Lake Mary cops: We're not charging George Zimmerman with stealing from his mother-in-law
She accused him of stealing a king-sized bed, antique chair and leather furniture.
By Rene Stutzman, Orlando Sentinel
5:46 p.m. EDT, October 23, 2013

Lake Mary police announced Wednesday that they are not going to charge George Zimmerman with stealing a king-sized bed, antique chair and several other pieces of furniture from his mother-in-law's rental house where he lived for several months.

Department spokesman Officer Zach Hudson characterized the matter as "a civil dispute".

Earlier, Hudson described it as a landlord-tenant dispute.

Zimmerman's mother-in-law, Machelle Dean, last month filed a police report, accusing Zimmerman of stealing items from the house where he had lived for several months.

It includes $4,400 worth of items, including $3,000 worth of leather furniture, a pillow-top king-sized bed, an antique chair owned by his estranged wife's grandmother and other items, according to a police report.

She also accused him of defacing the kitchen cabinets by writing on them, the report said.

Police tried to question Zimmerman but he referred questions to his attorney, Mark O'Mara, the report said. At one point, O'Mara said he'd just pay the estimated loss himself "because his client did not need the extra attention," the report said.

However, that never happened.

Over at whonoze, wordsalad2009 put up a link to a DropBox cache of a PDF of the full Lake Mary PD report about the furniture theft allegations and investigation and it gets very interesting towards the end.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9fc217bp8f5fcfv/2.pdf

Click on that, then click on download on the resulting page and then save to your hard drive.

Push builds to bring civil charges against George Zimmerman

Over 1.5M petition signatures sent to Justice Department

Published On: Oct 28 2013 09:11:04 AM EDT Updated On: Oct 28 2013 09:12:11 AM EDT

SANFORD, Fla. -Since the summer, there has been a push to bring a civil rights case against George Zimmerman after he was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Monday morning, the Justice Department received a petition with over 1.5 million signatures calling for civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

Jealous hopes that it will allow action to be called against Zimmerman.

The NAACP claims that Martin's right to life was violated the night Zimmerman shot him. Ben Jealous, the president of the NAACP, tweeted a picture that showed dozens of boxes filled with petitions that were delivered to the Justice Department.

:lol

I was tempted to post this in the "Daily Daft Posts From Justarse Quest" thread... it is silly to imagine that a "petition" counts for anything.. other than it is head count (probably with results padded) of nut-jobs. :)
Dopes imprinted by the false narrative... cynically foisted on them by the Scheme Team... in an attempt to advance their own financial and political agendas. The evidence (lack of it) was clear in this case. The Trial was a farce where the prosecution clearly had no case. Even with lies and obfuscation they were unable to show this case involved anything other than a guy who (luckily) was able to legitimately defend himself when attacked by a wanna-be thug... TM.
Even if dopes can not grasp the reality of what happened... "double jeopardy" laws ensure that GZ will never again be tried in relation to the death of TM. Any silly notions about a trumped-up "civil rights" charge are doomed to fail too. The evidence shows that GZ was not some out of control racist.. he was probably the antithesis of a racist... The only racism in this case comes from the side of the Scheme Team and the delusional Traybots.

I imagine there will be a surge in stupidity from our favourite Traybots at JQ and elsewhere.... responses referencing Traybots may well be best dealt with in the "Daft" thread.....

Review of Jack Cashills book.......“If I Had A Son – Race, Guns and the Railroading of George Zimmerman”

Jack Cashill’s “If I Had A Son” The Comprehensive Book About The George Zimmerman Case – Available Beginning Today
Posted on October 29, 2013 by sundance

In March of 2012 no-one could have predicted that a rag tag bunch of misfits spread around the globe would ultimately identify the beginning of the largest full scale media fraud in our lifetime. And certainly no-one would have predicted that most would end up here sharing their discoveries and identifying the Truth behind the headlines.

What we identified as the *real story* around the Trayvon Martin shooting was little, if anything, to do with the actual George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin encounter. The real story was how this one self-defense shooting was used by an assembly of disparate interests, and then manipulated in the extreme by a monolithic over powering media machine.

It was, and still remains, arguably one of the most, if not *the most*, astounding examples of modern, full-scale media manipulation ever witnessed.

Social media, mainstream media and various professional grievance artists, all participated in one of the most bizarre examples of modern sociology run to the ideological, and political, extremes.

