Yeah. Agree. I have said the same.... but HOPE springs eternal :)
It is hard for a new party to break into any FPTP election and gain seats at all. Perhaps a seat for some local charismatic personality. However, my hope is that BREXIT passion is high enough to overcome the normal voting patterns (entrenched for generations). I have got to maintain that hope.. else give up on UK now. I see no hope for many years if Boris treaty is ratified as it stands.

‘Go Boris’: Tommy Robinson endorses UK PM, saying ‘if we believe in democracy, we have to have Brexit’ (VIDEO)

Image

Former EDL leader Tommy Robinson has voiced his support for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and believes that attaining Brexit is crucial for British democracy.

Speaking outside a London courthouse, Robinson told Ruptly that he supported Nigel Farage's decision not to run Brexit Party candidates against Tory MPs and backed Farage and Johnson in their efforts to see Britain exit the European Union.

“If we want Brexit, if we believe in democracy, we have to have Brexit. So, yeah, go Boris,” Robinson said with a wink. ;)

I am NOT SURPRISED that Tommy Robinson is BACKING BREXIT... but Tommy has been conned too..... SAD!
Tommy did also say "..I'm so happy with what Nigel Farage has done"

Boris deal is NOT BREXIT... it is.. STEALTH REMAIN TREATY

It is heartening to see "Working class" people realizing that Labour has been using them for years. Labour values and concerns abandoned UK worker years ago. However, the working class have a deep distrust of Tories, and I fear it is about to be confirmed as justified. Boris is CONNING traditional Labour voters. "Vote for me to get Brexit done" while he offers a REMAIN TREATY as a "deal"..... IT'S A STITCH UP!

Corbyn - Labour Election promises...

To many to mention... "Free" stuff akimbo... costing TRILLIONS to people who who likely wont be the ones getting "free stuff". Of course the cost is not the only issue... As Marxists, the Labour Party want "the means of production" in the hands of the Proletariat :doh
They want most things owned and RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT... plan to RE-Nationalize "public utilities", and industries it deems as somehow critical to the nation. British Steel, Railways and Telecommunications at the top of the list. Recent speific promise is to take over ("buy back") BT (Brtish Telecom) and provide "FREE BROADBAND" to every UK citizen, no matter how remote their location... :95

This seems to actually meet the approval of a majority of people :doh

THIS IS MARXIST NONSENSE - Not only silly and likely to not be able to be achieved (fantasy), but it is a BAD IDEA. The fact that people do not think things like this through is depressing.. as thay actually vote for their own demise.
THE STATE in control of the Telecom network is a BAD THING.... on many levels. The technology will not thrive if private enterprise and incentives are removed. Businesses already set up to provide Internet/phone etc and related services will likely DIE..or be taken over by a Gov. dept.. say no more! And do people REALLY want their access to the internet decided by the State? (Like in China)... I guess it could be OK for many who toe the line.. but not "dissidents"... "Wrong Think" people.. like the sort of people who mus-gender trans peeps... or say hurty words about Islamic Scholars....

I see mention of The Brexit Party Fail To Field Another 38 Election Candidates In Non-Tory Held Seats.. leaving only 274?

We need to see a candidate list... I am not sure that people are not misreporting (counting twice the 39 or so we already heard about)

-------------------
FARAGE FOLDS Boris Johnson gets election boost as Brexit Party reveals it won’t put up candidates in another 38 non-Tory seats
Nick Gutteridge
16 Nov 2019, 2:34

BORIS Johnson’s election hopes got a boost yesterday as it emerged that the Brexit Party has not put up candidates in a further 38 non-Tory-held seats.

It gives the Conservatives a clear run at Labour in three marginals and opened the way for them to run opposition parties close in another six.
Nigel Farage is giving Boris Johnson's party a clear run at Labour in key marginal seats

The Brexit Party will not contest Dudley North, where Labour has a majority of just 22, or Canterbury where the Tories trail by only 187.

And it is not standing in Lanark and Hamilton East, where the SNP has a 226 majority over the Tories and 550 people voted for Ukip in 2017.

It also will not contest Bristol North West — a bellwether seat the Tories held comfortably until the last election — or a further five Scottish seats where Conservatives trail Labour and the SNP by fewer than 4,000 votes.

Experts say the Tories only need nine seats more than they got in 2017 to win a majority.

It comes after leader Nigel Farage agreed the party would not take on 317 sitting Tory MPs. It’s not known why the party left the 38 seats uncontested.

Mr Farage suffered another blow yesterday as it emerged his candidate for Tory target Tynemouth in the North East of England lives in Australia.

Ed Punchard, 62, has been based in Freemantle, Perth, for the past 30 years.

Mr Farage accused MEP Rupert Lowe, who pulled out of Dudley North at the last minute, of double-crossing him.

But Mr Lowe said there had been “no inducements” and he had discussed it with party chairman Richard Tice.

