FBI gives Congress 'secret' documents on Clinton emails

FBI agents provided the House Oversight Committee a "number of documents" on Tuesday related to their investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email use.

The records were marked "secret," the second-highest level of classification given to government documents, a committee aide told the Washington Examiner.

"Committee staff is currently reviewing the information," the aide said in a statement. "There are no further details at this time."

A Justice Department letter to Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the Oversight Committee, and Rep. Elijah Cummings, the panel's ranking Democrat, described the records only as a "document production" and did not specify whether the files provided were notes from the FBI's interview of Clinton, as some reports have indicated.

Clinton's three-hour interview with the FBI in early July was not transcribed nor taken under oath, FBI Director James Comey revealed to the committee last month.

Judicial Watch: Federal Court Orders Hillary Clinton to Answer Questions under Oath in Email Scandal
AUGUST 19, 2016

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan’s decision granting Judicial Watch permission to submit interrogatories to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and to depose the former Director of Information Resource Management of the Executive Secretariat (“S/ES-IRM”) John Bentel:

“We are pleased that this federal court ordered Hillary Clinton to provide written answers under oath to some key questions about her email scandal,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “We will move quickly to get these answers. The decision is a reminder that Hillary Clinton is not above the law.”

The court order reads:

[T] the State Department shall release all remaining documents responsive to Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act request by no later than September 30, 2016; and it is FURTHER ORDERED that, consistent with Rule 33 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Judicial Watch may serve interrogatories on Secretary Clinton by no later than October 14, 2016 … Secretary Clinton’s responses are due by no later than thirty days thereafter … Judicial Watch may depose Mr. Bentel by no later than October 31, 2016.

In his opinion Judge Sullivan writes:

The Court is persuaded that Secretary Clinton’s testimony is necessary to enable her to explain on the record the purpose for the creation and operation of the clintonemail.com system for State Department business.

On July 8 Judicial Watch submitted a request for permission to depose Clinton; the Director of Office of Correspondence and Records of the Executive Secretariat (“S/ES-CRM”) Clarence Finney; and Bentel. The request arises in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit before Judge Sullivan that seeks records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, former Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton. The lawsuit was reopened because of revelations about the clintonemail.com system. (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-01363)).

I have heard an opinuon that Crooked Hillary could ask for an extension to the 30 days she has to reply. Simply do the usual Clinton trick. Delay replying until after the election.

I think it would be a good idea to get a copy of the questions and ANSWER THEM "on behalf of Crooked Hillary"

I think Judicial Watch has done an outstanding job, keeping the pressure on HRC criminal issues. They've been successful in their requests. I was surprised at this ruling and do think Clinton will take advantage of any delay loopholes.

Hoping I don't have too much faith in the October wikileaks drop.

9/11/2012 - Benghazi attacks
12/15/2012 - around the time of HRC's dehydration/fainting episode - she was scheduled to testify before Congress on December 20 about the attack in Benghazi
1/23/2013 - HRC's first testimony at a Senate hearing on Benghazi

As I was reading the aftermath of 9/11 emails, I was puzzled about a name Diane Reynolds, as seeming to be a very close friend who I've never heard of. I almost googled it, but figured it was just that - a close friend.

Now I guess we have to decide who all releases what. Maybe both should just release medical and tax information but frankly no law forces them to do so. I do believe Hillary has some hidden personal issues that are about to make a big change in this whole process as the public slowly becomes aware and begins asking more questions.
