It's opening day for the Texas Rangers today. It is always a BIG deal in Fort Worth on opening day. I used to never miss it. Drinks before, game and dinner afterwards. Everyone makes a day of it all.

ProgPoker .... I'm ready for ya. :28

eta: I am obviously out of touch with reality. They're playing in Oakland. Home opener is Thursday.

I have the dignity of being a Cubs fan, what can I say other than "It is not their century" :83

:28 Hi, Carm. My husband is a lifelong Cubs fan. We happened to be in Chicago during a Cubs v Rangers make-up game. Road train from Tinley Park, caught the L to Wrigley Field. My first time. :cool The Captain Morgan's Club at the entrance was the craziest I've ever seen. Only in Chicago :) I couldn't believe how close you can get to the field.

ProgPoker's A's beat the Rangers 8-0 last night. :(

Hi Molly :69 , I'm biased but I love Wrigley Field. It is a beautiful place. I haven't been to a game in a long time but I hadn't been to a Blackhawks game in a long time and I made it there this year so maybe I'll fit in a Cubs game.

There is so much to do in Chicago :)

But it looks like this could be the year for my Chicago Cubs, what is 100 years between championships ? :Gslap

:D

I'm watching the standings now and a more of the games. Such a long season that I come and go.

This is the first time, for as long as I can remember, that I couldn't tell you who the owner, general manager or manager (coach) of the Texas Rangers are. It's all messed up, but we have the BEST players :)

Baseball tickets are still affordable, thank goodness, and it's one of the only sports I like to go and watch versus on TV. Just parking at a Cowboys' game is $85. :eek

Good luck, Cubs! :77

My Cubs at least have a chance :98 . I'd love to see them win the World Series after a 100 year drought :roll . I'm not holding my breath though :cry They seem to be a self fulfilling prophecy whenever they get close to even getting close :Gslap

Hey, Carm!

OMGoodness! I looked for something to watch tonight, not wanting to see the debates (sick of politics).

I got the Cubs game on ESPN. :69 That's how you play to get in the playoffs > World Series!

Twelve innings, away game, 4.5 hours! YAY Cubs on the win! :77

Hi Carm :28

Well, you gotta win the wild-card game TONIGHT and then it's off to play best out of 5 with the St. Louis Cardinals. This is what Yahoo! Sports says in the link below:

While regular season record isn't always a perfect reflection of team talent, it's pretty safe to say both the Cubs and Pirates have a legitimate chance at winning the World Series.

I can't believe the Yankee's lost last night. YAY! Maybe the Texas Rangers have a chance this year, finishing top in their division. The Yankees ALWAYS eliminate them from advancing.

Prog, IF you ever read this, sorry about your team! Well, not really b/c they helped get the Rangers on top. :Q24

Woo Hoo!!! Wooweewoowee!

Go Cubs go!

Thanks Rumpole and Molly!

A friend has been texting me from a bar sending pictures, the town has gone crazy! If they make it the WS it will be sheer madness!

Last text from friend was something like "Cuzcv wiiinnn fucoo loo xx90 Lovecubb Chi whewen" :lol

I think much celebrating is going on :77

Did you see there was a black out on Cubbie blue? No shirts in the beginning innings because they were banned, then a few souls showed their shirts and then a few more by the 7th or 8th inning there were quite a few waves of blue. And that dick head pitcher hit Arrieta on purpose and should have been thrown out of the game.

By the way "Back to the Future" had a sign congratulating the Cubs on winning the World Series, the year was 2015 :69