THE SUN list 275

Quote:
Men outnumber women about two to one in this general election, with about 1,500 men standing compared with about 850 women. However, about 900 of the candidates did not list their gender when submitting their nomination form.

There is a six decade gap between the oldest candidate and the youngest. The youngest candidate in the list is Harry Ross Gorman, who is 18 years old and standing for the Green Party in Wirral South.

--------------
The BBC (and other MSM) headline the "gender gap".... when there are far more relevant things.... such as Political Party.
I already KNOW that there are many daft women ... on both sides.. but they stand out as daft on the Left :)

I am allowing myself the hope that BXP might win a seat or 2 (or more) in the election, and further that they will be able to influence Boris to "Drop the deal"... or at least dramatically change the deal.... but to be honest, I think it's all a fantasy piled on a fantasy. EVEN IF such "dreams" came true... I still think we would be left with NOT BREXIT. An unjustifiable financial penalty, ongoing financial liabilities, and ongoing restrictions and compliance with EU rules and control.

I do not see a "political solution".

Brexit Party MEP: Remain is better than PM's deal
Sky

Brexit Party MEP Ben Habib has told Sophy Ridge that he would rather remain than have the Prime Minister's deal.

Quote:
I have been saying for some time.. Boris deal is NOT BREXIT... it is STEALTH REMAIN TREATY.
As awful as it is to even contemplate Corbyn... a Boris government would mean his treaty ratified and BREXIT DEAD (not done). Corbyn government would at least be funny (in a "clown world" kinda way).. and Brexit would still be alive and argued in parliament.

Ben Habib hopes Brexit Party will win 20 seats ..
(He did not say it was LIKELY.. and I go along with that as a "dream")

Election 2019: London polls show surge to the Lib Dems

Say no more!! :doh

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... -dem-surge

Deltapoll: survey Kensington, Finchley and Golders Green, and Wimbledon
Surveying 3 seats still showing hold for conservative...but... In all three, the Lib Dems have been boosted by their stance on Brexit, mainly at Labour’s expense.

So a downer for Labour and....The good news is.... these are Conservative seats, so BXP not standing in any of them. The point of Nigel's generous consession was so that the Tories could do the business in such sets and defeat DimLibs... If Tories fail...I am not that concerned. I DO NOT WANT BRIS STEALTH REMAIN TREATY anyway.. so have no great desire to see Tories win seats.

And... more Westminster voting intention polls.... 16% Tory lead

Image
https://twitter.com/britainelects/statu ... 8310631424

(To be "fair" SavantaComRes show Con lead 41/33 only 8%)
Mind you...
Yougov shows 45/28... 17% Tory lead
Deltapoll show 45/30... 15% Tory Lead

I think Comres is the "odd man out" (as usual) :roll
Survation look to be a bit "Fakepoll(ish)" as well

PM Johnson says all Conservative election candidates pledge to back his Brexit deal

(Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that all Conservative Party candidates in the upcoming election have pledged to back his Brexit deal.

"All 635 Conservative candidates standing at this election – every single one of them – has pledged to me that if elected they will vote in Parliament to pass my Brexit deal so we can end the uncertainty and finally leave the EU", Johnson told the Telegraph newspaper in an interview published bit.ly/2rSSQ8v late on Saturday.

“I am offering a pact with the people: if you vote Conservative you can be 100% sure a majority Conservative government will unblock Parliament and get Brexit done.”

https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-brit ... SKBN1XQ0QM

Well that just about "wraps it up" for a REAL Brexit IMO
Unless BXP can get enough seats to have a real influence in Parliament (very unlikely) :doh

IF Boris STEALTH REMAIN TREATY is ratified, it wont be BREXIT that is "done"...
LET'S GET BREXIT voters DONE up like a kipper!

In the face of "extreme urgency....

The British have the knack of "taking a tea break" :roll

We have seen this since the weeks/days leading up to 29th March... urgent, urgent, urgent... then deadline passed and it's "a few more weeks".. and eventually an extra 6 months and a NEW deadline. Then... they all go on friggin vacation until more time runs out, the similar rush, rush, rush.. to get (surrender) Acts passed, legal action, Parliament dragged back off (unlawful) Prorogation (just to bitch about the "tone of debate" for a day before going home for a long weekend. NO TIME to close Parliament for Tory Conference.. but NOTHING done in Parliament during those days. And so we got to another FAIL (BETRAYAL) on 31st October.. and need to URGENTLY hold a General election. But even now I see days with little to nothing much happening. Perhaps there are local volunteers canvassing, but on the the National stage no more than a photo op, and perhaps a Party Spokesman doing a news interview. More often than not just the usual Election Promise BS. Borrowing, Free stuff, and taxes only go up for rich bastards (who deserve it).. usually promised to happen by some distant date.. like 2030. When its not done they have the excuse that they were gonna... but didn't because..... "reasons". Also promises of how things will be in the future decades are meaningless since a current Government can not bind a future Government to any policy.

