KJ I LOVE this! Wouldn't children love it too.

I wonder if we should have a place on here somewhere for good children's videos? I think for those who aren't Techies, we should put the exact title on there, so we can get it from youtube and send to the kids?

Hmmm realize there are only about 4- 5 chords here. If anyone can carry a tune, they could sing this, buy a UKE, and learn it, QUICKLY with just the few simple chords. THEN you could do this for kids ... or adults! They chords are written out on a grid, corresponding to the frets and strings. SO EASY!!! YOU could be the next Burl Ives!!! Kids love his "A Frog Went A Courtin' ". So do I! Might be a fun gift (a UKE) for a child for Christmas, depending on their age. Should accompany it with a book. Parents can quickly learn it, and teach them. THEN ... maybe graduate to the guitar years later...

Note from me. Think - we have 4 fingers and 1 thumb. That will make it easier.

Good Uke teacher. With that first "C" chord that she taught you, you COULD do the entire song -
"A Frog Went A Courtin'. "

Mal - yes he was/is. Notice he hits the notes SQUARE on the head... never flat (not quite reaching them)
or sharp (overshot them!). I have perfect pitch. I know. Sometimes that is a curse.

I was part of a NY study about Perfect Pitch. They got back to me and told all of us that there was only ONE THING
we ALL had in common. **We all started at age 5.**

My old jazz piano teacher was raised poor. I think 6 boys. HE was always almost 1/2 tone FLAT. One day I asked him, "Did you ever get your piano tuned when you were little?" He smiled and said "No!" That was it. HIS EAR was trained to hear and LEARN flat. HE was consistent, that is what made me wonder ... consistently FLAT!

I can't believe Neil Sedaka wrote this. I read he puts himself in a room every morning at 9 AM and starts to write.
This is SUCH a beauty ...

That Rita Hayworth video is a fantastic find, Joni. Loved it. :NN3

Such a beautiful woman and talented dancer. IMO, no one can flip their hair like Rita could. :84

Thanks Mal. I agree. Did you know she wasn't even a red-head?

Her father made her tour with him - dance couple. I read he molested her.
How awful!!! Poor thing... :10 :95

That morphing video is so cool! (I still don't know how they are able do that.) I love all those actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

I REALLY like this guy. He reminds me of my son, in his actions, except my son has more hair!!
There is also a #2 over there, plus more performances I think.
Isn't he cute and talented?

LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys! Such wonderful "harmonies".
They are all musicians. Somehow, I notice musician's sing differently than other singers.
Emote less? Use their voices as an instrument?

My brother had to write this silly youngish song for Rocco. (Rocco And The Saints). It's only a little riff on the Blues Changes. Ron is on sax. Amazing, isn't he? They played for years at Somers Point, NJ. He was about 18 or 19 and just started Penn. He went on to be a Physicist ... his goal. Got his PhD.

One night he came home saying "They are going to make a star out of Frankie Avalon." (He played trumpet in the band.) I said "WHO is? Why him and not you?" They were 2 Italian Agents and said the girls like Frankie. My brother was very, very handsome and truly gifted, and a hard worker. During his breaks, he always went into the back and studied. No girls in his life then, on a mission and GOT THERE! Frankie said to me "I play better just standing next to Ron." I am SURE that is true.
