Doctors plead to study Tamerlan Tsarnaev's brain in bid to find a 'biological basis' for carrying out the Boston Bombings

Explanation: One Boston doctor says that the Tamerlan's boxing career (pictured right) may have led
to a brain condition that could 'teach us a small but important bit about the biology of violence'

Neuroscientists in Boston are asking for a chance to examine the brain of one of the Marathon Bombing suspects to try and find some explanations for the attacks.

Dr Michael Craig Miller argued in the Boston Globe that Tamerlan Tsarnaev's brain should be studied 'as closely as our forensic experts have studied a few blocks along Boylston Street' - the scene of the double blasts on April 15.

Miller works as a psychiatrist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the city, where Tamerlan died and his younger brother, Dzhohkar Tsarnaev, was treated after a stand-off with police.

The doctor claimed that we are all keen for more details about Tamerlan's radicalization, and also the reported aggression and anger of the 26-year-old suspect.

Miller acknowledged that many people are looking for explanations as to why the two men allegedly plotted and executed the attacks that killed three people and injured more than 200.

Dr Miller said that Dr Robert Cantu and Dr Robert Stern of Boston University’s Center for the Study of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) have already expressed an interest in Tsarnaev's brain.

CTE is a degenerative brain disease that was initially discovered in boxers. And Miller believes that Tamerlan's boxing career could have caused this or another condition in the suspect.

Dr Miller concedes that: 'We are not likely to agree about the meaning of what is found in the brain of the suspected bomber.'

He quoted Doctors Cantu and Stern who point out that any evidence of a brain disease 'would not necessarily have been the cause of Tsarnaev’s premeditated, violent behavior.'

Thanks, Credence. Very interesting and I hope some way they can find out if the brothers were part of a "sleeper cell" or not. Some say the devices were too advanced and that they figure someone gave them the skills, yet we know there is so much out on the net that gives explicit instructions for constructing almost anything.

Saudi official: Kingdom 'warned the United States IN WRITING about Boston Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2012 and rejected his application for an entry visa to visit Mecca in 2011'

  • Saudis developed intelligence separately from Russia, which also warned the U.S. about the accused Boston bomber
  • A letter to the Department of Homeland Security allegedly named Tsarnaev and three Pakistanis as potential jihadis worthy of U.S. investigation
  • Red flags from Saudi Arabia to have included Tsarnaev's name and information about a planned explosive attack on a major U.S. city
  • Saudi foreign minister, national security chief both met with Obama in the oval office in early 2013

PUBLISHED: 03:46 GMT, 1 May 2013 | UPDATED: 06:14 GMT, 1 May 2013

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sent a written warning about accused Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2012, long before pressure-cooker blasts killed three and injured hundreds, according to a senior Saudi government official with direct knowledge of the document.

The Saudi warning, the official told MailOnline, was separate from the multiple red flags raised by Russian intelligence in 2011, and was based on human intelligence developed independently in Yemen.

Citing security concerns, the Saudi government also denied an entry visa to the elder Tsarnaev brother in December 2011, when he hoped to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, the source said. Tsarnaev's plans to visit Saudi Arabia have not been previously disclosed.

The Saudis' warning to the U.S. government was also shared with the British government. 'It was very specific’ and warned that 'something was going to happen in a major U.S. city,' the Saudi official said during an extensive interview.

It 'did name Tamerlan specifically,' he added. The 'government-to-government' letter, which he said was sent to the Department of Homeland Security at the highest level, did not name Boston or suggest a date for his planned attack.

If true, the account will produce added pressure on the Homeland Security department and the White House to explain their collective inaction after similar warnings were offered about Tsarnaev by the Russian government.

A DHS official denied, however, that the agency received any such warning from Saudi intelligence about Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

'DHS has no knowledge of any communication from the Saudi government regarding information on the suspects in the Boston Marathon Bombing prior to the attack,' MailOnline learned from one Homeland Security official who declined to be named in this report.