I am doing my best to support BXP.... and I know they had a few candidates quit on Thursday... but even so... they Did NOTHING on Thursday, not even a daily pep talk from the bus... and nothing Friday, or the weekend, or even Monday it seems!! :wall

I see next event advertised is TUESDAY in Peterborough... :roll

Plaid Cymru suspend member over anti-Semitism claims

The BBC headline fails to mention it's an avowed Islamist that wears the face- veil (niqab)

The old Antisemitic tweets have been scrubbed,, as has Plaid Cymry promo tweet ( pics of other Plaid candidates remain) that hijacks the Plaid Cymry slogan ..

In the broadcast, she said: "Activists, it's us," in a reference to Plaid's slogan for the election campaign: "Wales, it's us."

Image

As far as I can tell she is a Plaid Cymru Party MEMBER.. but not a candidate?

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-politics-50453053

I have to say... leftists are just as NUTS .. even with a Welsh accent :doh

Welsh remainers who cite the "EU MONEY" that Wales gets from EU as REASON TO REMAIN...... simply can not comprehend that the (infamous bus poster)...$350 million pounds per week given to EU was ONLY wrong as far as the AMOUNT goes. It is the GROSS AMOUNT... it is not a lie (as such) and in fact the point remains the same if you quote the NET AMOUNT $250 million per week.. that is a BILLION per month that continues to be paid even now... and will be through all the future delays and "extensions?
The EU does NOT give Wales any money in real terms. They TAKE millions off UK tax payers... including Welsh ones.

As a guy of Welsh decent I kinda despair.. lots of feeble minded people in Wales.. but I guess the Scots (SNP) and the Irish, and many of the Poms are are feeble minded too. In fact.. it's a world-wide phenomena... Western Civilization is DOOMED! :doh

I see the LETTERBOX LADY is still featured in Plaid Cymry Campaign video "Wales, it's us"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIsL5oJPjVM

I suppose... at a pinch... you could dress as a letterbox in a campaign vid..... to remind people about POSTAL VOTING! :46

What self-respecting Welshman would vote for a LETTER BOX!

Incumbent Nick Smith (Labour)

Looks like a dork to me :roll

Blaenau Gwent have elected "Independent" MPs a couple of times before Nick Smith 2010... so maybe NOT devout Labour voters? Seems the Independents were Labour types too... but still the voters willing to branch out a bit ;)

Party leaders begin court action over exclusion from TV debates

A court battle to ensure the leaders of the SNP and the Liberal Democrats are included in an ITV televised election debate will get underway today, as Jo Swinson condemned the BBC for “excluding the voice of Remain” from its debate.

SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford said the exclusion of Nicola Sturgeon and other party leaders from the ITV debate, which is due to be broadcast tomorrow night, was a “democratic disgrace”.

https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/ ... -1-5047657

This is CLOWN WORLD stuff. There are other debates scheduled but this one is the HEAD TO HEAD LEADER DEBATE.

It is specifically about comparing the 2 choices for PM (and leader of the opposition). That sort of debate is vert different to multiple people on stage.. all given equal turns... Comparison of the two guys as LEADERS and NEXT PM lost.. in bleating. Likely Swinson will get her feelings hurt over some perceived male privilege offense or other

The One on One is what ITV want to present for the public... not a more general all Parties debate. IF they let in those two daft bints... then I assume all the other parties will want to be included as well, and that make for a VERY DIFFERENT event.

Jo Swinson is NOT A CONTENDER to be PM... As far as I know she is not even certain to hold her own seat and be a MP. :doh
And Nicola Sturgeon IS NOT RUNNING FOR WESTMINSTER PARLIAMENT.. she is a member of the Scottish Parliament :wall

But the HIGH COURT has already revealed that it is KEEN to get involved with Political matters so who knows? :95

---
Or go FULL CLOWN WORLD.... let all Party leaders in....

(18 at last count) :lol

LABOUR Barry Gardiner, Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade

Appearing on Sky... attempted to defend the LUDICROUS plan to take over Telecommunications and provide "Free Broadband" to all. Financially, predicted to crack the ecconomy... and nobody is (yet) discussing the downside of the Government being in charge of who gets access, and what is permitted on the Government Interwebs.

There are OTHER Loony Labour schemes proposed, such as.....A government scheme to fund Apprenticeships..

"Climate Change Apprentices" :lol

THE POLLS: Do foretell of a Tory landslide, and it's a TREND over time and across many independent polling companies. I actually see this as BAD NEWS. If true it means Boris STEALTH REMAIN TREATY will be ratified and Brexit will be DEAD. The ONLY HOPE is for BXP to win enough seats to be able to add some improvements.. but that wont help much, and the reality is BXP are not going to win many(any) seats.....SAD

My neighbor is an ex-pat Pom ... from Radstock originally.
She is of the "Left" persuasion, so I had better not comment on her further (in public)

I just though to keep an eye on her old Constituency... North East Somerset

Oh dear... she has got Jacob Rees-Mogg... and will get him again I am sure. :)
I know she don't like him... would prefer a DimLib I would imagine :)
