Thread #8.

Let this be the last one, with an acquittal coming by the end of the week.

Followed by GZ filing and winning law suits against those who wrongly accused and depicted him.

Chip, I share your hope that there will be a FAVOURABLE outcome before the need for a Thread #9

But...... discussion may well carry on even after the verdict.

I'd hate to think that people will vanish from RT at the end of this trial? :eek

Hope people can find other stuff to post about here... or bring some stuff to post about

The Dunn trial is coming up in September and another hot issue.
Bernie is so mean spirited which I hope has not escaped the jury. George's family put out of the courtroom even after they testified. These women are no dopes.

Edit Rumpole:
Created a thread.. anybody interested in the case please flesh it out a bit

A Note on site navigation

It has come to my attention that people do not see a lot of what gets posted at RT.

The best way to check on all the activity.. when you log on, as well as subsequently is to use the links across the top of all the pages

View unanswered posts | View active topics....................... View unread posts | View new posts | View your posts

I need to see everything that gets posted here and I do that by clicking on "View New Posts"

That list clears if you log off, so you may prefer "View active topics" or one of the others

IF you have something NEW that is not being discussed at the moment.....

View the INDEX - there will almost certainly be a suitable thread already... or we will create one

Just wondering....

I assume the Jury do NOT get to take "visual aids" back with them for deliberations.

So not the Defence video... NOR the Prosecution Cabbage Patch doll.

I guess they did not dare enter "The Dummy" into evidence?

Even Bernie is not that cruel, well, not before verdict. I could imagine him trying to keep them sequestered after the anticipated verdict comes out.

George Zimmerman Trial: Defense Rests

The defense has rested in the George Zimmerman trial. It did not introduce any evidence of Tryavon Martin's marijuana use or fighting.

Its final two witnesses were Olivia Beltaran, a former resident at Retreat at Twin Lakes whose home was burglarized in August, 2011, and Robert Zimmerman, George's father. Mr.Zimmerman was only asked about the voice screaming for help in Jenna Lauer's 911 call, and his identification of George as the person screaming when he was interviewed by FDLE early on in the case, before Zimmerman was charged.

Ex-police chief speaks out about Zimmerman case

SANFORD, Fla. -
The police chief at the center of a firestorm over the decision not to arrest George Zimmerman tells Local 6 in an exclusive interview that he may have saved his job had he given into pressure, but he believes that would have violated his oath to uphold the Constitution.

Former Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr. said he got the call about shooting of Trayvon Martin on a rainy Sunday evening --Feb. 26, 2012 -- and headed to the scene at the Retreat at Twin Lakes.

"We had a 17-year-old, dead child -- somebody's child. And everyone wanted to find out the truth about what happened so that we could seek justice and make sure that justice was found for that 17-year-old child," Lee said.

Without specific evidence to refute Zimmerman's self-defense claims, Lee said, an arrest would have subjected the city to possible litigation for unlawful arrest.
