Drumroll please: It's Sir Ringo as ex-Beatle knighted By New Castle News | March 21, 2018 LONDON (AP) — Call him Sir Ringo now, or Sir Richard to be more precise. Either way, it's a fitting honor for the former Beatles drummer, who has waited decades for the recognition. The 77-year-old Ringo Starr received his long-awaited knighthood from Prince William Tuesday. He used his real name Richard Starkey for the big event. He said the honor "means a lot". It comes more than half a century after the youthful Beatles first went to Buckingham Palace to receive MBE awards. The other surviving Beatle, Paul McCartney, was knighted in 1997. "I had dinner with him last week and we were both actually laughing about where we came from, and we've ended up in the palace and it's now Sir Paul and Sir Richard," said Starr. OMG, this is great! Such an epic video with a little mic for 1987. Beats periscope to hell. My daughter and I watched MTV religiously, danced to (something) in the living room every night before bed, after playing Mario. They both look great, I can't imagine the tales that could be told. |

A broken heart reignites Steve Perry's love for music By Gary Gerard Hamilton | AP/ABCNews | October 16, 2018 In the years after Steve Perry left Journey, he didn't sing for anyone — not even for himself. No songs in the shower, humming tunes on the radio, or private concerts for family or friends. He was that burnt out, despite owning one of the most powerful voices in rock 'n' roll. But a misstep in a relationship forced him to give an impromptu performance, albeit for one, while hiking in the mountains. Perry recalled in a recent interview with The Associated Press that he was in the doghouse with his girlfriend and was begging for forgiveness when she gave him an ultimatum — sing for her. "I said, 'Come on, you know I don't do that, I haven't done it in years. You know that,'" he said. But wanting to salvage the relationship, he asked her for her request: It was "Open Arms." "I started singing it to her. And after I was done, she said 'Okay,'" he said. "So I was taken off the hook for it." That same girlfriend, Kellie Nash, is the reason why he released his first album almost 25 years, "Traces," which debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 albums this week. It's a surprising return from the man whose disappearance from the music scene seemed to be one of the few lasting things in pop music. For decades, Perry refused to make music; even when Journey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Perry declined to sing with the band as they performed "Don't Stop Believin'." Neil Young acknowledges he and Daryl Hannah are married By The Associated Press | November 1, 2018, 7:20PM ET LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hey hey, my my, Neil Young is calling Daryl Hannah his wife. The 72-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and the 57-year-old “Splash” actress had been utterly mum on the subject of their marriage since reports that they wed in California in August. But Young said in a pro-gun-control post on his website Wednesday featuring a new performance of his 1970 song “Ohio” that “My wife Daryl and I put this video together.” The couple’s representatives didn’t reply to requests for comment. It’s the third marriage for Young and the first for Hannah, who had previous relationships with Jackson Browne and John F. Kennedy Jr. She wrote and directed the Netflix movie “Paradox,” starring Young, earlier this year. Young’s hits include “Hey Hey, My My” and “Heart of Gold.