Such is the complex outline behind the Jack Cashill book “If I Had A Son – Race, Guns and the Railroading of George Zimmerman” – which is available today, released in hardback.

Initially, when Jack Cashill first requested review of our research, and later, when he asked if we would assist his efforts with use of our content - we were reluctant.

We were not reluctant because the story was not important or valuable, but rather because the sheer size and scope of the story seemed almost impossible to present into one accurate, and yet digestible, format.

However, Jack Cashill has done the impossible.

IMO, that decision should have hit the broadcast news not snuck in during a Senate Hearing. A couple of months ago, IR hearing the DOJ had approached the Fulton-Martin Family and I believe that the decision had been discussed then.

It should be broadcast on every media outlet but the MSM is not about to say anything good pertaining to George.

Al Charlatan attacks Ted Cruz

Sharpton accused Cruz of “politicizing” 17-year-old Trayvon Martin’s death during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday concerning the “Stand Your Ground” case. Sharpton is one of many liberal activists taking action against the “Stand Your Ground” law after the trial, even though the law wasn’t even used by George Zimmerman’s defense attorneys.

The reverend opened his segment “Politics Nation” on MSNBC by saying, “It was a serious hearing, but Senator Ted Cruz seemed to think it was just a chance to score some cheap political points.”

Sharpton sought to add relevance to his accusation by featuring a clip of Cruz speaking at Tuesday’s hearing: “We know that some in our political process have a desire to exploit that tragic violent incident. We have seen efforts to undermine the verdict of the jury, and to inflame racial tensions,” Cruz said.

In an outrageously unwarranted accusation, Sharpton added that Cruz was claiming that “Stand Your Ground is good law for minorities.”

Sybrina Fulton said (the Stand Your Ground law) is an important issue to tackle if “you want everybody to feel safe in their neighborhood.”

Sybrina Fulton is right. As long as Stand Your Ground laws stand, criminals, thugs, gangsters, and aggressors can never feel safe in their neighborhoods.

What do you all think about the juror Maddie and now she has a donation page set up?

Scroll down the article and you will see where it says "Kaplan also set up a donation page" and click on the phrase.

By Arelis R. Hernandez, Orlando Sentinel
3:01 p.m. EST, November 5, 2013

Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith on Tuesday clarified his position on whether Neighborhood Watch volunteers in his city will be allowed to carry firearms, blaming the confusion on his own faulty language.

Neighborhood Watch volunteers won't be banned from carrying handguns, but participants of a different program, Citizens on Patrol, will be, he said.

When Smith was hired as chief seven months ago, he said he found Neighborhood Watch in disarray with various groups operating with their own set of rules and no accountability.

Part of the effort to revamp both of Sanford's community programs is to distinguish Neighborhood Watch from the Citizens on Patrol and set policies that would absolve police of any liability should volunteers use a gun as part of their duties

Sanity Prevails: Attempted Repeal Of FL ‘Stand Your Ground’ Law Fails Miserably – Committee Vote 11-2 In Favor of Rejecting Repeal
Posted on November 8, 2013 by sundance

Image

LetJusticePrevail shares: [...] For anyone interested, this link provides access to the full video of the FL Criminal Justice Subcommittee hearing yesterday that listened to debate on HB 4003 that called for the repeal of the FL Stand Your Ground law.

The hearing (and video) was FIVE HOURS long, and it may not be something you want to watch, so here’s the long and short of it:

The committee rejected the bill by a vote of 11-2, (voting FOR the repeal were Dems Randolph Bracy and Kionne McGhee) and the SYG law WILL remain in place. The other bill (HB 89) that addresses proposed changes to the SYG law (but not repeal)and the 10-20-life sentencing guidelines was approved by a vote of 12-1 and will be sent to the general legislature.(only McGhee opposed HB 89, on the argument that it was an “exception to an exception to an exception to an exception and that there were better ways to address the issue of mandatory sentences in of aggravated assault, rather than including them under the umbrella of immunity as provided under statute 776).

So, the repeal of FL’s SYG law died in subcommittee, and the bill that would EXPAND immunity to include cases where the mere THREAT of force was used in cases of self defense PASSED to be heard by the legislature. These were BOTH victories for FL citizens, and their rights to defend themselves.
