Government set to delay the Queen's Speech to play for time on Brexit

Today the Prime Minister's spokesman confirmed that a new parliamentary session would not begin until the deal is passed

By Nicola Bartlett, Political Correspondent

The Government could delay the Queen's Speech until the autumn in order to get Brexit vote through the Commons.

The current parliamentary session - already on course to be the longest in postwar history - is due to end in June.

But if it was extended that would avoid the need to immediately renew the DUP confidence-and-supply deal which has been severely strained by the backstop contained in the PM's Brexit deal.

Today the Prime Minister's spokesman confirmed that a new parliamentary session would not begin until the thrice-defeated Withdrawal Agreement is passed.

YOU CAN'T make this stuff up :doh

Delay UNTIL MAY'S Deal is passed?

May's Deal (Treaty) has failed 3 times... it is CRAP... it is a binding treaty WORSE than current EU membership.

It is a REMAIN option a BINO (Brexit in Name only)

UK Parliament is voting on whether to declare a 'climate emergency' today

An opposition motion put up by Labour.. so it should fail..... but who knows?... UK parliament is full of idiots.

It could see the UK could become the first in the world to declare a climate emergency when MPs vote on the issue on Wednesday. :roll

Labour Party MP's have their Tits in a tangle...

Not happy that Corbyn is NOT insisting on a "People's Vote".... said to be "fudging" by saying that changes to "The May Deal" will not require a people's vote. They all seem to MISS THE POINT that a "people's vote" (another referendum) is NOT ACCEPTABLE at all to the 17.4 million who already voted to leave :roll

UK Parliament declares climate change emergency

MPs have approved a motion to declare an environment and climate emergency.

This proposal, which demonstrates the will of the House on the issue but does not legally compel the government to act, was approved without a vote.

As I posted at Bitchute....

MEP election results may well "send a message" but unfortunately there is NOBODY who might get the message, let alone take heed.

May is STILL going to push her deal (treaty), possibly with variations, but they are likely to make it worse, if anything. The EU have already said that they will NOT accept variations on the Treaty.. so May is just wasting everybody's time. I think she KNOWS that and is still "sticking to the plan" of getting her "plan" accepted by Parliament. (4th time is a charm)

People seem to miss the point that whatever "deal" is cobbled together it will be a "softening" of Brexit... a way to REMAIN at least in part. It is NOT what people voted for. It is silly to continue to search for such a "deal"

LEAVE TODAY

Cameras caught Theresa May being called ‘pathetic’ and ‘insane’ by EU Brexit negotiators
Zoe Drewett
Thursday, 9 May 2019 7:46 am

Image

Some of the EU’s top Brexit negotiators have been caught on camera ridiculing Theresa May as she attempts to take Britain out of Europe in a stark new BBC documentary. The Prime Minister is branded ‘pathetic’ and ‘insane’ by staff working in the office of EU chief Brexit co-ordinator Guy Verhofstadt in Storyville: Brexit Behind Closed Doors. Following talks between Britain and the EU, the film shows European Parliament workers laughing at May and the UK. At one point Verhofstadt’s chief of staff, Guillaume McLaughlin, responding to news her Brexit deal has not been cleared with the DUP, says: ‘What the f*** is wrong with her. That’s insane. “I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to her?” ‘That’s ridiculous. Pathetic, pathetic.’ He is also filmed shouting ‘oh f*** off’ at a TV screen of the PM’s speech to the Tory party conference that she wants to secure a deal.

Quote:
The gripping untold story of the Brexit negotiations... from the other side. For two years, Belgian film-maker, Lode Desmet, has had exclusive access to the Brexit co ordinator of the European parliament, Guy Verhofstadt, and his close knit team. This revelatory fly-on-the-wall film captures the off-the-record conversations and arguments of the European negotiators as they devise their strategy for dealing with the British. Episode one watches as the Europeans’ respect for a formidable negotiating opponent turns into frustration and incredulity as the British fail to present a united front. At moments funny and tragic, it ends with the debacle in December 2017 when Theresa May flies in to Brussels to finalise details of a deal and is publically humiliated by her coalition partner, Arlene Foster of the DUP, who refuses to support the deal.

Theresa May is a CLOWN...

I really do not think her or her staff are competent.

There must be some constitutional way to remove an incompetent PM?

29th March was the date UK left EU.... the rest is just nonsense.

What happened to things being urgent leading up to 29th March... and even more so the next couple of weeks up to 12th April... then loopy Theresa gets a Halloween extension... and MPs just fuck off on Holiday, and Parliament shuts down. ... and no sign of urgency when they stagger back?
