FBI agents found an empty GoPro package, shooting targets and tools inside a car belonging to the mother of San Bernardino mass shooter Syed Farook, Daily Mail Online can reveal.

Authorities have repeatedly denied rumors that Farook, 28, and his wife Tashfeen Malik, 27, strapped recording devices to their body armor as they stormed the Inland Regional Center, slaughtering 14 people and wounding 21.

However Daily Mail Online has a discovered that an empty GoPro box was one of dozens of items seized from a black Lexus IS300 in the wake of last Wednesday's massacre.

First on CNN: San Bernardino shooter may have planned a 2012 attack, officials say
By Pamela Brown | CNN | December 8, 2015

(CNN) -- Investigators believe San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook may have been plotting an earlier attack in California with someone else, two U.S. officials said.

One of the officials said the two conspired in 2012 and a specific target was considered. Neither of the officials could say how serious the plotting got.

One official said the two decided not to go through with the earlier attack after a round of terror-related arrests in the area.

"They got spooked," the official said.

The purported plot bolsters assertions law enforcement officials have made since the San Bernardino attacks, saying Farook had been radicalized for a time before the shooting.

FBI agents search Seccombe Lake in San Bernardino
By Beatriz Valenzuela, San Bernardino Sun
Posted: 12/10/15, 12:20 PM PST | Updated: 53 mins ago

SAN BERNARDINO >> The FBI has been searching Seccombe Lake for several hours. It was unclear if the search is connected to the terrorist attack at Inland Regional Center last week.

The lake is nearly three miles from the Dec. 2 mass shooting that killed 14 people and wounded 21 others.

Members of the FBI bomb team as well as the Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team and San Bernardino City Fire officials were at the location.

The search is taking place on the northeastern portion of the lake, just south of one of the baseball diamonds. Just before noon, two frogmen were seen concentrating their attention on a small section of the lake.

As of 1:20 p.m., one of the divers was out of the lake and being hosed off, while a second diver was still searching the lake.

Farook and Malik pass through U.S. customs at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago in July 2014

Image

Would anybody who dressed up (and looked) like this be allowed to walk around Ben Gurion Airport, let alone board an El Al flight?

I think NOT.

PROFILING... USA you aint doing it right.

If devices found in lake, strong chance San Bernardino attack investigators could recover data
Paresh Dave

FBI investigators on Friday were expected to continue their days-long search of a lake in San Bernardino for electronics discarded by the shooters in last week's deadly terrorist attack. But whether any devices were actually left behind and what value they might hold remains unclear.

David Zimmerman, chief executive of Clearwater, Fla.-based data recovery firm LC Technology International, said investigators have a strong chance of accessing the data from any water-submerged digital devices even if they’ve been in there for more than a week.

“The only real way to destroy this stuff is hit it with a hammer,” Zimmerman said. “Once you break that chip or disk, there’s no way to reassemble it. Brute physical damage is the only surefire way to damage it.”

Friend of killer says he helped build prior pipe bombs

Enrique Marquez, a former neighbor of Farook, told investigators he and his friend previously built pipe bombs, law enforcement officials said.

Marquez said he had nothing to do with devices found at the home of Farook and Malik, or the ones that apparently failed to go off at the site of the shooting, the officials said.

Marquez, who has spent several days being voluntarily interviewed by the FBI, portrayed the two men as hobbyists experimenting with building the devices, the officials told CNN.

He also boasted, one official said, that if he had made the bombs they would have gone off.

Marquez has emerged as a person of interest in the San Bernardino shootings because he bought rifles used in the attack. He has not been charged with a crime.

Divers search a small lake near where shooters had been, the FBI says

Divers ended Friday evening a second search of a small lake in a park a few miles from San Bernardino's Inland Regional Center, where 14 people were killed last week.

David Bowdich, the assistant director in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles office, wouldn't comment on what they were looking for. But he said Farook and Malik were in the area "at some point," without specifying if this was before or after the massacre.

One of the items divers likely are looking for is a missing hard drive from the couple's computer.

Bowdich has said the search will take several days.

SAN BERNARDINO SHOOTING: FBI pulls object from Seccombe Lake during search (UPDATE 4)
By ALI TADAYON and PATRICK O'NEILL / STAFF WRITERS
Published: Dec. 11, 2015 Updated: 1:28 p.m.
Updated information on divers pulling something from the water.

An FBI dive team member emerged from Seccombe Lake about 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, and handed an unknown item to another official in gloved hands, who placed the item in a plastic bag.

FBI dive team members started the second day of searching the lake about 9:10 a.m. Friday, at Seccombe Lake Park as they look for evidence tied to the shooting massacre at the Inland Regional Center continued.

About two minutes prior to the retrieval of the unknown object, the diver popped up beneath a bridge at the lake and signaled to a man on shore. Once the object was handed off, the man walked briskly away.

The object in question is round, and appears to be a CD or other storage device. Shortly after the object was removed from the lake, rain began pouring down.

FBI search of San Bernardino’s Seccombe Lake continues for 3rd day
By Beatriz Valenzuela, San Bernardino Sun
Posted: 12/12/15, 8:22 AM PST | Updated: 12 secs ago

SAN BERNARDINO >> For the third day, FBI divers have returned to San Bernardino’s Seccombe Lake to continue their search for evidence linked to the Dec. 2 mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center that killed 14 people.

On Friday -- the second day of searching the murky waters of the lake -- a diver emerged from the water with an item about the size of a half a sandwich. The item was handed to an agent standing outside the lake, who placed it into a bag and ran it to the command post.

Officials would not comment on what that item was or if it was linked to the attack.
