Bridge School Concert Lineup: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Tom Jones
Posted on Friday, September 12 at 10:00am | By Aidin Vaziri

Pearl Jam, Norah Jones and Band of Horses are returning to Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View for the the 28th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts. The lineup for the shows, which take place Oct. 25 and 26, was announced by promoter Live Nation on Friday morning. Neil Young will once again play host, headliner and opening act. And even though he filed for divorce from Pegi Young, his wife of 36 years, just over a month ago, she’s on the bill too. The lineup also includes several acts performing at the benefit for the first time: Florence and the Machine, Tom Jones and Soundgarden. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 19. For more information, visit livenation.com. As always, the proceeds benefit the Bridge School, the facility Neil and Pegi Young founded for children with severe physical disabilities.

Exclusive: Paul McCartney Stars as a Hologram in His New Music Video
By Peter Rubin

Paul McCartney (or “Sir P,” as we have him saved in our phone) has had quite the surprising 2014. First he wrote and recorded “Hope For the Future,” a song for Activision’s massively successful videogame Destiny—the first time he’d ever written specifically for a game. Then, last month, he worked with Jaunt VR to turn his Candlestick Park concert in August into a virtual-reality experience. Now, he completes the high-tech trifecta by not just releasing “Hope For the Future” this week as a standalone song, along with four remixes, but by pairing them with a video that brings him into the world of Destiny. And he was kind enough to give us the worldwide exclusive.

In the video, above, McCartney appears in the 28th-century game universe as a hologram—serenading various Guardians via projection from a Ghost AI assistant. (In the game your character’s Ghost was voiced, somewhat clunkily, by Peter Dinklage, making this quite an upgrade.) And just as in the game, the song’s grandeur perfectly matches the often jaw-dropping landscapes. If that doesn’t sate your appetite for “Hope For the Future” goodness, we’ve also got the exclusive stream of one of the song’s remixes. You go ahead and enjoy; we’ll be busy trying to figure out what tech-savvy shenanigans Sir Paul’s got up his sleeves for next year.

Prince Charles congratulates Cerys Matthews on MBE in WELSH (well, he is Prince of Wales)

The Prince of Wales presented rock star Cerys Matthews with her MBE today - and congratulated her in Welsh.

Charles bestowed the honour on the 45-year-old singer during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, and took the opportunity to demonstrate the language he learned before his investiture as Prince of Wales.

“He said congratulations in Welsh, which is a tough word - llongyfarchiadau,” Matthews said.

“I recently was invited to one of his and Camilla’s evenings in the Llwynywermod, where he has a house.

“It’s a very magical part of the world and it sort of makes sense that he’s got a place there because of his interest in botany and the natural sciences, so we talked about that.”

Matthews, who was born in Cardiff and raised in Swansea, is best known as the lead singer of pop band Catatonia, but feels just as at home humming along to centuries-old folk tunes.

No idea who Jack Lastly is??
Why the interest?
Can not see who he is via google? So Zero chance of finding vid of him with jacked-up Bee Gees?

I know The Bee Gees of old... Aust/UK group back in 60's 70's 80's.
They might be considered as "music criminals" for their involvement in "DISCO" in the 80's

Hailed as a Aust group, but initially but born in UK and went back there.

The Gibb family were Pommy immigrants to Aust. same as my parents and me and brother. About same age and there same time as me... as it happens. They were in Queensland, while I was in NSW (Sydney)... we never met :cool

What you describe sounds like a "tribute" band/rip off? I know nothing

I just googled: (Wikepedia)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythology_Tour

Quote:
The Mythology Tour is the first brotherless tour by British rock musician and singer-songwriter Barry Gibb, and featuring the Bee Gees anthology set album same name.

Background
Gibb designed this tour in October 2012 as a celebration of his brothers Robin and Maurice. Gibb commented about the tour: "I am absolutely thrilled that Australian music lovers have embraced the Mythology Tour so whole-heartedly, given that it’s the country where it all began. I am truly humbled by this response and can’t wait to perform these songs again on home soil.

This tour features his son Steve with Maurice's daughter, Samantha. As Gibb told Sydney Morning Herald: "As the place where we started so many years ago, we have always viewed Australia as our home so it is only fitting that we will be kicking off our Mythology tour there". By 5 October 2012, tickets for the tour were planned to go on sale. The tour began on 8 February 2013 with Gibb's concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Sydney.

While Gibb performed "Spicks and Specks", there was a mini documentary shown on the video screen. Maurice's daughter, Samantha joined the band to sing "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart". Barry Gibb sang "I Started a Joke" for the first time with Robin singing the rest of the song on the video screen with the band.

In April 2013, Gibb announced his first solo UK tour and that he would play five dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland between 21 September and 3 October.[7] The UK leg of the Mythology tour was promoted by Stuart Galbraith of Kilimanjaro Live. The US leg of the tour started in Boston in May 2014.

Wrong name on my part :83

Anyhow here is a bit of information about the "Australian Bee Gee's Tribute Band." (Actually it is their own website

http://www.abgshow.com/multimedia/#home

They were at a Casino I was at for a convention and it was news to me that there was even such a thing as "tribute bands" I vaguely remember the Beatles had a group that did the same for them.

Jack Leftley has the part/role of Maurice.

I finally figured it all out :91
