George Zimmerman: I want to quit fighting in court with Angela Corey

SANFORD — Former Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman says he's done fighting in court with Special Prosecutor Angela Corey.

In paperwork filed at the Seminole County criminal courthouse Feb. 20, Zimmerman says he is giving up his promised fight to make the state pay his legal bills.

He's also wants to put an end to his lawyers' fight with prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda, whom they had asked a judge to punish, alleging unethical behavior, including hiding evidence.

If Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson agrees, that would clear the way for Zimmerman to move forward with his defamation suit against NBCUniversal. A hearing in that case is scheduled Friday.

Zimmerman alleges that NBC falsely portrayed him as a racist.

I'd bet money on it being an out of court settlement. All the lose ends are being quietly snipped.
This is about the last... poor Ben Kruidbos left to carry the can,,, I don't think his case is going far now that Bernie sanctions and Judicial inquiry is Kaput!

GZ is out of the news... (mostly) The twitter wars and stuff is a sideshow. I don't see NBC letting this suit get to court and opening up all the past stuff and any new stuff they might have to present in court. NBC will settle.

I doubt it will ever get to a trial. Seems most news stations settle. I actually wish he didn't drop the sanctions with Bernie and Corey. I kind of feel bad for Ben being as what he did that caused him to be fired was beneficial to George's case. Now he's left high and dry.

If Zimmerman gets a "bound by a confidentiality agreement" but very sizable settlement out of NBC (insert cartoon of peacock missing quite a few feathers here), then he might then be in a position to be of some assistance to Kruidbos behind the scenes without endangering his own by then settled case.

That is a possibility, unitron... but my Guess is the Kruidbos thing will just fizzle out before any NBC settlement.

I think you are correct here.

The longer this thing drags out without apparent movement, the more it points to a settlement, or even less.