The White House took a similar view. 'We and other relevant U.S. government agencies have no record of such a letter being received,' said Caitlin Hayden, a spokesperson for the president’s National Security Council.

Note the difference:

What they could have said: 1. We didn't receive such a letter.

What they actually said: 2. We have no record of such a letter being received.

Sounds like they may have a record keeping problem.

FBI arrest three 'college friends of Boston bomber who they believe helped him get rid of knapsack in landfill' after the marathon atrocity

  • Three taken into custody believed to be college students who helped Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover up for the bombing after the fatal blasts
  • Two of three identified as Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov
  • Third suspect named as Robel Phillipos of Cambridge, Massachusetts
  • All three are 19-years-old, the same age as Dzhokhar
  • Three 'disposed of materials for the bomber at a landfill after attack'
  • Boston police say there is no threat to public safety

Boston police announced on Wednesday that three new suspects were arrested in connection to the marathon bombing and they are thought to be Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's roommates who helped him cover his tracks after the fatal blasts.

The students are thought to have disposed of a knapsack in a landfill when Tsarnaev asked them to after the bombings.

Image

The Boston Police Department were the first ones to report the arrest over their Twitter feed, and The Boston Globe claimed that the three people in custody were college students and the roommates of the younger bomber, Dzhokhar.

Federal sources told The Washington Post that the three students disposed of undisclosed material in a landfill on behalf of their 19-year-old Chechan friend following the bombing. Reuters later confirmed they threw away a knapsack, though it is not known what was inside the bag.

There are mixed reports over whether the friends worked to hide laptops belonging to one or both of the bombers, or fireworks. Police were seen searching a landfill in nearby New Bedford, Massachusetts last week during their search for evidence in the case.

The criminal report names the three suspects- Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, who are both Kazakh nationals, and an American named Robel Phillipos. All three suspects are 19-years-old.

Two of the suspects were already in police custody in regards to an immigration issue that investigators discovered after questioning them over their license plates that read 'TERRORISTA#1'. Those two friends are Kazakh citizens and the third is thought to be an American national.

Image

The three are charged with making false statements and conspiracy to obstruct justice, which implies that they were not involved in actually carrying out the attack but rather helping the suspect evade police after the fatal blasts.

The claims were reiterated by NBC's Pete Williams, who said that Dzhokhar's roommates were arrested Wednesday and charged with giving false information to police.

The three were all students at UMass Dartmouth- where Dzhokhar was enrolled- and that they helped him after the April 15 bombings.

This is not the first time that the bomber's roommates have come under investigation, as they prompted alarm bells after it was revealed that they were driving a BMW with license plates that read 'TERRORISTA#1'.

Boston bomber texted ‘lol’ to three college friends who warned him his face was 'all over the news' as they are arrested for throwing out his backpack to help cover his tracks

  • Three taken into custody helped Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover up for the bombing after the fatal blasts
  • Two identified as Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both Kazakh nationals who were in custody already on immigration issues

When Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's college friend sent a text warning the Boston bomber that his fast was all over the news, 19-year-old Tsarnaev responded with 'lol' - universal text message-speak for a joke.

Tsarnaev then told his pal Dias Kadyrbayev: 'You better not text me.'

Kadyrbayev is one of three of Tsarnaev's college friends arrested on Wednesday by federal authorities and accused of trying to cover the suspected terrorist's tracks by throwing away his computer and a backpack full of firearms.

Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both Kazakh nationals, were charged with conspiring to obstruct justice by destroying evidence. An American named Robel Phillipos is charged with knowingly and willfully making false statements to investigators.

The three young men were friends of Tsarneav at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, where the 19-year-old bomb suspect was a promising student.

According to the criminal complaint from federal authorities, Kadyrbayev sent a text message to Tsarnaev on April 18 after the FBI released surveillance images of him at the Boston Marathon with his brother Tamerlan.

Kadyrbayev warned his friend that that he was plastered across TV News.

