1:51 p.m. ET: Willmott is asking Geffner about Arias' results from the MCMI test.

1:50 p.m. ET: Geffner is cleaning up some water he accidently poured on the witness stand.

1:48 p.m. ET: Geffner is explaining the pyschocological test named MCMI, and how it is the best test for diagnosing personality disorders.

1:45 p.m. ET: The judge is on the bench, and the jury is being seated.

1:33 p.m. ET: Geffner said again the MMPI is not made to test for personality disorder or PTSD. Judge Stephens has recessed court for 10 minutes.

1:31 p.m. ET: Geffner is explaining the proper way for pyschologist to use test results in forming a diagnosis. He says you can't base a diagnosis on one test.

Willmott: “You’re not telling us because the PTSD scale on here, because it’s high, we know for sure she has PTSD, right?”

Geffner: “It is not appropriate to take any one test and diagnose a person based on that. For lack of better words, these are working hypotheses. This is giving the clinician a guide that these things either may or may not be correct and you need to explore further with other tests, with interviews, with collateral records, whatever, to try and verify that."

1:28 p.m. ET: Geffner said some of Arias' MMPI test results are consistent with someone who was traumatized or someone who was in an abusive relationship.

“Using your working hypothesis, somebody from an abusive relationship, then you’re going to hypothesize that they’re not going to be controlling, they’re going to be the opposite – they’re going to be more submissive if they’ve been traumatized in an abusive relationship,” said Geffner.

Like us, I can imagine the jury is seeing this diagnosis bull has nothing to do with the premeditation of the murder or their decision. Such a waste of time for something that will most likely not even be considered.

2:02 p.m. ET: Willmott is asking Geffner about his work and research with victims of trauma.

2:00 p.m. ET: Geffner is explaining how he took Arias' answers on the MCMI and had them re-scored.

1:56 p.m. ET: On the MCMI scale measuring whether someone has a personalty disorder Arias scored average or below average. Instead, Geffner said Arias' MCMI results would support a diagnosis of an anxiety disorder or PTSD.

1:53 p.m. ET: Arias' test results on the MCMI indicate she tried to depict herself favorably through her answers on the test.

Truth from the pathological liar? Hmmmm. :roll

2:10 p.m. ET: Geffner said Arias results on the MCMI indicate she was telling the truth on the exam.

Good to see you here, Rumpole! Just as predicted, quite boring and nothing we didn't know Dr. Geffner was going to say! :roll

Minimal sidebars sidecars, thankfully!

2:18 p.m. ET: Willmott is asking Geffner a test a pyschological test called the TSI. DeMarte gave Arias the TSI test during her evaluation. Remember, Geffner did not give any tests to Arias, because he never interviewed her. He is just talking about test results he has reviewed.

2:13 p.m. ET: The MCMI test does not ask specific questions about traumatic events. The attorneys are now at a sidebar with the judge.

2:27 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge.

2:24 p.m. ET: Geffner is now discussing Arias' results on the TSI test. Her results show she is very concerned about how she has acted sexually according to Geffner.

2:21 p.m. ET: DeMarte used an old version of the TSI test during her evaluation of Arias. Geffner said pyschologists are required to use the most current version of tests, and if their employer doesn't have it they need to demand the employer obtain it, because they aren't difficult to obtain.

“If your employer in your example says, ‘I don’t have it,’ then it’s up to you to tell your employer, ‘Hey, it’s easy to get, you just call up the psychological assessment resources and order another set.’ And then if they refuse, they you shouldn’t be using the old version anyway. It would be better to not use either and use a whole new test,” said Geffner.

All of these tests show that Jodi had psych problems... but we KNOW that and the "stress" she suffered from was caused by the "butchering event"... and NOT by some imaginary battered woman thing.
