I am TRYING to "get out the vote" and get people to vote BXP...

I really think Boris's deal amounts to STEALTH REMAIN TREATY and the only (small) hope I see is for BXP to have some sort of leverage in Parliament, such that the "deal" gets changed. To be honest.... looking at the polls...I think Boris will win and his treaty will be ratified :doh

I think the British people may be angry when they realize what Boris has sold them... and there will be yet pore political upheaval in UK for yet more years... or... The British people will just "roll over". In which case they will be drawn more into the European Empire.. and not even have a say.. perhaps eventually BEGGING to join EU again... but as a defeated lesser regarded member...

Voters dislike Jo Swinson the more they see her, poll finds

Image

Jo Swinson suffered a double blow last night with polling showing that voters like her less as they see her more and the High Court rejecting the Liberal Democrats’ attempt to gain a place in a televised election debate tonight.

Polling analysis shows that Ms Swinson, 39, is far better known since becoming party leader in July, but almost all of those to have formed a view of her have formed a negative one. The shift has been negative even with Remain voters.

Boris V Corbyn - BIG debate soon... 8:00pm on ITV

The ONE THING that sticks in my mind is Corbyn refusing to answer (10 times) the simple question. "What would Labour campaign for in the 2nd referendum" Refusing to commit one way or the other makes Corbyn look like a bigger girl's blouse that Jo Swinson.

As I have said before..
I am HOPING for an election result, that will see some BXP MPs elected, and some influence in Parliament, and in turn lead to a proper Brexit, but I have to say, that is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY.
This is a FPTP election and so, in normal circumstances a new party is not likely to win ANY seats. I retain the HOPE that in local races a particular charismatic BXP candidate will win... but realistically I am DREAMING! So you will get the Boris Treaty and all that flows from that. I dont believe the Free Trade deal will be settled by the end of 2020..extended another 2 years...so you will have 3 years of that... and much much more. As others have said restrictions on UK to "align" with EU in many ways are part of the deal, and that will continue as part of Trade negotiations. There is the 39 Billion Pounds, that people are so resigned to now, they rarely mention it, and it will be much more than that. UK is apparently committed to funding the EU Budget for 2020, and likely beyond that? A Billion pounds per month for a few years at least, and an ongoing financial liability via the European Investment Bank.

The LEAVE win in the 2016 referendum was pleasant surprise.. but I fear it has just caused people to "get their hopes up", and that it will not be ratified at all.

TEA BREAK IS OVER.... Back on your heads!

Campaign Live: Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage launches its 'contract with the people' | ITV News
Streamed live 6 hours ago
ITV News

https://www.thebrexitparty.org/contract/#contract-top

Contract (pdf - 24 pages)
https://www.thebrexitparty.org/wp-conte ... People.pdf

---------------------------
What is GREAT about the Brexit "Contract"(not a manifesto) is that the emphasis was on how to STOP spending hundreds of billions of pounds. It is sickening to hear Tories (as well as Labour) BOASTING about spending even MORE billions. Simply not promising even more is a great start. And.... fob off the daft Climate hysteria with "plant more trees" is GREAT to. This "Climate Crisis" hoax is already having a serious effect on the mental health of the gullible masses... the least we need to do is AVOID spending shit-loads of money... and damaging the Industrial infrastructure of the nation.

Nigel and his gang offer HOPE. Otherwise after the election it will be.... "Tea break is over Great Britain... all you plebs back on your heads"

REALITY CHECK:
The UK system is FPTP, with 2 entrenched main Parties. A new small party is unlikely to win ANY seats. The Brexit betrayal of leave voters COULD cause a constituency upset in 1 or 2 seats... but that is it!! The people have been conned into accepting that Boris deal is Brexit, and so many leavers will vote Tory. The MOST Farage can do is get a foot in Parliament and try and lobby Tories, but that is not likely to achieve anything

Zero news Constituency.... Hampshire

Southampton Test

BTW I looked up the name "Test"... it relates to the river "Test" and that name is thought
to come from Celtic (Welsh) origins, maybe the word Tres meaning "Tumult"

