerebral blood flow or she doesn't. End of story. No need to "work on" or "study" anything. Just do the exam and be done with it already. |

Jahi McMath being kept at New Jersey hospital By Karina Ioffee and David DeBolt Bay Area News Group Posted: 06/18/2014 11:26:01 PM PDT Updated: 06/19/2014 12:29:23 PM PDT Jahi McMath, the Oakland girl who was declared brain dead after a trio of nose and throat surgeries last December, is being kept at St. Peter's Children's Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, television station KPIX reported late Wednesday. Jahi, 13, was declared brain dead after a series of operations to remove her tonsils and tissue from her nose and throat in December at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. She continued to receive feeding and breathing support after the diagnosis as her family engaged hospital officials in a legal battle to keep the girl on organ support. The news comes after months of speculation about the girl's whereabouts; in January, the family won a court order allowing them to take her out of Children's Hospital, but did not say where she was transferred. The Alameda County Coroner's Office even issued a death certificate for Jahi before allowing her body to be released from Children's Hospital Oakland, on the condition that once her organs shut down, the family would have to notify the coroner. KPIX reported that she is receiving round-the-clock care and has responded to commands, moving specific parts of her body when asked. Attorney Christopher Dolan, who represents Jahi's family, would not comment on her location. In a statement to Bay Area News Group, he said that "Jahi's physical condition is much better than when she was at Children's Hospital," adding that predictions that her organs would shut down and her heart would cease pumping had not come to pass. ...more at link http://www.insidebayarea.com/news/ci_25 ... new-jersey |

Questions Raised Over Condition Of Jahi McMath After Lawyer Said Girl Is Improving June 20, 2014 12:02 AM Joe Vazquez Quote: Our story has gotten quite a bit of attention on social media, debates about life and death, including some comments by public relations crisis manager Sam Singer. For a time, he represented Children’s Hospital Oakland. Singer tweeted on Thursday that if Jahi is alive, her lawyer should have her do interviews. “I think the public deserves an answer. It’s not fair to tug at people’s heartstrings and make to false claims like this without being able to back them up,” Singer said. “The news media, independent physicians and the medical community ought to be allowed in, so they can make a judgment for themselves as to whether this is the greatest miracle known to man, or this is a hoax. Sadly, I think this is a hoax.” The family attorney disagrees. Dolan told KPIX 5 that he saw Jahi follow her mother’s voice and even move parts of her body at her mom’s command. And he says all the experts who said that her body was supposed to have deteriorated by now, are wrong. He wants Jahi re-tested. ...more at link http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2014/0 ... improving/ |

Mother Of The Year? The following are “SAVED” Instagram screenshots of the mother of Jahi McMath. They were not “stolen”, like she claims. These that you see before you were saved from a different source and not manipulated in any way. These are her words and they are disturbing. These screen shots were taken today. As you can see from the time stamp ( in “weeks” ), most of these were posted to Instagram long before Jahi’s surgery. http://kesselrunin12parsecs.tumblr.com/ ... f-the-year |

I view DataVenia in a new light... forgive her/him for once being a Traybot... probably temporary insanity it seems. Her(his) analysis as a nurse is enlightening on this case. For instance an analysis of the photo of Jahi's fingers... DataVenia wrote: They have that shape and appearance for a number of reasons, some of them point to serious problems just ahead...
1. The fingers are starting to curl under because she's developing contractures. The muscles that control grasping (finger flexors) are naturally stronger/dominate over the ones that extend the fingers straight open, so they shorten disproportionately and make the fingers curl permanently under when nerve control and use is lost. That's why the family has had to use rolls and other contracture control devices to splint the hands open and delay this process. More ominously... 2. The sausage-like appearance from the knuckles on back toward the hands but not out at the tips, which look thinner, paler, more shriveled, and have a few black patches, pinpoint ulcerations, etc. --> that's all due to a gradual shutting down of Jahi's peripheral circulation. After brain death, cardiovascular proficiency drops dramatically (by about 40%). Very distant areas, like the tips of the toes, tips of the fingers, and tip of the nose, don't get enough circulation to even stay viable, despite aggressive management with drugs to help the circulatory status. These areas first become excessively pale and dried out looking (too little blood getting to them), then start developing skin breakdown ulcerations with even the slightest frictional force applied against the friable skin, and finally frankly dead areas, called focal necrosis, which look like black spots/patches. All this gets worse and worse with time. Areas that are still getting just enough blood to not die off outright tend to retain fluid and puff up, because venous drainage is also impaired coming back from the extremities to the heart. This puffiness is tissue edema and accounts for the "porky" look to the bases of the fingers and hand. All these changes we're seeing speak volumes about Jahi's care team having significant trouble maintaining Jahi's circulation at adequate levels to keep the distal tissues from starting to die off, and this task gets harder and harder with each passing day, requiring higher doses of drugs and with Jahi's body becoming more and more refractory to treatment. |

H/T Mimi.. and lol... Reports that Jahi McMath is coming home are false By Kristin J. Bender, Oakland Tribune Posted: 08/18/2014 06:47:57 AM PDT1541 Updated: 08/18/2014 09:00:54 AM PDT OAKLAND -- A New York facility that has tried to help Jahi McMath, the Oakland girl declared brain-dead last year, put out a call for back-to-school supplies, bedding and clothes for the teen, saying she was "coming home," and that the New Beginnings Community Center was loading a truck with donations. But Christopher Dolan, the attorney for the family of 13-year-old Jahi, said the request on the Facebook page of the Medford, New York-based New Beginnings was false and the girl's mother isn't asking for anything but prayers for her daughter. ...more at link http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts ... g-home-are |

This whole thing is WAY beyond "faith".. this is DELUSION. And IF others are joining in then it is "Mass Delusion". That might have once surprised me, but since reading online I see daily examples of "group think" and a Mob mentality. I do still wonder if somebody has a financial gain motive? It could all be a "put-on" or else it could be that the Mom is being cynically used and encouraged in this delusion, rather than helped to get past it and accept reality. |
