Pretty sure Beasly is waiting out the statute of limitations. Pretty sure, too, that Beasley will "bring it". And George can bring a U-Haul to transport his winnings.

I agree LL... so you must be right :) :cool

It might take a while yet though? I don't really know. Offers and counter offers... and an eventual settlement out of court.

Which is VERY unfortunate... I can't see the TRUTH being aired about TM and the Scheme etc.... which is a very important aspect I think. George getting a truckload of money is Beasley's job though. He has to take a big settlement offer if (when) it is made.

I answered in regard to the statute of limitations which doesn't apply to this case since it has already been filed. Civil suits take a long time to get to trial. IMO

LL is talking about statue of limitations that DOES APPLY for any potential Wrongful death suit by The schemers.
(we discussed that in the main thread)

We know the Beasley suit is filed already (this thread started with that info) and links to court documents posted..... but we are discussing the fact that he may be delaying progress now until we are past any potential WD suit by Crump/Martin/Fulton.
That statute expires on date of 2 year anniversary of TM's death Feb 26th, 2014)

( I deleted the "newsbusters" link... hardly news, or busting since it is from July, and is just a BLOG quoting the original July Washington Post article which is linked in POST 1 of this thread... back in July)

Does anyone know what part O'Mara will play in the suit?

I didn't say this was busting news, but the case was put on hold back then. A Civil suit is never done at the same time a criminal case is in progress. That's why it was put on hold. It was only filed to stop the statute of limitations. IMO

Just curious, why would the Beasley firm wait for the statute of limitations to run out on a wrongful death suit by the Martins?

I really don't think a wrongful death suit is anything like a defamation suit against NBC. Two entirely different cases.

A WD suit would IMO be "frivolous" to say the least. No chance of succeeding. Crump and the schemers MIGHT be able to get some publicity (fund raising opportunities) but ultimately they would lose (and perhaps have to pay costs). However they are just dopey enough to try.
It is just a guess that Beasley is waiting for a clean "clear run" without something like that also on the go. I don't imagine Beasley is actually totally inactive and that there is communication ( tentative offers or at least "feelers").

Off topic a bit but would Crump's shenanigans come into play in such a lawsuit since he was indirectly responsible for the initial release of the NEN tape?

Yes
I just posted in the General GZ thread that she has recused herself from the Murder case... yet as far as I know there are still matters to be resolved... I guess all part of a Judicial Game.

I do hope not too. Judge Nelson was not very good at hiding her bias against Zimmerman. I will always believe she was mixed up in the scheme to railroad him.

Is this a bad thing, or does it even matter? Mark O'Mara didn't make a big deal of her harshness.

Do you thing that "harshness" will aid Zimmerman when this trial is taking place? Who will represent George?