My "REALITY CHECK" was a reaction to many people generally posting somewhat delusional notions about how the election will go.
It is nice to dream. I too want the BXP to do well. I have watched many of their Candidates, not just Farage, and they all come across as genuine, honest, with good ideas. Boris and EVERY politician from the established parties are blatant LIARS.. which in an ironic way could be a good point, because I DO NOT want them honouring pledges to spend Billions of taxpayer money on "The Climate Crisis" and other nonsense. However, I know that FPTP elections do nor favour parties outside the established ones, and people (myself included) view their candidate from inside an information bubble. For instance, people thought Tommy Robinson would "win" (he only needed 8% in that Proportional system), but he got little support (2%). Tommy was courting the SAME disgruntled Labour voters as the BXP are now. They simply did not abandon Labour as predicted when they got to the ballot box (Labour got 2 MEPs from NW)
I KNOW the limitations of polls. I view them with great caution, but they do not indicate any seat wins for BXP in this election. Richard Tice in Hartlepool is a top contender.. he shows 16%.. a distant third place.

UK General Election and Brexit - Rumpole predicts....

FAR from what I WANT to happen... but realistically what I see as likely based on information available

Election
Outright win to Conservatives (60 seat majority, or more)
NO SEATS for "Brexit Party" (BXP).
Minor parties back in their boxes, few seats, little to no leverage in Westminster
SNP will continue to work "Scottish Independence" into every speech their MPs make about any topic.

Boris treaty Ratified, "Brexit" 31st January 2020)
(short "technical extension" at most)

Going forward
Jeremy Corbyn replaced as Labour Leader. New guy just as bad
Jo Swinson replaced as head of DimLibs. New leader unknown, just as bad
"Brexit" advanced, but it is really "Brexit in name only" (BRINO), "Stealth Remain"
Nigel Farage returns to "day job" at LBC radio.
Brexit party fades away
The "Brexit Transition period" will be extended to 2023 (and beyond)
UK pay 39 billion "initial divorce payment", with many more billions added later.
UK will not get "200 mile" Fishing rights zone back
UK will struggle to get a "Free Trade" deal with EU, even after 3 years negotiation.
UK will be restricted (blocked) from Free Trade deals with USA (and others)
There will be increased unrest in Northern Ireland. Likely violence, shooting and bombs again.

There is still HOPE... not a lot... but some...

Boris/Cummings deal (treaty) is NOT BREXIT.. it is STEALTH REMAIN.. likely another Cunning Cummings plan!!
Brexit DIES if Boris gets unfettered power. .. the only hope (small hope) is a small BXP presence in Parliament to MAYBE get some changes to the BRINO

Cummings trying discourage people from voting for BXP. He does NOT want Farage with any any seats, and "leverage" or influence going forward. He is IGNORING the fact that it is HIM (THE TORIES) who are "splitting the leave vote" in Lab seats. CUMMINGS (The Tories) are the ones who need to "stand down"... but they wont... for selfish reasons. They would RATHER the seat was a Lab hold than a win to BXP

Tonight will be the first seven-way election debate hosted by the BBC, which will be broadcast on BBC One, the BBC News channel, and on iPlayer from 7pm. It will be a seven-way debate broadcast live from Cardiff, chaired by Nick Robinson. However, neither Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn are set to take part. The Conservative Party's chief secretary to the Treasury Rishi Sunak will take part, and Labour's business secretary Rebecca Long Bailey will represent her party.

Said to be streamed live 7:00pm ...eg at BBC website.

I take the point. Corbyn is awful. Boris is better, but... The principle of voting for somebody despite them being CONTRARY to the voters best interests APPLIES TO BORIS just as much as Corbyn.
Boris deal/Treaty is NOT BREXIT. It is STEALTH REMAIN. Brexit DIES if Boris gets clear majority and pushes on with his deal. In a strictly "Brexit" sense... Corbyn is BETTER than Boris.