'Tsarnaev’s return texts contained ‘lol’ and other things KADYRBAYEV interpreted as jokes,' documents say.

He also wrote: 'You better not text me’ and ‘Come to my room and take whatever you want'

Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov had already been in police custody for more than a week at the time of their arrest because they were previously questioned about their license plate that reads ‘TERRORISTA#1’. Authorities then held them on immigration issues because they are in the country illegally after their academic visas expired.

The nature of these charges suggests that none of these young men helped plan the fatal Marathon bombing, which left three dead and more than 200 injured, but they did work to cover Tsarnaev’s tracks from investigators and evade capture.

The detailed criminal complaint goes through the timeline of events according to each of the 19-year-olds, all of whom met Tsarnaev when they started school at UMASS-Dartmouth in the same semester in the fall of 2011.

Like many throughout Boston, none of the three boys had any inkling that Tsarnaev was involved until the FBI released pictures of the two suspects, later identified as 19-year-old Dzhokhar and his 26-year-old brother Tamerlan.

'Boston Bomber' died of gunshot wounds and massive blunt trauma after his 'brother ran him over' death certificate reveals

  • Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died from gunshot wounds and blunt trauma to his head and torso death certificate reveals
  • Police: Tsarnaev was shot before body dragged under vehicle driven by younger brother

Boston Marathon bomber suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev died from gunshot wounds and blunt trauma to his head and torso, a funeral home revealed today.

Worcester funeral home owner Peter Stefan who was holding the body of 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev read the details from his death certificate on Friday.

The certificate cites Tsarnaev's 'gunshot wounds of torso and extremities' and lists the time of his death as 1:35 a.m. on April 19, four days after the deadly bombing, Stefan said.

Tsarnaev died after a gunfight with authorities who had launched a massive manhunt for him and his brother, ethnic Chechens from Russia who came to the United States about a decade ago.

Police have said he ran out of ammunition before his younger brother dragged his body under a vehicle while fleeing.

Tsarnaev's family on Friday was making arrangements for his funeral as investigators searched the woods near a college attended by 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was captured less than a day after his brother's death.

Tsarnaev's family was making arrangements for his funeral as investigators searched the woods near a college attended by his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, on Friday.

The funeral parlor in Worcester is familiar with Muslim services and said it will handle arrangements for Tamerlan Tsarnaev, whose body was released by the state medical examiner on Thursday night.

The body was taken initially to a North Attleborough funeral home, where it was greeted by about 20 protesters.

On Friday a woman answering a phone at the funeral parlor said it has since been removed and taken elsewhere, the Los Angeles Times reports.

I think it's a process of "brain-washing"... from birth. Parents, the environment and culture. Perpetuated from one generation to the next. With a historical background as reference.

I don't see it as something we can fix any more than we can stop Polar Bears from killing cute baby seal pups.

We deal with polar bears by avoiding them where they live, and NOT allowing them to move in and live amongst us.

FBI focuses on Boston bomber's widow after agents discover radical Islamist files on her computer and traces of explosive residue throughout her home

  • Katherine Russell, 24, had al Qaeda's extremist Inspire magazine on her computer
  • Traces of explosives were found in bathtub, sink and on a table in her and Tamerlan Tsarnaev's Cambridge, Mass., home
  • Russell spoke to Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the hours after the FBI released images of him, but she will not reveal what they discussed
  • Fingerprints and DNA found on at least one bomb does not belong to her
  • Authorities 'skeptical about her insistence she had nothing to do with it'

Federal officials investigating the Boston bombings have discovered radical Islamist materials on a computer belonging to the widow of the deceased suspect, it has been revealed.

Katherine Russell, 24, has repeatedly claimed through her attorney that she knew nothing about the deadly April 15 bombings allegedly set off by her late husband, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and his younger brother, Dzhokhar.

However, the discovery of al Qaeda’s Inspire magazine on Russell’s computer, along with the presence of explosive residue throughout their home, have raised new questions about Russell's possible involvement in the act of terror.

