I'll keep this thread going.. there may be some more discussion on this DV case. And of course we will follow the ongoing court hearings etc

But there may also be more "other matters"? Who knows?

George Zimmerman Leaves Jail, Can't Have Guns
Nov. 19, 2013

via World News

George Zimmerman walked out of jail today after agreeing to give up his guns and wear an electronic monitor.

Zimmerman, who had been acquitted earlier this year of murder in the death teenager Trayvon Martin, had posted a $9,000 bond for his release.

In addition to giving up his guns and wearing a monitor, Zimmerman was told he must stay away from his girlfriend.

Earlier in the day, Zimmerman stood expressionless as the judge explained that there is probable cause in his case and a bead of sweat trickled down his face as the judge explained the conditions for his release.

The state attorney said that the victim, identified by police as Zimmerman's girlfriend Samantha Scheibe, said there was a prior domestic violence incident a week-and-a-half ago that involved "a choking."

The victim also said that Zimmerman has threatened to commit suicide, saying he "had nothing to lose," the state attorney said.

"She is in fear for her safety," the state attorney said of the victim. The victim asked for "no contact and no return."

His arraignment will be Jan. 7, 2014.

Jeff Dowdy, chief of Seminole County Public Defender's Office, is Zimmerman's new attorney. In a news conference after the hearing, he told reporters it was "too early to say if it's a meltdown but we'll find out."

Assistant public defender Daniel Megaro said he was "confident" Zimmerman will be acquitted. He said the allegation that Zimmerman has been suicidal was "news to us."

He also said that Zimmerman has maintained his innocence.

"Of course he's sorry for what happened, but he's maintaining his innocence," the attorney said.

They attorneys said they did not see anything in Zimmerman's behavior that caused any immediate concern for his safety or that he would be a danger to anybody else.

Before the hearing, Dowdy told reporters that Zimmerman is "indigent" and about $2.5 million in debt.

When asked how Zimmerman was doing after a night in jail, Dowdy said, "He's upset. He's calm, but he's upset. He wants to go home."

As I did with the first incident, I will form no opinion until I hear official evidence (which does not include media reports). From what I've learned about Zimmerman, I believe him to be a good natured person who will not hesitate to help others in need, but he is lacking somewhat in intelligence and judgement. So I would not be surprised to hear he's done something dumb. In any domestic quarrel, I tend to take the statements of both parties with a box of salt. Even people who are normally honest will turn to dishonesty in a domestic dispute.

George Zimmerman's girlfriend speaks to Local 6
Samantha Scheibe, her mother detail their relationship with Zimmerman
Author: Erik Sandoval
Published On: Nov 19 2013 10:41:43 PM EST Updated On: Nov 19 2013 11:50:00 PM EST

George Zimmerman’s girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, described Zimmerman as alone, depressed and fascinated by guns in the days after after his acquittal on charges in connection with the death of Trayvon Martin.

Scheibe and her mother, Hope Mason, spoke with Local 6 on and off through text messages and phone calls over the past three weeks as they talked about participating in an on camera interview about Scheibe’s relationship with Zimmerman.

That interview never materialized, but the conversations provided extensive details about the couple’s relationship and Zimmerman’s life after the verdict.

Scheibe first entered the public eye as the mystery blonde seen in news helicopter video consoling George Zimmerman after that infamous iPad incident with his wife, Shellie.

By the time of that September incident, Shellie had filed for divorce, and George Zimmerman had started dating Scheibe. Zimmerman eventually moved into her home.

But soon, Scheibe said her relationship with Zimmerman decayed as he fought bouts of depression. She said she feared him, but said she stayed with him because she thought she could help him.

By the end of October, Scheibe said she demanded that Zimmerman get professional help for depression. She claims that in response, Zimmerman moved all of her furniture, clothes and food out of her Seminole County home.

“She’s scared is the bottom line,” Scheibe’s mother, Mason, wrote in a text message.

Scheibe and her mother started to seek interviews with national media outlets. Mason said she hoped by Scheibe doing the interview, she would force Zimmerman to get help - and the attention would keep Scheibe safe.

That's an interesting article. So Samantha and her Mom have been shopping around the last 3 weeks for interviews? She claims he OD'ed and could not revive him so she sat there staring at his breathing? Why didn't she call 911? How many people do you know who OD on a bottle of sleeping pills and wake up later? How come no mention to local 6 about George strangling her?? Why did that ONLY come out at the hearing?

LOL Rumpole you and I are on same wave length!

I think this interview will work in George's favor. Subpoena the text messages from the Local 6 reporter and enter them into evidence! It's no wonder George's attorney believes George will walk away from this.

