Excessive force claimed.

The guy was not seriously injured, let alone shot dead.... cops have been clled out/disiplined.... so a bit of a WEAK reason for a RIOT!!

Milwaukee’s chief of police said officers “acted inappropriately” during a January arrest of Bucks guard Sterling Brown, that included use of a stun gun, and apologized to the NBA player.

Chief Alfonso Morales’ apology came as the department released body-camera footage of the arrest, which occurred around 2 a.m. on Jan. 26 in a Walgreens parking lot. Brown was tased and arrested during a routine parking violation, Morales said. No charges were ever filed against Brown.

“The department conducted an investigation into the incident, which revealed members acted inappropriately and those members were recently disciplined,” Morales said at a brief news conference Wednesday.

The video released by police shows the officer pulling up to a Mercedes sedan parked horizontally across two handicapped parking spots. As the officer gets out of his cruiser, Brown can be seen walking out of the Walgreens and toward his car. At one point the officer tells Brown to back up and a verbal altercation ensues between the two, the video shows.

I think we have a BAD CASE of appeasement here.... and if there are riots anyway it will just confirm that appeasement never works. :cool

Cops did not look to be doing anything wrong to me? Cops have a tough job and the last thing they need is some arrogant dope with "attitude"... not complying with officers instructions. The Cops dont know what comes next.. they have to be TOUGH!!

Basically, a long article justifying why the new Chief of Police needs to be more transparent and change how the police make traffic stops. :roll

Body camera video is latest setback for Milwaukee police

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Body camera video showing police using a stun gun on an NBA player over a parking violation is just the latest setback for efforts to improve the strained relationship between Milwaukee officers and the city’s black population.

The confrontation involving Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown represents the first major challenge for new Police Chief Alfonso Morales, who took the job in February promising to restore public trust in a department besieged in recent years by lawsuits alleging excessive force.

Brown has indicated he will file a lawsuit against the police. If he does, the complaint will add to a long list of litigation the city has faced over officer misconduct.
