Theresa May postpones the Parliamentary vote on her Daft "Not Brexit" agreement. Just more delay.. she is "seeking advice" from EU leaders... seems that is about finding some "spin" to make it seem not as bad as it is.. and fool her colleges in UK Parliament so that they vote for it. IMHO a Crap sandwich with sprinkles.. is still gonna be a crap sandwich I think UK should go for NO DEAL BREXIT I would not trust ANY deal concocted by EU people.... nor any people in power in UK. The fact that Theresa May (and others) are finding it so hard to LEAVE EU confirms that EU is a BAD PLACE... a trap that UK should never have fallen into in the first place. The EU are even imposing what amounts to a financial punishment for leaving. I would say get lost to that Many UK voters seem to see EU as the norm.. and exit being "radical" but even in my lifetime I remember when the EEC first formed (60's). It was just an economic alliance.. to gain the benefits of scale with one large negotiating body for trade... and at that time FRANCE refused to let UK join!!! General De Gaulle maintained a French VETO on UK even though they applied to join the EEC, and other E.C. nations would have accepted them It grew as Bureaucracies always do.. to be concerned with all aspects of life. An additional top level of government. When England did eventually gain entry After De Gaulle's death) it seems they joined on France's terms. THAT should have been a warning sign. It was started as just an economic union.... to join together for a stronger position on Trade with countries outside Euro-member states...and as an expanded "local" market... facilitated goods and people movement within the group. and IMHO it was set up as a protectionist racket for weak Euro countries. UK wanted in so that they could trade with Europe more easily.. but in hindsight they would have been much better off staying outside. "the way things always have been"... it is relatively new. It is "an experiment" in a sense... run for only 40 - 50 years, and IMO it did NOT work out well at all for UK citizens. They should be able to JUST LEAVE. To enter into Trade agreements with the EU (if they chose to) and any other nation as well, as they have done for centuries. |

Voting underway...... Theresa May needs 159 votes to win the confidence vote. (out of 315 Conservative MPs) She has said she will not lead the Party into the next General Election (2022)... I guess that is designed to get people to vote for her now... with a promise she will go in 4 years? I don't see ANY value in that!! The crisis is NOW.... May is stuffing up Brexit now... which could bind UK way past 2022 Yet people are predicting that May will WIN tonight?? |

Following the decision to restore the whip to Charlie Elphicke and Andrew Griffiths, there are now 317 Conservative MPs. Two MPs accused of sexual harassment have had the Conservative whip returned - meaning they can save Theresa May in the no-confidence vote The BBC has counted 187 Tory MPs saying they will vote for Theresa May. The Telegraph has got 174 in that category, and we got to the tally up to 169. But relatively few MPs have said publicly that they will vote against May. The BBC list has got the most names, but only 35. |
