The sad thing is, I am in no way whatsoever confident of a proper verdict here... in fact, I'm more pessimistic about the jury's role in this than ever, and I've always been pretty pessimistic about it.

I was just posting some stuff on Huffington a bit ago and the way the Trayvonites are still just so absolutely committed to their fact-starved narrative... is truly breathtaking and disappointing. They've assembled their own entire list of little automatic responses to every fact you can give them... and they're utterly convinced of each of them. Even though some of them are jaw-droppingly absurd or disconnected from the actual evidence.

One example that is particularly sad is how they like to mention Wolfinger and Lee no longer working in their former roles... so, what you basically have here is a snake eating it's own tail or something. They create a mindless horde calling for blood, that then results in officials being thrown under the bus when they uphold their duties with integrity... then they later use their own victories for emotion over logic and law as further evidence of their stupid notions...

it's just sick.

Robert Zimmerman just gave an improptu presser, very eloquent in Spainish and English....he did great...said once the jury is seated he will no longer be tweeting.

Judge suggests they separate potential jurors by answer to Question 4, unknown to us. May ask about hardship, or perhaps media exposure?

My understanding is that if the jury reflects Seminole County demographics it SHOULD be almost entirely, or entirely white.

To be brutally honest, with very... VERY few exceptions I simply don't think having black jurors on this case is consistent with the goal of a fair trial.

While this is what the Sanford statistics bear out.....can you imagine what would happen??

I expect that the jury pool is rigged and there will be at least 2 blacks on the jury.

That's my bet too, John. Anything else would be riot-inducing.

I agree they will ensure at least 2 blacks, but remember that anything less than a guilty verdict is riot-inducing.

And we *must* not become a country that allows considerations like that to influence who gets charged with a crime...

oh wait... we already have become that.

but let's hope this was just the wake up call which was needed to correct course.

I am having so much trouble with ClickOrlando buffering all the time. I have the fastest broad band from Quest that is used for game playing. This is becoming a very bad problem.
Any suggestions?

I think one black juror is enough and should be educated. Out of 500 prospective jurors, one should be found.

I wouldn't mind seeing one or two Spainish jurors.