According to a government document obtained by NBC News, an analysis of the bombs used at the Boston Marathon and pipe bombs that the Tsarnaevs had allegedly thrown at police may have been built following instructions that appeared in an Inspire article titled: Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom.

Officials have yet to determine whether the Islamist files found in Russell’s possession belonged to the 24-year-old mother, her late 26-year-old husband or a third party, a source told The Washington Post.

Investigators have 'growing evidence' that Boston bombers 'slit throats of three men and dumped marijuana across their bodies in gruesome unsolved murder'

  • Tamerlan Tsarnaev's friend Brendan Mess and two other men were found killed in September 2011 but their murderers have not been found
  • Now investigators said forensic evidence connects the Tsarnaev brothers to the scene and cell phone records show they were in the area
  • After Mess's death, Tamerlan did not go to his funeral and stopped attending the boxing and martial arts club they had attended together

By Daily Mail Reporter

Investigators have gathered 'mounting evidence' that suggest the Boston bomber brothers could have been involved in a grisly unsolved triple murder in 2011, it has emerged.

Officials told ABC News that forensic evidence could tie Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to the killings of Brendan Mess, Raphael Teken and Erik Weissman, who were found with their throats slit and marijuana dumped over their dead bodies in a Waltham, Massachusetts house.

The Tsarnaevs knew the men as Tamerlan trained in boxing and martial arts with Brendan Mass.

However, officials said more DNA testing is required before bringing an indictment against the surviving brother, Dzhokhar, who is recovering from a self-inflicted gun wound in a prison infirmary.

Authorities have now told ABC that forensic evidence from the crime scene in 2011 matches the Tsarnaev brothers. Their cell phones were also in the area at the time of the killings, records show

The three men had ordered food from an Italian restaurant on the September 11, 2011, but when a delivery woman came to leave the food, no one answered the door.

The next morning, one of the victim's girlfriends found their bodies.

Their throats had been slit, they have been covered with marijuana and there was also $5,000 cash in the home.

Friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev shot dead by FBI after 'pulling a knife as he prepared to sign a confession to 2011 triple homicide'

  • Ibragim Todashev, 27, reportedly turned violent during an interview with an FBI agent
  • He was being interviewed over his ties to Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev
  • Todashev, from Chechnya, was shot dead by the agent just after midnight Wednesday
  • He had reportedly confessed to the FBI that he played a role in a brutal triple slaying in the Boston area in 2011
  • Todashev had met Tsarnaev while he was living in Boston and last spoke him about a week before the bombing
  • He was arrested on May 4 in an unrelated incident after he knocked a man unconscious in a fight over a parking space

An FBI agent fatally shot a Chechen man in Orlando, Florida early Wednesday after the man allegedly turned violent as he was preparing to sign a written confession to his involvement in a 2011 triple homicide, according to authorities.

Ibragim Todashev, 27, was shot dead at his condo near Universal Studios just after midnight, FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier confirmed to MailOnline.

Authorities say Todashev, who had ties to Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, pulled a knife on the agent, prompting him to fire his weapon in self defense. The agent was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Since when does the FBI interrogate a murder suspect w/o prior search for weapons?

Can't reply to a quote in this thread for some reason even when it's only one quote.

Anyway it was mentioned above since when does the FBI not search someone first. Kind of strange.

Does it make you think maybe that mother wasn't so whacko with what all she had been saying about what our government knew about her boys. A lot of convenient deaths in the recent past. Naw can't be because we have one of the most translucent governments of all times in the USA so we'd know what's what. Haha

I will do your post as I think you wanted:

And my reply:
I agree there are some strange goings on.... I am reluctant to see organised Conspiracies... but the Obama Administration has me convinced that they conspire in many areas. Certainly Governments are not above covert stuff.

It is a HUGE stretch for me to NOT see the Mother as a Terrorist herself... and a fruit-loop besides.
