George Zimmerman's girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, recently recanted the domestic-violence allegations she originally made during a November dispute, according to court documents.

The motion to modify conditions of pretrial release was filed by Zimmerman's lawyer, Jayne Weintraub, after Scheibe reportedly contacted her.

The motion states Scheibe has no desire to press charges against Zimmerman and that she is "not afraid of George in any manner."

While Scheibe wants the no-contact order lifted, it is up to a Seminole County judge to decide whether to lift it.

According to court documents, police found five guns and more than 100 rounds of ammunition in the house the couple shared.

I appreciate that the DV case is STATE V Zimmerman... so Scheibe can not just "drop the charges"... but as I suggested early into this farce... if Scheibe refuses to testify.. or testifies to a different story, then the State has no case? Surely the charges should be dropped/case dismissed or whatever?

George Zimmerman's defense lawyer has asked a judge to allow him to see his girlfriend, who has recanted the domestic violence allegations which led to his arrest last month, new court documents show.

The apparent about-face by Zimmerman's girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, throws his latest criminal case into doubt, leaving prosecutors to reassess whether or not to pursue charges.

"I want to be with George," Scheibe says in a sworn statement which accompanies a new motion.

She adds: "I do not want George Zimmerman charged. I make this decision freely, knowingly and voluntarily, without any intimidation coercion or undue influences."

Perjury charges anyone???

She took up police time and taxpayer's money just to throw a fit. Now she is blaming the police. She got GZ locked up and another bond for him to pay. It's time for her to pay back the taxpayers.

We'll see. I don't think perjury charges are pursued that often? They certainly were not in the Casey Anthony case.. and when you think about it... people lie all the time at trials... that is dealt with by lawyers "impeaching" their testimony (prove it's lies) but perjury charges rarely ensue.
IMO pursuing perjury charges against Shellie Zimmerman was vindictive... a manoeuver to coerce George... as I say... pursuing that was somewhat unusual.

As we can already see... Scheibe will likely claim she was pressured by police.. etc etc etc... a good lawyer could well explain it all away.
But we'll see... up to the prosecutors if they think it is worth charging perjury... I doubt they will.