I like the way you think, Froggie... only we are STILL waiting for somebody to subpoena stuff from Matt Gutman. Seems by the time you get close to stuff from media... it's been erased. :)

Lets hope George has a more "pro-active" attorney for this case.

I like the Mark Eiglarsh piece you posted at CTH.. Froggie...

George Zimmerman WIll Probably Be Acquitted, Again
Posted On: November 19, 2013 by Mark Eiglarsh

By now, you've probably heard that George Zimmerman was re-arrested. This time, he's charged with felony aggravated assault and two misdemeanors, domestic violence battery and criminal mischief. The arrest occurred this Monday, approximately 1:30 p.m. in Apopka, Florida.

Zimmerman's girlfriend alleges, as memorialized in the arrest report, that he pointed his shotgun at her "for one minute." Additionally, she alleges that just before committing the aggravated assault, he broke her table using the butt of his shot gun. (hence, the criminal mischief charge) The basis for the domestic violence battery charge stems from her allegation that he pushed her.

The alleged victim's 911 call seems to corroborate what she is alleging. Zimmerman also called 911, however, had a different version as to what took place. He alleges that his girlfriend was, "for lack of a better term, going crazy on me." He further explained to the 911 operator that she was throwing all his property out. Zimmerman further claimed that while he did have a firearm with him, he never pulled it out, keeping it locked safely in his bag. Regarding the busted table, Zimmerman alleges that his girlfriend did it.

O.K., so here's why Zimmerman will probably walk on this one too. First, he may be innocent. Let's face it, none of us knows what went on between those two. She wouldn't be the first scorned woman to either lie and/or stretch the truth for personal benefit. Secondly, he may be guilty as heck, however, the evidence may be lacking.

As to the most serious charge, the aggravated assault, where Zimmerman is facing up to five years in prison with a three year minimum mandatory, the only evidence that the crime occurred will be coming from the alleged victim's lips. This one becomes the classic, "She said, he said." While jurors may feel he "may have" pointed his weapon at her, or he "most definitely probably" did, that's not enough under the law. We learned that with the Casey Anthony case. The same analysis applies to the other two charges. Only she can say that he broke the table and pushed her.

And quoting Froggie at CTH.... :)

I’m sure once his attorney reads the article and tells the jury how she was shopping around with her Mother for interviews, the case will go down the toilet for the prosecution.

Is it NOT possible that Georges attorney could motion for these charges to be dropped.... it all sounds VERY much like a set-up to me now?

From CTH... Sundance has brought together evidence of "set-up" in a blog......

George Zimmerman Set Up ? – If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck….. Avoid The Bill: don’t sleep with it !

Sex Tapes? Depression, Drugs & Suicide?

For those who have followed the post-trial Zimmerama (Zimmerman + Drama) it’s fair to say stable judgment is not an excessive commodity.

Extending and accepting the baseline premise that no-one ever really knows what’s going on in the he said/she said world of emotional Ping-Pong nonsense.

There is however, something afoot; something amiss; something, well, sketchy with the latest “girlfriend” *quack* drama.

I personally think Samantha and mommy were hoping to cash in on and interview with George and her on Local 6 but that George wouldn't go for it and she got pissed and decided to file domestic violence charges against him. None of her accusations to Local 6 make any sense even for someone depressed.

George took a bottle of sleeping pills and instead of calling 911 she sat and watched him breath. Unlike everyone else who takes a bottle of sleeping pills, George miraculously wakes up.

He was depressed and violent but she stayed in hopes to help him

She saw Shellie hit George with the Ipad but refused to give a statement to police to help George defend himself to them.

She feared George so much and according to Mommy, things were getting heated on Samantha's end and needed to move quickly on an interview in hopes to get George help and keep her safe. How would an interview make her safe or get George help?

By the end of October, she demanded that Zimmerman get professional help for his depression. Then says, George moved all of her furniture, clothes and food out of her house. Why would he move her stuff out of her house? That makes no sense at all!

George threatened her by sending her a still image from an "intimate video" they made and even sent it to her daughter (I saw the kids facebook page and she looks all of 9 or 10 tops!) Now I ask you, if someone sent your underage child a picture from a porn video you made with them, would you even want to stay with this person? Of course not. a REAL mother would protect their child from someone who would do that, not stay with that person claiming to want to help them.

This woman is so full of chit it isn't funny! Gawd I hope his attorney uses this information against her because THIS is the kind of things needed to discredit her.

I agree Froggie.... at the very LEAST a good lawyer should be able to point to this "doubt" about her credibility.. and as you have suggested... get the correspondence with click Orlando to PROVE stuff. Surely we don't have to go through with a farce of a case... motion to dismiss... now?

Don't prosecutors have to do some checking of statements and witnesses and stuff like that :roll
