Resolution thanking St. Louis police officers fails in aldermanic committee
By Celeste Bott | St. Louis Post-Dispatch | October 17, 2017

ST. LOUIS • A resolution thanking St. Louis police officers won't move forward to the full Board of Aldermen after a heated discussion in committee on Tuesday.

Multiple aldermen expressed frustration that the city in recent weeks had been mired in debates over "tit-for-tat" resolutions, which are not laws. Resolutions are typically used to show consensus or criticism, express the board's opinion on public policy issues, or thank someone for their service.

Some said they feared allowing the police resolution to be debated before the full board on Friday would have led to a "firestorm" that would distract from more pressing issues the city is facing.

Several arrested in 'kettle' during St. Louis protest get letters putting off court dates
By Janelle O'Dea | St. Louis Post-Dispatch | October 17, 2017

More than 120 people were ordered to appear in court Wednesday on a "failure to disperse" charge when they were arrested by St. Louis police on Sept. 17 in a tactic known as "kettling."

But at least seven of those arrested have received letters informing them of a delay. "As of today, the City Counselor is still reviewing the evidence against you in order to decide whether or not to file charges and it is not anticipated that this decision will be made prior to Oct. 18, 2017," the letters say.

The seven include Post-Dispatch reporter Mike Faulk, Air Force Lt. Alex Nelson, two local high school seniors and post-doctoral neuroscience researcher Mario Ortega.

"(The letter) was vague," Ortega said in a text message. "No timeline."
[...]
Attempts to reach the St. Louis Police Department for comment on the letters were unsuccessful. Associate City Counselor Craig K. Higggins signed the letters. No one at the city counselor's office was available for comment Tuesday.

I get the feeling that the authorities are "backing off"... when they SHOULD be throwing the book at these savages... to discourage rioting in the future. :doh

We NEED A LOT MORE of this... not less... and not have these Dang meetings about it afterwards!!

Yeah good shot of Safari Park cattle... penned in.. ready to be hog-tied and branded...

It's already like "the good old days"

These rioting communist activist kids with cameras don't seem to even be up to getting kettled, sprayed, hog-tied, branded... and arrested.

Are these savages actually getting on with any proper rioting tonight?

Not that I know of. :roll

Today has been all about the ACLU/Council/PityParty at the Galleria :40 where a bunch of people who were kettled and arrested are telling their story/version to a bunch of people acting like they care.

No REAL stuff happening ..... yet. (I'm watching for it.)

I know, right?

Z is at least awake, he just retweeted, so there's hope he will show.

I do hope it's over, unless they plan a REAL protest on a weekend where Blossom shows up and gets arrested. ;)

I'm still looking for one of them to go live. :roll

We are asking for those who are participating in this Action to bring a WHITE shirt with you that will be painted/colored on; Once you get there to put on!! Hope to see EVERYONE out and bring some friends with you!! #ShutItDown

St. Louis rioting forecast: Image

White shirts/markers/paint/rain .... I can't wait to see this fiasco. ;)

ROFL! Riot season never ends...they say they'll keep it up. Remember how long Ferguson went on? I think they're just getting started. Ugh.

Post subject:  Re: St Louis Riots following Jason Stockley acquittal

I dont mind an extended riot season.

Molly and I often opine about "the good old days" of Ferguson.... daily entertainment.

My ONLY objection is that Cops let the cattle roam for too long before rounding them up for dosing with Pepper Spray, hog-tying, and branding!
