Football is the only sport worth watching. I'm a football freak! Of course I'm a Denver Bronco's fan but I'll be watching him with the New York Jets now. I was very very sorry to lose Tim Tebo. But I'm glad to have Payton Manning. Can't wait for the season to start!!! :91

Comcast is soon going to let us watch TV on our iPads. That will be awesome. Then I can watch football anywhere I want. I MUST get the football bundle channels so I can watch every team play!

P.S. Don't even let me know if you're an Okland fan. (We're supposed to hate them) :31

You really think soccer is boring? I was a sports fan (baseball, football, tennis, car racing, Olympic sports, etc.) when I was a teenager, but stopped watching in my twenties. However, a few years ago, the cafe that I ate lunch at everyday had the World Cup on and I got hooked! It's very exciting (and it doesn't hurt that the men are quite attractive)! :84

Mal, you're right, those Soccer players are pretty cute!

AND...just by coinkidink I saw the game between Greece and Germany was playing on my "Infinity" App so I turned it on. It really DID get exciting. Greece wasn't playing....every time Germany got the ball nobody seemed interested in surrounding him to try to get the ball so they had plenty of time to check out the field for their mate's positions. But when Greece got the ball they were inundated with Germany men who of course stole the ball right away every time. I think the final score was 4-1 Germany won. Okay, I was wrong, soccer IS fun. I know my daughter gets all caught up in women's soccer and yes, those games are fun to watch. (What was I thinking?)

Truth be told, Jane, before I got caught up in "World Cup Fever", like most americans, I thought soccer was boring also! (It was boring when we were forced to play it in high school gym class!)

Yep, that sounds like the German Team! It was amazing watching the World Cup Games because teams from different countries had so very different styles of play.

Are there are diehard NFL fans here? Who is your team?

I bleed silver & blue for the Dallas Cowboys!!!
But I watch as many games as I can because I'm in a FFL, and the Cowboys have let too many favorites go to other teams.

The season starts:

Thursday, September 10, 8:30PM ET on NBC
Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots

I no longer watch sports, but when I did from mid 70's - mid 80's I was a die hard Cowboys fan.

Thanks, Mal.

If I lived in Florida, near the beach, I probably wouldn't watch sports either! That's my big dream, to go to a beach.
But I would go to Daytona :)

Yes, Carm!

The Bears will always be my 2d team to cheer for a W :69

True fans, anyone who can sit out in that weather to watch when they are winning or losing, is my kind of football fan. Mike Ditka, The Refrigerator, Walter Payton. :heart

Cutler threw an interception and got hurt :smoke shocking stuff for the Bears :63

Hi Carm! :28

Yes, the Cowboys beat the Eagles (in same division) and are 2-0. :D

But Tony Romo broke his collarbone :( ... he broke it two years ago also. The backup QB did a great job and pulled out a win. Our star WR (Dez Bryant) broke his ankle during the first game. I enjoyed seeing a lot of the other players doing a great job, getting the big plays yesterday, and getting noticed for once!

Will be reading up on Cutler. Take a look at this article when you get a chance. Down towards the bottom (after the injury vid) "EDIT: A little something for the conspiracy theorists..." :doh

It's early in the season, anything can happen for a team!

I explain it as exactly like NFL football, but the ball is continuously moving, they don't stop play at each "down" and they don't wear pads/helmets. That and they don't turn over the ball when a team scores.

My wife is :87 right now...Cowboys won their first premiership in what was the most nailbiting final minute of NRL play.

To be on topic though, go Chiefs! Even though they dropped 2 games...

Hi Hoff! :28

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of my favorite teams to watch, primarily because I regard Coach Andy Reid as one of the first class coaches of all time, total respect for that man. That and the fact they are not in the Cowboys' conference or division :)

Carm, both our teams lost their QB and it's .... not pretty. :doh

Hoff, I was thinking Cowboys trending #1 on twitter was about my team's OT loss. But I see a majority is your North Queensland Cowboys' victory. :)
