Advanced reporting of Boris speech tomorrow...

Includes FINAL OFFER Brexit deal to be sent to EU

It has also been mentioned that ONLY GOVERNMENTS can negotiate EU mebership, treaties etc... ans that is GOVERNMENT... not parliament!!
(So surrender Act is crap??)

“We will keep fighting to respect the biggest democratic vote in British history. The EU is obliged by EU law only to negotiate with member state governments, they cannot negotiate with parliament, and this government will not negotiate delay.”

Take it or leave it: Boris Johnson will make dramatic final offer to EU bosses and warn them that it's either his deal or no deal

  • In a speech he will warn Brussels 'a new deal or No Deal' is the only way forward
  • PM will lay down a 'fair compromise' including customs checks on Irish backstop
  • If the EU refuses to negotiate, Britain will leave without agreement, a source said
  • This is despite Members of Parliament passing a law ruling out a No Deal exit
  • No 10 source said Brussels should not try to bypass Mr Johnson in favour of MPs

Boris Johnson will tomorrow make a take-it-or-leave-it Brexit offer to the EU.

In a speech to the Conservative Party conference he will warn Brussels 'a new deal or No Deal' is the only way forward.

The Prime Minister will lay down a 'fair and reasonable compromise' including customs checks to resolve the issue of the Irish backstop.

If the EU refuses to negotiate, Britain will leave without agreement, according to a senior government source.

This is despite MPs passing a law ruling out a No Deal exit.

The source said: 'Officials have made it clear that if Brussels does not engage with this offer, then this Government will not negotiate further until we have left the EU.

'It is take it or leave it. Officials also made clear that the Prime Minister will in no circumstances negotiate a delay at the EU Council on October 17.'

A highly-placed No 10 source said Brussels should not try to bypass the Prime Minister in favour of MPs.

'The EU is obliged by EU law only to negotiate with member state governments, they cannot negotiate with Parliament, and this Government will not negotiate delay,' said the insider. David Frost, who is Mr Johnson's chief Brexit adviser, will deliver details of the blueprint to Brussels today.

The Government hopes that the EU will agree to enter the 'tunnel' – code for intensive, secret negotiations aimed at finding a compromise.

But Mr Johnson faced a backlash yesterday when he confirmed for the first time that his plan will involve customs checks on the island of Ireland.

A senior EU diplomat accused him of adopting 'kamikaze' tactics, saying Brussels would never accept the plan.

Incoming EU trade commissioner Phil Hogan said another delay was now more likely than a deal.

The all new improved Boris deal looks like crap to me

Not that I claim to have read all the details, (of this or May's Deal). I take the more general point that these "deals" are in fact TREATIES (as Farage often says). IMO there is no such thing as a "Brexit Deal"... Brexit means LEAVE, any variation is in fact a REMAIN DEAL.. to stay bound to EU in part at least .. and to pay them a "divorce settlement" which is still part of this nonsense.. 39 Billion (or more) which is just plain NUTS. People talk of financial commitments that UK has to honor.. but the EU were forewarned on the day of the Referendum. IF they had accepted that Brexit won, they would have had 3 years (or more) to adjust their financial expectations of stealing more UK taxpayer money. They have even received a billion/month for all that time.. and are still getting that payola. (by my reckoning EU have taken at least 39 billion already since the referendum... it would be NUTS to give them a penny more.. regardless of any "deal" and transition period)

Sounds like this deal is NOT going down well in Brussels.
The Irish DUP MPs have expressed a willingness to go along.. but from what I hear there is a lot of dissent among N. Ireland public?
And... even if there are changes, and EU acceptance.... that still leaves the need to get this passed in UK Parliament... and those bastids are outed as mostly NO BREXIT stooges now.

It seems that Boris's deal includes PAYING the 39 billion... :wall

Still bound by EU law etc etc........and transition in trade to AT LEAST 2021... likely extended... and that means NO TRADE DEALS with rest of the world (like USA) for several years yet.

IF The Boris plan goes through... I give up on things UK...

I HOPE Boris is "playing games" and does NOT want this crap? But I fear he and many others do see this (remain) plan as serious :roll

Really... we again have to HOPE that the EU reject this deal... because it sounds like UK Parliament will pass it!! :doh

It looks like Lord Nigel of Farage was correct... Boris is "Trying it on"... bringing back Treason May's crap treaty with an Irish Backstop tweak :roll

More Legal interference ..... Scottish bawbag judges due to pronounce today.. :roll

Anti-Brexiters in legal bid to force Boris Johnson to ask EU for delay
Scottish judge could order PM to request article 50 extension if he fails to secure deal
Severin Carrell Scotland editor
Tue 1 Oct 2019 15.01 BST

Image
SNP MP Joanna Cherry, outside the court of session in Edinburgh, is one of the campaigners bringing the case.

Boris Johnson could be ordered by a Scottish judge to delay Brexit after pro-remain campaigners secured an emergency court hearing for this Friday.

The campaigners have asked the court of session in Edinburgh to issue an interdict, or injunction, which would force the prime minister to ask the EU for an extension to article 50 if he fails to get a new deal passed at Westminster by 19 October.

Lord Pentland, the judge, said he would hear the case on Friday and issue his ruling on Monday, which is likely to trigger appeals that will end with a fresh UK supreme court hearing within the next three weeks.

The hearing is TODAY (Friday) but the ruling said to not be announced until Monday... and then likely appeals :doh
This crap seems silly... a ruling on penalty for a "crime" that has NOT HAPPENED...might be done in the future? :lol
By the time this is through the courts.... Boris will heve done the crime or not... so a "ruling in advance" will be MOOT (as they say.

Dang!!! :wall

Boris Johnson WILL ask Brussels for a Brexit extension!

Quote:
Jeff Taylor
Government documents sent to the Court of Sessions in Edinburgh reveal that the government position is that it WILL send a letter the EU Council asking for an Article 50 extension, should there be no deal in place before the 19th of October.

-------------------------
BUT WAIT...............

No Brexit Delay Confirms Boris Johnson!

Quote:
Jeff Taylor
So, even after a legal memo sent to the Edinburgh Court of Sessions that confirms the PM will send the Article 50 letter in accordance with the law, Boris has just confirmed no Brexit delay!

Sounds great... but I for one am fed up with this crap.... "Cunning plan, my arse!!"

I think Boris is BLUFFING... pretending "no deal" is still an option :roll

You have one week to make a better offer, EU tells Boris Johnson

EU tells Boris Johnson that his Brexit offer does NOT provide basis for a deal as PM prepares for whirlwind trips to European capitals next week in last ditch bid to avoid disorderly exit from Europe

  • Boris Johnson has submitted his 'final offer' plans to scrap backstop to the EU
  • EU yet to formally respond but initial noises not been good for Downing Street
  • European ambassadors reportedly set Oct 11 deadline for PM to change his offer
  • If no progress by that new deadline chances of No Deal will rise significantly
  • PM due to go on European trip at start of next week to urge leaders to back him
